Beautiful property with great views of the city. The room was very comfortable and the size was great with good toiletries, bathrobes and slippers. The food in the restaurant was excellent with a great selection of wines and the service was very good. Onsite parking and also easy access to the Fourviere funicular which takes you downtown to all the shops and restaurants.

The reception staff are efficient though there could be some flexibility with check/in as the hotel was far from full but we had to wait for 2 hours until the designated check in time. Not very customer service oriented.

- The hotel seems to be an old monastery based on its location and design - The rooms are big - Restaurant on site with a beautiful garden view and friendly staff - The hotel is relatively small, even if it's at its 100% capacity it's not crowded. - Great drinks at the bar - Friendly staff - Gorgeous lobby with a modern look throughout the hotel - Biggest garden in a hotel around the area, it gives castle vibes. - 10 minute walk from the Basilica of Notre Dame - I went during winter and it was cloudy, but the view must be spectacular in other seasons

- Individual beds are super small, smaller than usual in comparison to other hotels - Not close to downtown, it requires two transfers after a 10 minute walk, taxis/uber is a 13-20 Euros trip on way, and they charge 15+ Euros per day for car parking (Safe area tho parking area) - The sauna/jacuzzi location is on the main floor beside the restaurant, and in front of the bar AND there are no changing rooms, so I had to walk by naked butt under the robe through two floors and in front of the restaurants (restaurants have glass door/walls. It is a very inconvenient location to be walking around with slippers and a white robe while people are arriving at the hotel or eating.

Fabulous location for me but be warned it is not for people who want to explore the town but can't manage hills or stairs. The building is wonderful but the rooms are a little 'convent-like.' Very simple and no fridge or kettle but totally adequate other than that. Breakfast is great.

My shower never heated up - which I thought was taking the convent experience to another level! Seriously though, they said it had happened in a couple of rooms and seems like a pretty big oops for a high end hotel. Would have been even worse in the dead of winter. Ordered some pome frites (fries) at the bar and they were so loaded in salt they were inedible. Aside from those things I really loved the place.

The location The reception - stunning. Such a novelty to stay in an old convent. The reception area was beautiful. Nothing like I've seen before. The restaurant ambience. Those beautiful windows! just divine. The beautiful pool area The building and surrounding gardens -gorgeous

The bathroom although big, lacked a bit of finesse and warmth. The styling and decor didn't seem to match the vibe and hotel feel. Same with the bedroom. The metal bed head didn't look good and it was not pleasant to lean against whilst reading a book. A big rug/warmth was needed in this room

The hotel itself is an absolute gem of architecture with its original features and authentic foyer. The room was a bit awkward but you must undeserved it was once a convent. Only suggestion would be to put maybe night sensor light to the bathroom cos it's so so dark at night that I nearly killed myself trying to walk to it. Bed super comfy. Staff is friendly and in a professional manner. Breakfast is a bit of a let down. The room is to tiny and narrow so guests are bumping into each other while trying to grab the food. Also I totally agree with majority of previous reviews, it's definitely to expensive at 25e /person you would expect more then just a basics. And also please keep in mind its location which we loved but not everyone's cup of tea as its uphill and 20min walk to town.

I don't know where to start ... our stay was close to perfection: an amazing location, an exceptional site full of history and character, which has been revamped and tastefully decorated. The food was delicious, the drinks and wines were tasty, the swimming pool and spa were spaces of beauty and relaxation. I can't but sing the praises of the staff, who were professional, helpful and absolutely lovely. Attention to details and excellence "à la française" were the key words I would use to describe an enchanting stay whose memories I will treasure forever. It deserves a fifth star.

I wish I had booked a much longer stay in this heavenly hotel.

Overlooking Lyon, in a converted monastery, is the Fourvière Hotel with ample green space, parking and a fabulous lap-pool. Breakfast in the converted cloister was both delicious and plentiful. Our room was up one floor by elevator. Very clean and quiet - we slept like babies. From the hotel, we set forth on lovely walks: to the Roman Amphitheaters below, to the magnificent Basilica, along with squares and overlooks along the way and at every turn. I swam in blissful solitude in the outstanding lap-pool. There are eateries and restaurants for all tastes in the immediate vicinity of the hotel - all within walking distance. The views of Lyon and the mighty Rhône River were a sight to behold. A beautiful hotel and setting - in fact where Lyon (Lugdunum) was founded - see commemorative monument in the photos.

The layout of the hotel is very interesting and worth it to stay in the building. Close to city center, though must walk up and down a lot of hills. Hotel staff was very nice with 24/7 front desk. Large parking lot and they give you an exit ticket that expires at 1800 on check out date so you can still explore the city. 2 electric charging stations for vehicles.

They were slow on refilling breakfast food, so had to wait for all items to eat or go up and get it as soon as you saw them refill. Showers were nice, though it was not regulated temperature as it had spouts of really hot then back to warm.

When we arrived at the place we could not believe it. What an incredible sight, place and building. Everything just kept us incredibly glad that we paid to stay there. The lobby is in a church! A church! The most beautiful thing. And the restaurant has the most charming and beautiul view. The rooms were big and comfortable. And the bathrooms were great. The spa was nice (although a bit small) and we enjoyed it a lot. The breakfast is quite expensive, but they have a 'formule express" which is less than half the price and MORE THAN ENOUGH! The whole service was amazing, you can tell they are working towards a fith star. Is honestly staying at a five star hotel for the price of a 4 star. Cannot recommend enough.

If anything: Tv could be better, and windows in the rooms are quite tiny. But honestly: It did not affect our stay there at all!

Lovely place to stay for a real holiday. Beautiful building with courtyard where you can have excellent breakfast/dinner. Swimming pool (shape of a swimming lane) in the garden with chairs to sit and bar service. Room had separate shower room and WC. The area is touristy due to closeness of historical sites, but the hotel is inside a walled garden and very calm. Walking distance to funicular going to old town, to bus stops and lovely restaurant Bulle overlooking the city.

The beds were short and narrow. For tall people, the feet sticks out! We had no place to dry our pool towels so adding a place to hang them would be good. It surprised me that the hotel reserved a huge amount on my credit card upon arrival, be aware that they reserve an additional 100 euro per day for potential consumption that you may have during your stay (drinks, dinner etc).
