Wide choice for breakfast - cereals to cooked bacon, eggs etc Pleasant ambience, friendly and helpful staff, spacious bedroom with large, comfortable bed. Great shower! Our room overlooked the garden and was very quiet. Convenient location - a short walk to town centre, bus terminus, harbours etc hilly, with steep paths to the hotel, but this leads to far ranging views. Copenhagen restaurant is a lovely dining experience, a real treat.

Nothing, really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is lovely and is everything you could want. Location, for me, was excellent and my room was perfect for what I needed. The staff are very polite and friendly, there is really nothing particularly to dislike although the cooked breakfast could have been better. I will definitely be staying here again.

The only thing that could be improved is the cooked breakfast. Some days my scrambled egg resembled thick soup and the grilled tomatoes were always just warm and very undercooked. Making scrambled eggs and grilling, or even baking tomatoes is not Michelin star stuff and could have made the breakfast far more enjoyable.

Hotel de Havelet is an exceptionally well run hotel, every member of staff knew exactly what they were there for and the level of service provided by everyone was first class. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean, the breakfast and coffee was delicious and well prepared. The food and service in the restaurant was excellent and great value for money. The bar prices were fair and reasonable. The location was a rather steep ten minute walk uphill from town but very good exercise and in a quiet residential area which ensured a good nights sleep - much better than down in the very busy town. All staff members were extremely polite and helpful in a friendly way - nothing was too much trouble.

On arrival we were disappointed with the view from our room - we were expecting a view of the harbour and marinas. There may have been one once but the very splendid trees now block it and the only views of the sea are from the restaurant and terrace. However, now we know this, it would not stop us from returning to this lovely hotel.

Great location - was only about 10 minutes walk from the St Peter Port bus terminus (from the airport). Room was pretty big, with ample space in both the bedroom and bathroom, with ironing board, iron, kettle and hairdryer all available in the room. Tea/coffee/chocolate was stocked each day, and room was well cleaned throughout (2 night) our stay. Fantastic spa facilities as well - swimming pool, towels, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room all a luxury added touch. We stayed in December, so the temperature in the room was also very pleasant. Someone was also available on reception until 10pm each day, and all staff we encountered were very friendly.

Really nothing, everything was really nice.

It is a lovely hotel with lots of character in a quiet location with great views. Very comfortable and clean bedroom. Loved the little tunnel from main reception to the restaurant and bar. Particularly enjoyed using the swimming pool, jacuzzi, etc. Extremely hard working, friendly staff. It was very busy as coming into Christmas season and you never saw a staff member who was not smiling.

Nothing really. It suited us for 2 nights. Overall the property is fairly well maintained although it is showing signs of wear and tear in some areas, particularly our en suite but it was very clean and you could not fault the staff service. We didn’t mind but for those who may struggle with hills, be warned it is situated up a steep hill.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and also warm, which was good because the weather outside was absolutely foul! (Remember storm Darragh?) Breakfast was very nice, though the pricing on the menu had me wondering how much breakfast was actually going cost, until the waiter enlightened me that I was on an inclusive deal so it was just one set price no matter what I had.

Nothing that I didn't like.

Friendly helpful staff, lots of outdoor spaces, several eating and drinking locations both indoors and outdoors, some with beautiful views over Havelet Bay and Castle Cornet. The breakfast was excellent with a diverse buffet and wide range of cooked options. The Copenhagen restaurant was lively and served another wide range of good quality meals. The room and especially bathroom was of a very good standard.

The air conditioning in our room sometimes didn't work, although there was a fan that we could use at night time. When we eventually mentioned this to staff it was dealt with immediately. The steep climb from the bottom of the Val des Terres was a bit much, although the alternative route back from town up through Hautville (and past Victor Hugo's house) was less painful and more interesting! We noted the defibrillator outside the reception with some amusement!!

The room was quiet, comfortable and secluded near the swimming pool. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was generally very good. The hotel went that extra mile for us. As it was our Ruby Wedding Anniversary, they brought Prosecco and strawberries to our room as a surprise. This was very much appreciated.

There were just a few hiccups - only 1 clean glass was provided in our room on 2 of the days we stayed there instead of 2 glasses, but this was rectified when I mentioned it to reception, so they were very responsive. Just be aware that it is a very steep hill walking back from town. In my younger days, this was no problem, but now with arthritic hips it was a bit of a push! When you get there though, the view over the bay is wonderful and the hotel is great.

This is our 2nd stay at Le Havelot and it won't be our last. There are fabulous views over the harbour and the rooms are very comfortable. The Pool jacuzzi facilities are excellent with lovely comfortable sun beds both around the pool and in the garden. The food is really good and the service excellent.Very friendly place. The shuttle service down and back from the town was very welcome as it is on the top of a steep hill. Highly recommended

The air conditioning in the room was disturbing at night and it was in the morning that we found the off switch. Lack of information on controls in the room

A very good choice of hot and cold items for breakfast. Staff welcoming, lovely pool facilities. Comfortable room.

Personally I like to see yoghurt kept cool on the table. The ladies changing room for the pool was unbearably hot, not sure what it would have been like in the middle of Summer. Afternoon tea whilst it was nice I would have expected something a little more special for the sandwiches, didn't like the cheese and tomato offered. Macaroons and chocolate brownie a bit boring too.
