The indoor pool was great and the size of our hotel room

We found that the staff were not that attentive especially in the breakfast restaurant at all. We asked for sugar to the table as we had none and they simply hand gave us 2 sachets! They were not helpful or obliging in anyway at all on the 3 days which we were there. The trouble was that we had to liaise with them to order our coffees and hot breakfast, but they were very not forthcoming to help at all and we had to chase for service. The front desk personnel were better but some were still not that helpful in our endeavours.

The location is perfect - a short walk to Old Lyon, Musee de Beaux Arts, the Opera, and a boatload of great restaurants & cafes. Lots of chic shopping nearby if you're into that. But the most wonderful thing was the three windows - actually French doors with diaphanous curtains - that opened to a view of the Rhone River. Totally worth it to get river view. I don't generally spend much time in my hotel room, but I found it such a pleasure, I didn't mind waiting an hour for my family to get moving. The pool was lovely as well, though it's designed more for soaking than swimming. Still it was very relaxing, especially after a hot day of sightseeing. And the staff was uniformly friendly & professional. If only every hotel could be like the Boscolo.

The hotel kindly upgraded us to an executive suite in order to accommodate a cot for my daughter. They did not charge us for the upgrade, which was quite generous. But then they charged us 100 euros a night for the cot. I don't mean to be ungrateful for the upgrade, but 100 euros/night for a cot felt a bit steep, particularly since we chose to forego all housekeeping services for our 3-night stay.

Everything was perfect the service the food the facility the location I have seen Lyon in another light thanks to them a way better service than what you get when you are in Paris in the same level of hotels I am usually a very difficult guest because I have very light sleep and when I am in a hotel I am looking for the ability to sleep peacefully without noise this hotel I would rate it 10/10 it’s like I was on my own island or in the desert the hotel was full but the room were well isolated and for me this is priceless if you want to have quiet time excellent room service while still being in the middle of the city one step from everything you need this hotel is for you plus the service is top notch I will definitely go back there when I get the chance

Ideally situated on the Rhône River in the Bellcour, Presqu'île area of Lyon, The Boscolo Hotel and Spa is an elegant gem of a hotel. From their location, you can reach virtually every point of interest easily and most are within walking distance. The photos one sees in their ads and online presence are accurate, in other words, what you see is what you get. What you can't see in their ads is the level of friendly, hospitable, and professional service shown by their entire staff. In particular, Ms. Michela B. is an exceptional hotelier who went above and beyond our expectations to make our stay comfortable, relaxed, and memorable. They also have a top-notch Italian restaurant and an excellent bar with a well-qualified mixologist. The rooms and facilities are spotless. The Boscolo Hotel and Spa is our top pick when traveling to Lyon, so much so, we will proactively seek this hotel brand in cities we will travel to in the future.

I was thoroughly impressed with this hotel. I enjoyed the stunning view of the river and the historic bridge from my spacious, clean room. The hotel bar is a cozy spot to unwind, and the breakfast is both hearty and delicious. The hotel staff were incredibly professional and accommodating. And let’s not forget the unbeatable location right in the heart of the city.

The rooms are extremely comfortable and lived up to expectation.

The checkin process as a family was poor. We were given access to the wrong room (already occupied). We had requested a connecting room (subject to availability) as it’s an upgrade to a river view room. The rooms where available at checkin - but had to push to get anywhere on arrival and only after the issue of getting wrong room access. Note responses to Booking.com messages are automated and do not get monitored by hotel (according to reception). The reception team seemed to be under the pump with lots of “in training” staff on the front desk, so perhaps that was the issue for them during our stay.

Only visited to attend a concert at the auditorium, and had just one night in Lyon. The hotel had a wonderful location by the river. The personnel at reception was polite, gregarious, and helpful. My room was very spacious, clean, with big windows opening up to a small balcony. I really liked the small ''The Little Prince'' details in the decoration. The bathroom was also spacious, the shower stall huge, lots of counter space for cosmetics. The bed was very comfortable, fluffy pillows very much appreciated. The lobby is very nicely decorated, and the restaurant looked great as well (although there was not time to try it)

I only regret that I didn't have time to enjoy the spa, or try the restaurant or breakfast. Next time for sure :)

Very helpful staff. Lovely room. Clean. Well equipped. Good selection of tea. Bed was big and comfortable. Spa is excellent (although we did not have any of the treatments)

Gym: too small, no water, only one (old & tatty) yoga mat. No kettle in room, so we had to make hot water in the coffee machine (which was not enough for tea) Shower in our room was a bit smelly Only international TV channel was CNN. These days all good hotels have smart TV.

Everything was fine.

We had kids with us and excess luggage for a train trip. A front desk " Dani " caused us to lose our excess luggage handing service in the train for 150 Euro. We requested a confirmation on luggage pick up as they usually speak french only. She had a follow up in their communication system by previous staff. She wasnt bothered and lied it was confirmed 3 times till the pick up day came and no one showed up for the luggage. Another staff rang the train company on the pick up day and they said no confirmation was done and no one called.

Breakfast was lovely, the reception staff will beyond wonderful, and the Bedroom was excellent.

Generally, the decor is wonderful, but the large public lounge area is under lit and miserable, with no visible staff to help with drink or snack orders And the staff at breakfast were pleasant, but nowhere near as efficient as the reception staff. They got things wrong a lot.
