This is one of the nicest hotels where we have stayed in France. In fact, I would rated in the top 10 of our visit almost 50 countries. The hotel itself is beautiful in the old style, but with modern touches. The room was very comfortable and housekeeping cleaned up every day. most of the staff with whom we were spoken English and went out of their way to make sure we are enjoying our stay. The hotel has a spa and two pools: indoor and outdoor, but we didn’t get a chance to use those hotel is very well located parking cost about €35 a night, but you could drop your car off at the hotel (It might be a good idea to call the front desk when you’re about two minutes away so the concierge can come out and keep cars behind you from blocking your ability to back into a temporary parking place. From there, they would take it to a secure garage. Whenever we needed the car, it would be ready in a few minutes. I think breakfast cost €30 but I can’t remember but the food and service was excellent. Although some mornings we walked across the street to a patisserie for coffee and a croissant. I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough.

This is a lovely, comfortable Hotel perfectly located for all the attractions of Nimes and the old town. The rooms are lovely and the beds comfortable. I really enjoyed relaxing in the small indoor pool and sauna.

I would recommend using the hotel for accommodation only. Their restaurants and bar were very expensive, and the breakfast very mediocre and certainly not worth €36 a head! There are plenty of lovely cafes and restaurants near the hotel you can use for food. So, I would highly recommend accommodation only. Also, be careful when booking a treatment in the Spa, as I didn't get what I booked but a facial that was double the price (though it was excellent!).

Great experience. I love the warm welcoming with one of the staff opened the door for me, another one who take my luggage to the room, and the champagne that they offer. The room was big and could easily suit for 2 people. The bed was comfortable and I loved the shower there. Plus big bonus for having "Q-tips" in the bathroom. The hotel located near the Jardin de la fontaine and Maison Carrée, but it's possible to walk to the Amphitheatre as well. There is a bus stop near the hotel. Thank you for the welcoming :)

From the moment we arrived at L’Imperator Maison Albar we knew we had chosen the right hotel for our stay in Nimes. This is an EXCEPTIONAL 5-star hotel and has truly set the benchmark for luxury and hospitality. Every detail of our stay was meticulously catered to, making it a very memorable experience. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a very warm welcome from GM Romaric Blanvillain. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and we were shown around the beautiful facilities and on to our room by the charming Rievelinio. The hotel combines class, elegance and warmth, with beautiful interior decor and clever use of space and architecture. The pool is heavenly - in fact there are two pools to choose from, an indoor pool next to the spa and an outdoor pool with plenty of sun loungers and peace and quiet. By the pool we were looked after by Quentin with an impressive level of courtesy and efficiency. Breakfast was wonderful (thanks to Natalie and Romane) and served in a calm setting, with the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. What truly sets L’Imperator apart is the exceptional service provided by the team and the way they make guests feel. Many hotels try to be hospitable because that is their job, they are ‘paid to smile’, but the Albar staff are happy to be there and show genuine care for each guest- even remembering guests names when greeting them. Special mention to the Hero’s Pierre and Benjamin, who both went above and beyond in their assistance and care. And the exceptional Fabien (so speedy) Tristan and Frederic, Kaoutar, Doriane, Karla, Clara, Maxime, Imrane, Sabah and Claire. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a truly exceptional stay. We have already re-booked to stay again…it is worth visiting Nimes just to stay at L’Imperator.

We loved the location! We really enjoyed the outside lounging area. The staff were very attentive to serving you and focused on all the details. We can’t comment on the spa as we never visited it. One moment that is worth highlighting, is that when it was time to depart the hotel to catch our train, we had asked concierge to order us a taxi and they kindly did. Unfortunately, the taxi was quite delayed due to being stuck in a traffic jam so the head of the front desk arranged to have one of the hotel chauffeurs take us to the station in the luxury hotel vehicle free of charge! I would recommend staying here.

The outside lounging area and bar was delightful. It was tastefully furnished with very comfortable sofas and chairs in configurations for different group sizes. It was quite serene. There were lovely trees and vegetation and there was shaded covered area and a sunny area.

What can we say, this Hotel is fantastic and we are so glad that we booked it, indoor and outdoor pools, spa, spa treatments, great restaurant lovely rooms and the staff are very attentive and really look after you. Would like to say a special thank you to the hotels Director/Manager who on multiple occasions took time out to make sure we as guests were enjoying our stay and everything was to our satisfaction, thank you.

The welcome was exceptional. Pierre on Reception was very helpful at all times. On arrival we had our bags whisked away to be stored by reception whilst we checked in. We were shown to comfy seating in reception, brought cold drinks and Pierre checked us in as we sat comfortably. A great start to our stay, and made one feel very welcome. The bedroom was extremely quiet despite being opposite the lift and overlooking the terrace area. All the staff were really helpful and polite. We had an email during our stay asking for feedback and we replied mentioning a couple of issues. The duty manager sought us out on the terrace the next morning as we were about to leave, to apologise. We assume they had asked to be notified by Reception when we were there. We really liked the staff service. All the staff were so nice.

The lift. Whilst it was old, picturesque lift it was extremely hard to get in and out of. The outer doors were half width and heavily sprung so I could not get both halves open on my own to use the lift. The spa area pool was even smaller than I expected which was disappointing. Then one end of the pool was jacuzzi type area which made the pool even shorter. Not suitable for swimming. The Hamman steam room was out of order. Massages or other treatments were too expensive. We did not know the prices before we booked a room. All the spa was disappointing for us as it had been a key factor in us choosing to stay here and wasn't what we expected.

We found that all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The building and interior are wonderful, and we liked the overall feeling of the hotel. The indoor pool in the spa was small but the water temperature was perfect and there was an effective pump for swimming. We checked out the outdoor pool and it was larger, with a bar (we will stay in the summer next time!)

The hammam was out of order, which was the main attraction for staying at the hotel. I did not see any information about this before our stay either so I think this is something that should be communicated to guests.

The first standout is the staff. All very welcoming, professional and friendly. From check in, to the young man who greeted us at the door and the staff at the bar or restaurant. If it is this hotels objective to have staff offer superb service, I think they have done a great job. We even had the manager introduce himself and make the effort to farewell us as we left. We loved the location, a short walk to the old town and Roman ruins. It’s a nice stroll to anywhere along the canal.

We though breakfast could have been a little more impressive. The service was lovely but we have had more memorable, delicious breakfasts. Needs fine tuning. Compared to everything else we experienced, this was the only let down. We were also handed a menu and not given a minute to look at it before the lady wanted to take our order. Not ideal.

From the moment you arrive you experience a level of professionalism, attention to detail and genuine warmth. The manager personally greets you, your luggage is whisked to your room (which is serviced twice daily) the welcome violet lime and soda drink is the perfect tonic. Every member of staff is warm and helpful. The room is beautiful, huge bathroom and both pools clean and inviting! As close to heaven as you get on earth. Can’t wait to go back !

Not a single thing to fault.
