This is a fantastic hotel. It couldn't be in a more perfect location. We were in a classic room, small but very comfortable with a very comfortable king size bed. Good size bathroom with ample hot water. Great shower too Good buffet breakfast, with a ot of choice. We are one night in the restaurant, excellent food. Lovely staff. Pre book your car park slot if needed, there aren't many car park spaces but a lot of public ones nearby.

Their own tonic water...... completely changed the taste of a G & T, so much so I couldn't drink it. One thing to be aware of is the Hotel restaurant is closed on Sun along with a lot of other restaurants in Bayeux for some reason. Very odd in a tourist hotspot.

We booked Hotel Le Lion while in Bayeux, after a terrible experience at Moulin Morin (where we had initially booked 3 nights together with our friends). As we were on vacation, there was no point in suffering more than one night, so I looked for other options. There were many choices on Booking, but after a careful analysis we chose Hotel Le Lion and it was the best choice! I felt sorry we didn't choose well in the first place and waisted money, time and ruining the vacation mood on Moulin Morin. By comparison, Le Lion was worth every penny. I felt sorry we had to live after 2 nights, but we had a plane to catch. To sum up: Large, beautiful room, very clean, water and coffee machine in the room, also Dyson Cool in the room. High bed, very comfortable mattress. All the staff was very professional, even better than at some 5 * chain hotels. It exceeded my expectations and I have high standards. Excellent breakfast, very diverse choices of cheese, meat, bread, sweets, a wide variety of fruits (from cherries to dragon fruit), almond milk. We booked the dinner at La Table du Lion one of the evenings: excellent food, impeccable service. In the morning, apart from breakfast, in the reception there were croissants and lemonade. At the reception desk we received very good recommendations for things to do in Bayeux. Excellent stay, overall!!

The only things that required us to call the reception were: used slippers in the bathrobes, empty shower gel, but both were promptly fixed. These things happen, and the way they were fixed was professional, so our good mood did not suffer at all :)

Check-in was simple. Bed was comfortable. Room and main reception areas were clean and tastefully decorated. Staff were very helpful and brought our luggage up the flights of stairs and provided good alternatives for the parking of our car. The hotel is close in proximity to the Bayeaux Tapestry, Juno, and Omaha Memorials. We also explored Mont St Michel while we stayed at this hotel. Food at the hotel restaurant was tasty. Make sure you make reservations. You will never be stuck as there are many restaurants with a 2 min walk.

Be mindful that there is no lift, and the hotel has limited parking. The staff were amazing and assisted in resolving any challenges we had.

The quaint hotel was a gem in the town of Bayeaux. Located centrally, it was easy to find and easy to access other things in the town. Beautiful lobby with a nice waiting area and bar area. The room was a delight as was the bathroom. Clean, attractive, comfortable bed. Deluxe shower with robes, slippers, and lotions, shampoos and hair dryer. Fantastic breakfast with jams, breads and cakes of all sorts, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, cheese, yogurt, and of course croissants. Staff was friendly, spoke english, helpful, and attentive to all our needs.

The location is excellent, right in the centre of Bayeux. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was quite small but comfortable with a well appointed bathroom with a large shower. The view from the room was over the courtyard which was very nice. The room was quiet, even with the windows open, just the noise of the pigeons sitting on the flower boxes.

The room was quite warm, even in April. There was a fan in the room but no air-conditioning. Parking at the hotel is limited, you have to pre-book but there was no mention of this when we booked the room.

Great location. Nice pubs and restaurants within walking distance. There was a lovely looking restaurant on site but didn’t get the time to try. The room was large with separate huge ensuite. The room was beautifully decorated. We got this off bookings .com so we where very happy. The bar area has beautiful comfortable chairs and the photos on the walls show famous people who has visited the hotel.

The only issue was that there was no lift. We were on the 2nd floor with a large amount of heavy luggage. The lovely lady at reception arrange for someone to bring the heavier luggage to our room later.

This is a beautiful and historic hotel. The facilities are gorgeous. The manager and staff went out of their way to welcome us and take care of us. The breakfast was excellent. The location is perfect and just a few minutes' walk from everything. Everything was new, freshly painted and carpeted, and immaculately kept. We had our own parking spot in front, with our name on it, for only 10 euros per night. The outdoor patio area is lovely and extensive. We would love to stay here again and stay longer!

No elevator, but that's typical for a building of this historic nature.

Great location in the middle of shops and restaurants. Walking distance to the cathedral and tapestry. Family rooms generously sized. Shower was a bit frustrating due to no door and water splashing everywhere. Also the booking did not include parking which you pay for separately. They were sold out so we did street parking which was not terrible. Overall a very beautiful hotel and great value for the price we paid For 4 people in one room.

The hotel was close to town and well appointed. Extra toiletries and robes were provided. We had just come from a hotel in Paris that did not provide wash cloths or lotion. We were very happy to have both of these items in Bayeaux. The room was very clean and on the larger side. The mattress on the pull out was thin and would be more comfortable with som additional padding. The main bed was comfortable. We rented e- bikes and opted to have them delivered to the hotel. They were stored until we arrived and they were picked up later that night. We appreciated the hotel providing that service. The front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our stay here and would return.

Our room overlooked the Main Street in town, so it was a little noisy in the evening and early morning. I did not hear other guests at the hotel so that was nice. .

Nice large superior bedroom . Professional and friendly reception staff. Brilliant handling of a small problem by the sommelier. The star goes to the lovely Brigitte in the restaurant who served us and looked after our requirements and made us smile , friendly and professional. Lovely stay overall .

Bedroom was cold as only one radiator turned in when we arrived but a small problem that was solved with a small heater but unusual in my hotel experiences for the room to be cold for our arrival .
