Conveniently located between Chalon and Beaune. Very quiet and pristine, and old property that was nicely renovated/ maintained with lots of character right by the water and surrounded by nature. Jan is a great host, very friendly, while authentic, very informative without oversharing. Great breakfast with focus on local products. Access to good food in the vicinity and just a perfect spot to escape the busy life in a hectic city.

Offering shampoo in addition to shower gel would be rounding up a truly lovely experience.

The food (bfst and dinner) and accommodations were great- highly recommend eating as many dinners as possible in-house, which you must arrange in advance. Jan is a skilled chef, and is pleasant to chat with. We were looking for a quiet village in a quaint and historic setting, which this is, and additionally, it's right on a lovely river. Plenty of nice walking and biking on flat terrain. Church bells at 8 AM, which delightfully prevented us from sleeping through our vacation. Decor is cozy antiques, with good lighting and many options for sitting. Good bathroom facilities and nice shower with good water pressure (filtered, even for showers, since lots of chalk in the local water). Jan has many good recommendations for touristing. We wish we'd had more than 4 days there. Jan is fluent in English, French, German, and Dutch- and perhaps other languages, as well- which makes communications easy. His well behaved dog Lupette was a delight. Area is quiet- no noise from roads or pedestrians. Easy drive to the tourist sights we visited. Good Wifi.

A charming house with character and a feeling of a heritage family home . A peaceful location by the river close to Beaune . I loved the church next to the property , although Jan the proprietor told us the bell is some what loud ( it is ) it added to the ambiance Jan produced a wonderful breakfast , beautifully served Al fresco in the garden . Thank you Jan , we enjoyed your hospitality and conversation .

Location, character, welcoming, personal and detailed consideration by owner for his client’s comfort and pleasure was evident throughout.

It is unfair to comment negatives because our stay was so very enjoyable but, noisy floors in loft space could be disturbing if not shared by family or close friend and hubby and I found steep steps within house a bit trying on the knees. But we managed and still loved it.

Fabulous location, beautiful home filled with lovely antiques. In the room everything had been thought out, with everything we needed, comfortable bed, good shower. Breakfast was excellent, boiled egg, cheese and meats with warm bread and croissants, home made jams and yogurt, a real feast, not what we were expecting ! Jan was a very interesting host, we really enjoyed our short one night stay. I would definitely stay again, highly reccommended.

We had a marvellous time at Jan’s place. Jan is a great host and his B&B is the best. Comfortable and clean accommadation in a homely and welcoming environment. We were welcomed with aperatives in the lounge, with a woodfire burning. Jan made a tasteful three- course meal in the evening and a copius breakfast in the morning. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed a fabulous 4-night stay in this historic and charming house with a beautiful garden along the Saone River. It's well located for day trips by car to all pleasures that burgundy has to offer: from visiting old villages and Monasteries to cycling through the vineyards near Baune. Jan is the perfect host, providing a great breakfast and "inside" information on where to eat and what to do.

We really enjoyed staying at Jan’s place. It’s a very atmospheric 300 year old house, meticulously renovated and decorated. Another thing worth mentioning is a beautiful garden overlooking the river where you immediately forget about the hustle and bustle of the outside world. If you are looking for the real French ambiance, that’s the place! We felt lucky to have this experience on the first day of our holiday. It set the right mood straight away!

Beautiful home filled with elegant furniture and cosseted collectibles- all in the very best taste. The gardens were lovely with many places to sit, relax and enjoy the views. The owner was also interesting and conversed intelligently on many subjects. Lastly , Jans little dog was a treasure !

We would have preferred a bathroom on the same floor as the bedroom as we have old knees and back !!!

An excellent breakfast with everything that makes me happy in the morning. Lovely view, flowers everywhere, tastefull table (real wedgewood, cristal etc.). Jan really tries to spoil you. And succeeds! Good coffee, tea, french Bread, croissant, fresh fruits, cheese, meat, egg, real butter, different spreads and not to forget: delicious Jan-made fig jam.

Really? 😂 Jan spoiled me completely!
