I couldn't help but notice upon arrival a smell of soap downstairs but also throughout my room! The staff was kind and very accommodating (don't hesitate to ask, if you have any questions). It was written before that the elevator starts on the 1st floor, no surprise there, and I had no problem with a bag and my little dog, who was also welcome there! My room was clean. The city is very nice and this place is in a "chic quartier". I arrived by car and parked in the nice "Parking LPA Célestins" which is less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel. FYI. from 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 a.m. I paid a little less than €30. Overall I felt safe. Good value for money too. I would definitely come back and I recommend. Merci Hotel Elysée!

Basic continental breakfast at reasonable price. Great location in business/shopping district in Lyon. Hotel stall very friendly and helpful.. Hotel is old but very well maintained and up to date. Access to breakfast room comprised a winding narrow staircase. Quaint old world charm, Nicely refurbished breakfast room looked like it previously served as a cellar.

Access to room is from first floor using stairs or lift that is very small. Access from ground floor reception is via a winding stair which was difficult to navigate with heavy luggage. Coffee/tea making facilities nor tissues were available in the room

Located in heart of all the shopping center, just beside Louis Vuitton store. Walking distance to old town, Basilica and major food joints. Clean rooms.

The elevator starts from 1st floor, you have to take stairs with your luggage from ground floor, so if you are staying in 1st floor, then the elevator is of no use. No kettle in the room, cheap plastic glasses. very small shower cubicle and heavier people will find it difficult to get inside. bonus: All the shops nearby remain close on Sunday in Lyon if you are planning a trip here. So location advantage of being nearby to all shops does not benefit.

Aside from having to carry luggage up to first floor this place is great. This is a European hotel with small elevator. Location was excellent and a great value. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Great communication emails explaining parking.

This is a very good hotel for the budget-conscious. It's location in the smart part of the city and the Old Town being just over the bridge makes it a very good value-for-money option when searching for a couple of nights stay in Lyon. The staff were friendly, the hotel is clean and our double-glazed comfort room looking over the street was perfectly adequate for our needs. The bed was comfortable, too. The reasonably-priced breakfast - yoghurt/bread/croissant/pain au chocolat/ coffee/orange juice was almost more than we could manage to eat! We are an older couple and have seen many examples of this type of traditional hotel over the many years we have been holidaying in France and it's so pleasant these days to find them - like the Elysee - updated and with air-conditioning, even if for some reviewers on this site, their expectations are much higher.

Good location, 10-15 minute walk from the old town, with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars within a 5 minute radius. Bellecour metro and other transport links are close by. The room was pleasant, a decent size for the room type. WiFi worked really well in the hotel (I was on the top floor). Extra cushion and blanket provided in the wardrobe in the room. Staff were very friendly, most notably the gentleman at reception when I checked in. When I stumbled over my French and went to revert to English he encouraged me to keep speaking French, which for someone currently learning the language is much appreciated! Property itself is well maintained and does have a charm to it. There may be more lucrative options nearby but I’d certainly stay here again.

The room, whilst tidy, certainly needs a bit of TLC, as is the case with most periodic properties. But it certainly didn’t make the room an uncomfortable place to stay.

The hotel is in an excellent location in the centre of Lyon, but with the feeling of being tucked away and peaceful. Our room was clean and comfortable. For breakfast we had croissants, orange juice and yoghurt with tea or coffee. The staff were always friendly and helpful.

One very small point - it would have been good to have tea/coffee making facility in the room.

Location was perfect. The room very well cleaned daily. Very easy to leave key at hotel and retrieve from attendant upon return. As in most cities, room and elevator are small but not a problem because I travel light.

Maybe remove rugs from rooms. They just do not stay clean. A tile floor would feel cleaner.

For the price was really nice. The staff were very nice to me and I enjoyed the location.

The way they serve the breakfast. You should tell what you want, but they only speak French. I would try to google the words, but there wasn't anything with the wi-fi passcode. To ask in the reception, I would need to go upstairs, so I gave up and ate what I could. But this was not a big deal, just something that can improve.

The room was very clean, comfortable and a good option for a one-night-stay.

My room was on the sixth floor and the property has no elevator on the first and the sixth floor. So if you’re travelling with lots of luggage like I did, you will struggle a lot to climb many stairs with your luggages. The staff offers to help but it was difficult.
