The location of this guesthouse is superb. Just a 3 or 4 minute walk from the bus stop where the airport shuttle drops you and 10 minutes in either direction takes you to either the new town and shopping or the stunning old town. The breakfast terrace (and any time of the day until 21.00hrs!) looks over to the Old Town and Castle and is one of those wow breakfast views. Patrick the owner was very welcoming. It's a small guesthouse and Patrick looks after everything. He does a simple but delicious breakfast of fruit, yoghurt and granola, breads with meat and cheese and a croissant. It's just enough to set you up for the mornings exploring. My room was spacious, very clean and the bed was pretty comfortable. There was a ceiling fan in use which was fine most of the time (I had the coolest room apparently.) There is air-conditioning available but I think you would need to request it to be switched on. Appreciate keeping the costs down and as it was roasting while I was there, he did offer the use of it. All in all a nice little guesthouse with a friendly host, not many rooms so get to know fellow guests, and very convenient for everything in Carcassonne.
It's not really a dislike, but could be a negative for some. Just be aware there is a strict noise curfew from 22.00hrs. This is absolutely fine, it actually makes it nice as people are considerate, but if you want something a bit more exciting then probably not the place for you! My first night I was face-timing in my room, just talking normally, and got a knock on the door asking me to keep the noise down as it's an old building and sound travels. I was fine with this, I hadn't realised it sounded so loud and was conscious of it afterwards, but it does restrict you a little. If you want to stay out late and go partying, maybe find somewhere else!

Booked this Guest House on recommendations we read on Booking.com. We weren't disappointed Patrick was an Amazing host from the moment we arrived. Nothing was to much trouble and he gave us lots of information about the area and restaurants etc The Guest House was wonderful the rooms spacious everything was very clean with tea coffee provided. It is situated in a quiet area only a short walk to both the Old Cite and the town with a square that has lots of restaurants around it so the location is ideal to enjoy both. The lovely Breakfast served by Patrick was on the terrace with incredible views of the castle which makes an excellent start to your day. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 nights stay here and definitely recommend it if visiting Carcassonne.

I particularly enjoyed the experience of staying in an old French style house and loved admiring the objet d'art tastefully placed throughout. There was a peaceful almost magical atmosphere permeating the beautiful house. The stunning central courtyard provided a tranquil haven to relax in after a day sightseeing. A good night's sleep is vital and that is what I got in the lovely bedroom. Air-conditioning,great Wifi,tea/coffee,TV and a most comfortable bed were provided.A private bathroom, luxurious toiletries and hot water on tap were available.Breakfast was served outside on an upstairs terrace. It was fresh ,tasty and healthy.'Real' orange-juice, a dish of muesli ,yoghurt and fruits followed by various 'treats' of cheese, tomatoes, ham, quiche etc, also toast, bread, croissants and cakes with tea/ coffee. Carcassonne Guesthouse was excellent value for money. It surpassed many more expensive hotels etc I have previously stayed in. Top class cleanliness was evident in all areas. The location of this property sets it above numerous others in Carcassonne. The view of the medieval Cite from the terrace is splendid as one enjoys a leisurely breakfast while chatting to other lovely guests. Similarly, at night, the atmosphere of the balcony is enchanting as the Cite is lit up and the castle takes on an almost magical appearance. This BnB is ideally situated between the old and new cities of Carcassonne. It is within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, train station and the many sights.Last and certainly not least,Patrick the host is a charming, friendly and courteous man who is most attentive to his guest's needs. He is a talented Irish guy who is passionate about La France and is a fountain of knowledge on all matters Carcassonne and surroundings. P.S. If you have a free hour visit 'The Celt' off Carnot Place where you will experience a little taste of 'Ireland in France'.

The location is convenient for both the Castle and the square where there are plenty of restaurants and bars. Parking is super easy right outside the property; this is great as parking is difficult in other places. The view of the castle from the terrace is stunning. You have this view while having breakfast. Patrick was extremely helpful and gave us some great recommendations for places to visit and local eateries; his communication was spot on and replied to the many questions we asked prior to our arrival very patiently!
Nothing!

Lovely guesthouse, nice big room, very traditional French style, comfy bed and very clean. There is a lovely cool courtyard or a sunny terrace where we had breakfast overlooking the castle. Patrick the host is so helpful too. There is an easy shuttle bus from the airport for €6, get off at Dome and it’s a 3 min walk. I loved that everything is just a short walk, it’s a beautiful place to visit!

The view from the terrace where we had breakfast taking in the citadel of Carcassonne was remarkable. Patrick is a very helpful host, who gave us good advice about local sights, and excellent recommendations about where to eat. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. The location is close to the centre of the main town. The citadel and the railways station are within walkable distance. The guesthouse is an ideal spot to be based for exploration of the area.
Nothing to report.

Excellent french style breakfast inside as the normal terrace site for breakfast was a bit chilly. The host was brilliant, full of useful information about Carcassonne. And the situation was excellent with great views of the Cité and within easy walking distance of old and new Carcassonne.
The only minor down side as we were traveling by car was some uncertainty about parking close to the guesthouse. As it happens, someone moved out as we arrived and we were able to park very close, but you might have to wait or park further away. No problem with dropping off bags though.

It’s the PERFECT location, so close to the town, river and Citè. Very easy to get to from the airport too. The view from the terrace is great for general ‘people watching’ but also has a perfect view of the Citè - relaxed and romantic.
It’s so hard not to love the authenticity of this property. It’s praise and testament to the history and culture of the area. But you do need to be aware that late at night you need to be quiet as sound will travel.

The continental breakfast gave us a great start to the day after a great nights sleep in our lovely room. Perfect location, the views from the terrace were incredible and we enjoyed a few glasses of wine there in the evenings. Patrick is a lovely host and couldn’t do enough to help us. He made us feel very welcome from start to finish, nothing was too much trouble. Very relaxing stay and wonderful memories made! Would highly recommend!
There’s nothing we didn’t like.
