We loved our stay, this is a gem of a place, parking is free and there is plenty of it. The welcome from the hosts was fantastic and they were very unobtrusive. The grounds and property itself are stunning, so much history. We didn't want to drive in the evening so popped off at a supermarket on the way there to buy our dinner. You have use of a kitchen with fridge/freezer, utensils, microwave, cooker/oven, glasses, crockery and even a dishwasher. We ate our dinner in the front garden of the property. Then the breakfast, wow, so much choice and all fresh. Homemade preserves, break, ham, cheeses, fruit etc.

The location is beautiful, if a little difficult to access through the village. The grounds are so lovely and peaceful. Enjoying breakfast on the terrace with only the bird song to be heard. The advantage of the kitchen with facilities was a pleasant and useful surprise. If only our French was better to talk to Pierre, who was very welcoming to his family home.

It is just a little tired and needed a bit of redecoration in places, but that does create atmosphere perhaps. My trivial complaint is that there was no shelf at all within the shower unit which makes it a bit tricky having to keep bending down on a slippery floor to reach shampoo etc!

Highlight of our trip, a wonderful old chateau in a perfect setting, we genuinely struggled to leave this place. Very kind hosts welcomed us and also got up early Sunday to present a splendid and hearty breakfast so that we could leave early on bicycles. This was very kind of them, and much appreciated. There is a kitchen for guest use, which is a very useful and fuss-free for guests to refrigerate items, make toast, coffee etc... A very very special place, recommend walking down to the river for a swim. We also enjoyed a competitive game of pool in the games room.

A remarkable historic manor house in a quite rural setting. Large suites of rooms at a very reasonable price, which includes a generous breakfast spread. Comfy beds, good bathroom facilities. There is a kitchen available for residents, plus a lounge with pool table The grounds are also worthy of note, with many interesting mature trees including specimens of Catalpa, Liquidambar and Liriodendron, for example. Friendly and attentive hosts. We stayed on a Sunday so there were few restaurants were open, but we had a decent Japanese meal at Ichiban in St. Junien. We would definitely stay here again if in the vicinity.

We stayed here last year and didn't hesitate booking once again, the property is stunning and the hosts are so nice. It's not near any restaurants but you have a fully equipped kitchen to use so we took ingredients with us and cooked dinner and ate in the beautiful gardens. The breakfast was, once again, fantastic, so much choice and top quality. Highly recommended.

The location is very peaceful and quiet, the chateau is very well looked after for its age, obviously a family home, the breakfast area is in the main room, very cosy and traditional. The facilities available are very good. We were very impressed. Will recommend to anyone.

It was a wonderful experience being able to stay in such a historic building and the size of our bedroom and bathroom were amazing. We had lovely views across the gardens from our bedroom window. Being able to walk in the grounds of the Domaine was a bonus. We were grateful to find extra blankets and pillows in the bedroom wardrobe since the house felt very cold on the night of our visit (in mid September). Breakfast was very good and our hosts were welcoming without being intrusive. We would be very happy to stay here again - perhaps in warmer weather!

Having arrived from further south in France, we were not prepared for how cold the Domaine felt on the night of our visit - especially when just sitting and reading.

We loved the location - it felt remote with beautiful green wooded surroundings. The building itself was very impressive and the rooms lovely and spacious. Lots of character. Everyone was so helpful and friendly too. Pierre was quick to respond to all our questions and suggested we use the kitchen to make a quick supper which worked out perfectly. Breakfast was ample and delicious. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here. We wished we had longer.

Some more information on local walks and cycle rides would have been really helpful. We didn't have a lot of time sadly so an information sheet suggesting a good local walk and bike ride from the property would have allowed us to explore a little more easily.

An amazing location with a great host who welcomed us on arrival. The rooms were essentially an apartment suite giving us great privacy The breakfast was able to set us up for the entire day

Really quiet hotel, and spacious. As we travelled with our dog, the space around the castle was great to go a bit off-leash and play together. Impressive looking place.

It was fine for us as we were looking for a big and quiet place, there's really nothing around. The nearest town is Saint Junien and you must take the car to get car (around 20 min)
