We really liked the location in Karterados, away from the noise of the very touristy Fira, but still just a 15-minute walk away from it. Pavlina is a wonderful and smiley host, helpful, both with indications and suggestions, and always providing logistic help with taxi rides when needed. The pool was a great plus, allowing a perfect downtime in between activities. The rooms were impeccable and very clean. We only stayed three nights as Santorini was just one stop on our Egean trip, but we would not hesitate to stay more.

Very little to say here, just a personal preference for harder mattresses

I felt very comfortable at Villa Pavlina. I travel a lot, but I have never seen such a clean house anywhere in the world. I would give a lot more points for this and also for the contact with the owner. The host is a lovely, friendly, attentive, helpful woman. I was very grateful and surprised when she gave me a piece of delicious homemade banana cake. I had a cute little balcony by the room, which was nice. Next time I would ask for a slightly larger room though. For a few days the size of the room was ok, but I need a bit more space for longer. The location of the house is good, it's a bit hidden between other buildings and away from the hustle and bustle of the center - but I liked it because it was quiet. It was also nice because I felt like I was closer to the locals than other tourists. I walked around the area a lot - or took the public bus if I wanted to go further. It was a very pleasant stay and I would happily come back.

I have nothing to complain about. The only thing I've already mentioned is that even if I don't spend much time in the accommodation because I'm exploring the surrounding area, I would need a bigger room for a longer stay. But I could have asked for that beforehand. :) Therefore: Everything was fine.

Set down the lanes of a very traditional old Town, you will find this quaint accommodation next to a lovely little church. The local town is Karterados which doesn't have much going on, although "To Fagopoti" is a local restaurant worth a visit. Some restaurants rely on spectacular views, not To Fagopoti. They offer food made with passion and tradition. They are popular, on some nights they could get busy, suggest booking ahead just in case. There are a few little vantage points around town where you will get at least a partial nice view of the island out to the sea. Find "Erotokritos Cretan Bakery" for breakfast pastries and fresh fruit juice and/or coffee. You'll thank me. FYI the best local supermarket is directly next door to the bakery. Our room at Villa Pavlina was very basic, but at an exceptionally good price. Rooms were cleaned daily. Beds were comfy. Aircon worked. It was lovely having a few sun loungers and a pool (see photo of me swimming a few widths). If you are staying here, chances are you are on a budget. If you arrive by ferry and looking to save unnecessary expenses and you’re traveling light, wait for the local bus, and ask to be dropped off near Karterados. Sometimes the local bus may only show up half an hour after the ferry has left.

Despite the good value, lovely patio area and friendly people at Villa Pavlina, our shower, or in particular, the shower curtain rails, left virtually no room to shower. Okay, I’m a big bloke, but even my 14 year old son and 16 year old daughter complained of not having enough space to shower without the curtain clinging to your body. I took a picture of a pair of sliders in the shower, but it doesn’t really show how tight the space is once a body is in there. The walk into Fira town is not a particularly pleasant 20 minute walk, and the pavements are a state. In London they would be considered a health hazard. It’s not a pleasant way to start and finish each day’s adventures, but I suppose it’s a necessary compromise that this price.

Villa Pavlina is in an excellent location and just an easy walk to Fira, with good local eateries also within walking distance. It is super clean, comfortable, and quiet. The owner is lovely and very helpful. She even brought us some homemade cake for breakfast one morning. The bus stop from the ferry port is also close by. We wholeheartedly recommend Villa Pavlina and would stay there again if we come back to Santorini.

The apart and the pool was very clean. There is a very small grocery at less than 5 min walk and the bus stop to go to Fira is +/- 10 min walk.

From de main street you have to walk in some small narrow lanes to get to the apartment, although it is only for 2 min and the signs are very clear with several signs, the path is a bit not reassuring considering there are abandoned houses/apartments and I was traveling alone with my teenager daughter.

Clean and well equipped apartments in a good location with supermarkets, restaurants and car rental nearby. There is a mini pool and shared sun terrace with sun beds available in the court yard. The host helped to organise our car hire, which went very smoothly.

We had a question and couldn't find our host immediately in reception. A phone number was available though but I did not try as we managed to get in touch personally in the meantime.

We absolutely loved this property. Staff were so lovely and super helpful. The location was great, we had the supermarket and heaps of food locations also. Fira was about a 20 minute walk, which was honestly great! Everything was clean, the pool was great to sit by and it was quiet in comparison to main areas.

We loved everything!

Soon as we arrived we loved how clean and quiet it was the owner was very welcoming and helpful, even helped us with our luggage. We stayed in a double room with balcony which was lovely and clean with really nice decor. Location was great too could reach thira with 15-20 walk or very short taxi ride.

Only small thing was wish the shower was a bit wider other then that no complaints!

Everything was perfect Pavlina keeps everything absolutely pristine! I don’t think we have ever stayed anywhere so spotlessly clean it was fantastic. Everything matched and was done in beautiful Greek traditional colours. Shower excellent and hot with free toiletries. Immaculate small pool and outside space. 15 minute walk to Fira and car hire round the corner. Would highly recommend….

Absolutely nothing

The hosts were very welcoming, offered to order airport transfers if needed, explained about the island and attractions, and helped us book a tour to the volcano. The rooms are small, clean and have everything needed. The hotel is close to the cafes, shops and bus stops. You can also easily go to Fira by foot.
