I rarely give a 10 in reviews, but this place and its lovely host Elenia certainly deserve it. When Elenia welcomes you and shows you the guesthouse, you immediately feel home. The houses are so nice and created with love. We can confirm all the good things, that were mentioned in the other reviews. Combined with the great atmosphere of Xerokampos, which is still untouched by mass tourism and didn't change much over time, we spend a wonderfull Holiday week there. A few of the most beautiful beaches of Crete are only a few minutes by car. Most of the taverns in Xerokampos, which we all liked or loved, can be reached by foot in max. 15 minutes. This is one of the unique places we are all looking for in our Holidays, but which are not easy to find. A clear recommendation!

Such a beautiful property with historic charm, clean, conveniently located (for this desolate destination!!) I can not say enough good things about the property, but more importantly, about the MOST GRACIOUS, KIND, CARING, SINCERE AND LOVELY HOST. I was brought to tears with her kindness and treatment of her guests. The pride of their home shows in the presentation and care given to the property and the guests… unforgettable memories… XOXO

Not a thing

Lithos is beautiful. The feel of the houses are like that of ‘Beauty and the Beast’. You feel as though you are in a fairy tale.. they are so cozy, beautiful, and homey. Amazingly clean and everything you could want. The kitchen is stocked so you can cook, there is a mini market nearby with fresh produce and dry goods if you decide to do so. Eleni also was kind enough to leave a fruit plate in the fridge as well as yogurt, honey, jam, and bread. The bathroom was wonderful, and so was the bedroom. You will sleep like a rock! It is cool even in the heat of July, and there were two outdoor spaces you could lounge in and view the sea. Xerokambos is a quiet place with the most amazing soft sandy beaches I have ever seen. Each of the 4 houses at Lithos are themed to a different element that is prominent in Xerokambos. Sun, wind, olives, and the moon. Of course, the greek translation of the words. The houses are elegantly themed to the element they are named for. It is an enchanting experience to stay here! Eleni and her husband are the kindest people! She will make sure you are looked out for and is very available. Highest regards!

Absolutely nothing

After going to Lithos for two years in a row, we would like to thank Eleni for her hospitality, kindness and her positivity, as well as her warm welcome. Eleni is much more than a host, she is a person full of happiness, kindness and respect. We highly recommend this very typical apartment, filled with charm and calm. It is 10-15 minutes from the beaches on foot and 5 minutes from the restaurants. Plus some restaurants deliver directly to the apartment what is convenient! Beautiful house with very lovely details, high class quality and traditionally designed. Like a small castle, fully eqipped with everything you need. Best bed we ever slept in. All the beautiful beaches of Xerokampos are close, as of course the taverns. We felt so very welcome by the nicest host Eleni. Some day we will visit you again , thank you so much ! Keep it up !

We stayed not longer

Host is the kindest person on the planet. The house is so well decorated you fill like in a fairy tale. I have no words enough for the hospitality I received. Thank you!!! It's also really close to the seaside, you can go on foot. One of the best places I've been to in Xerokampos, and I have been to several.

We loved the warm, friendly Greek welcome from Eleni. A true gem of a lady. I have been travelling to Crete twice a year for 10 years and explored all over the island. This is one of the most exceptional accommodations I have stayed in. The house, the attention to detail truly shows. You can tell that Eleni and her husband have put their heart and soul into creating these finely crafted traditional homes. This stay was towards the end of our travels and we are only sorry we didn’t book here for the whole 2 weeks.. we won’t make that same mistake again ;) if you want to get away from tourists, explore the very best beaches Crete has to offer, experience a little bit of heaven on earth and a warm traditional & tranquil Greek stay then you must visit xerokampos and Lithos houses :) can’t wait for next year ❤️

Dear Eleni , what a wonderful experience to have stayed in your beautiful house. The room was spacious , a fully equipped kitchen , everything very clean and a wonderful bed ! We loved exploring all nearby small bays and beaches and enjoyed swimming and having the beach to ourselves You are the most kind and welcoming person every guest would dream off. Nothing... wish we could have stayed longer

Beautiful location, quiet, convenient. The residences are designed with love and attention to detail. From the decor to the electrical installations, you will find thoughtfulness behind all things. The kitchen is well-equipped and you will arrive to a stocked fridge so you do not have to stress about much until you find your bearings around town. There are two mini markets nearby and more stores 20 minutes away at Zakros. We stayed for two weeks and the place had everything we could use in terms of amenities. The owners are incredibly hospitable and discreet, ready to take care of you or leave you alone. Little treats will await you at times. The owners also have a boat and could plan a trip to the nearby island if the weather permits. The location is a good balance for privacy but not total isolation from civilization. There are no bars or clubs in the area thankfully so there is no noise besides the cicadas ans the birds :) There are numerous beaches walking distance and driving distance. You can go to a different one every day and not get bored. Even when windy, you can usually find a nook to swim in that is calm. There are many good places to snack and eat in the area or at the nearby villages. The location is great for excursions to several places 30 to 60 minutes away. Overall, you will not find much better for the value. Whether you come for three days or three months, it will be a hard place to leave. We look forward to returning!

This is an outstanding property. The building is designed to resemble ancient Minoan dwellings but every detail is meticulously cared for, materials and colors are carefully selected and the result is stunning: you live in a 4-thousand-years old house with a very nice and pleasant decor and all the modern comforts (such as private - and free - parking, air conditioning, refrigerator, coffee machine...). Manager very nice and enthusiastically welcoming. Abundant supplies of food for breakfast. I wish to go back there and spend more time in the (near, hopefully) future.
