My 5 day stay at Welcome Apartments was a part of a 2-weeks round-trip on Crete and met all my expectations in terms of location of this wonderful family-run place and how the service-minded and helpful staff made me feel warmly welcomed. Situated right in the outskirts of the former fishing village named Georgioupolis, approx. 33 km East of Chania on the North coast of Crete. Georgioupolis has such charm, good beaches and excellent restaurants. Eucalyptus trees and flowers everywhere around town. In Georgioupolis people can even book horseback riding on the beach or make boat-trips. I easily found my way to Georgioupolis by public transport from Chania Airport by taking one direct bus to Chania for 2.30 €, and then a second bus from the same station directly to Gerorgioupolis for 4.10 €. Many of the guests at Welcome Apartments, as elsewhere, get around by rental cars, but even for me who enjoy walking it was an ideal place to retreat after a day on the beach, in town or after excursions, as it's only approx. 1.5 km away from the centre or beach. It's easy to get to the centre of Georgioupolis by taxi for 5€ - 6€. Each apartment come with a balcony and while the studio apartments come with a fridge and coffee maker, the larger apartments come with fully fitted kitchens with kitchenware, which is important to bare in mind if planning to do your own cooking during your stay and easily prepare breakfast. The swimming pool appeared as clean and inviting surrounded by plenty of seating, sun beds and gardens. Further up the hill in Exopoli, 1,1 km away and in walking distance to the apartment you find the lovely little church Ιερός Ναός Κοιμήσεως, worth visiting from where you enjoy wonderful views. There's a tavern on the way where to dine. After talking to other guests at Welcome Apts, my impression is that Welcome Apts is a place that guests love to return to :-)

There was nothing about the apartment or my stay that I disliked. However, if this place had a food serving option connected to the apartments other than coffee at the pool, then I'm certain that it would've been well received by the guests. Apartments tend not to be connected to a restaurant the way hotels are, and there are some dining options within walking distance in various directions as well as in town, so I'm pleased, and besides there are plenty of supermarkets in town. Be aware there are few streetlights on the roads in general, so people must be aware if making a stroll down to the centre late or getting back from there after dark on foot.

my ground flr apartment had 2 patios. one off the living room overlooking the parking and hillside beyond the road. the other off the bedroom overlooks the valley and mountains. decor is clean and modern. hot water in the shower and kitchen. parking right outside my door. proper clothes hangers, safe, pool towels provided. housekeeper was there at the property waiting for me to arrive, even though i was delayed for an hour due to ferry / traffic conditiions. checkout was simply leaving the key in the door. quick response from housekeeper to my requests.

housekeeper lacked attention to detail. property listed for self-catering but there was no cleaning sponge, tea towel or drying clothes. the hairdryer doesn't work. the replacement also doesn't work. finally the 2nd replacement worked. the apartment was cold at night (end october), despite turning the heating on full blast in both the bedroom and living room. no blankets provided. had to request for them, otherwise impossible to sleep. the swimming pool wasn't heated so its too cold for october.

We had a fine view over the lush valley and mountains from the rear balcony and a view towards the coast from the other one. A clean and comfortable apartment and fantastic service from Maria. She really went out of her way to make us welcome and offered to help in any way when we went down with a stomach bug. She also ordered a well priced taxi to Chania on the day we left. Her father was always busy about the place and kept everything ship-shape.

We had a ground floor apartment which looked over the carpark. If I had thought about it earlier I would have requested a room above. But I really have no niggles. This was a great choice.

The pool was wonderful and a great selling point for the accommodation. We loved being able to go to the pool at any point. It’s in a quieter area, outside of the main town but still very walkable from it, which was nice to be somewhere more serene with incredible views. Maria was absolutely incredible and helped us out with so many things making our stay very smooth! The apartments themselves are also lovely and clean

The distance from town is about a 20 minute walk, and easily done in order to not have to get a taxi to/from the town which are about 5/6€ each. Although the apartments aren’t in the town centre, they’re easily accessible and we loved being able to walk a bit.

While a car was necessary to reach the apartment, the location was truly unbeatable. Although slightly secluded, the apartment's location provided easy access to nearby attractions, ensuring that I could explore the surrounding areas at my leisure. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. From the moment I arrived, they greeted me with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Their attentiveness and willingness to assist with any request made me feel like a valued guest. They provided helpful recommendations for local attractions and dining options, ensuring that I made the most of my stay. Their dedication to creating a memorable experience was truly commendable. One of the standout features of this apartment was the exceptional value it offered. The apartment itself was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, providing all the necessary amenities for a relaxing stay. In conclusion, the serene location, friendly staff, and outstanding value made it a true hidden gem. While a car was necessary to reach the apartment, it provided a peaceful escape and a chance to reconnect with nature. I highly recommend this apartment to fellow travelers who are seeking a tranquil and affordable getaway.

Super friendly, Maria and her dad basically. Small set up, no frills, but that is what we wanted; for example only ever two other people at the pool, which had no harsh chemicals in it, so you can open your eyes without them stinging. Good location, about 1500m from the sea front. Sea views from our balcony. Good WiFi, for free. Rooms cleared of rubbish on a daily basis. Comfy beds. High ceilings, double aspect room.

No serviced pool bar, or mini market (if that's your thing) but we liked it because there was no bar (and therefore no late night noise).

We loved the location. The garden at the front and the balcony with a sea view. The pool was beautiful. We liked that you could walk to the taverna up the road via a short cut. We thought Naria’s communication was excellent. And beautifully clean.

Minor irritations - a sharp knife and a tea towel would have been useful but that’s small in comparison to the positives. We’d have appreciated a shower head holder for when we showered but recognise this isn’t a local thing!

The appartments are surrounded by beatuiful foliage that the keepers are rightfuly proud of. The staff is really kind and helpful, you are made to feel at home. The pool is nice, so is the view, the beds are comfortable. It gets nice and cool in the evenings.

The kitchen can be called so purely theoreticaly. Using it is hard, because there is no room. A family of four can not eat on the balcony because it's too narrow. We had a leaky toilet and the groundskeeper told us he will fix it tomorrow, after 5 days, we left, toilet still leaking. Our firends in the next apartment didn't have the trash collected for a few days.

Very nice family, super helpfull, provided suggestions for things to experience and restaurant to visit. Always available on phone if any questions. Plenty of room and sunbeds around the pool and not super crowded. Really liked visiting this place, and got a lot of value for money.

Only thing missing for the studioapartment was the ability to cook or heat a small meal, and missing forks, knives and plaids - but Im sure they would provide it if asked. Would get 10/10 if there was a little bar at the hotel, and the athmosphere at the place really invites for a shared dinner once a week at the terrace by the pool!

Nice, modern appartment and very friendly hosts! Maria gave us many nice recommendations regarding day trips. Location is very good when you have a (rental) car. WiFi was way better then expected after we read other commands.

Short intro upon arrival would be nice. Kitchen could have some more basics like oil, salt, pepper or a spatula.
