The staff were great, helpful and happy. The room was exceptional (room CG129). It was a huge room with lounge, fridge, fan, two air cons, coffee maker, upper level bathroom and all amenities. The bed was comfortable, clean and soft. The street market selling everything you could possibly imagine is less than 200 meters down the road. I stayed four nights and could easily have stayed more. It was raining for a couple of the days so it was handy to have a restaurant and cafe onsite. The food is tasty but overpriced as one would expect of a fancy establishment.

A respectful suggestion: when clients checkin they almost need an induction to the property and to be shown where everything is. I came across a few people aimlessly wandering trying to find the cafe and restaurant.

This is a heritage property in the middle of the old city. The hotel has been decorated with lot of care and thought. The little details are important and thoughtful. The pool was a refuge after long days in the business of town.

Given the fact that this hotel is on a main busy street get ready to hear horns all the time during day and late at night as well, the first 3 days we were in suite where this wasn’t the issue then we got moved to another suite because of Maintaince issues with window facing the street. So if you are light sleeper I would recommend asking for a room in the back. The chakra spa was great for massages and aagashiye was a great restaurant for dinner one night. The staff is great, very attentive sometimes too attentive.

Stunning heritage property, friendly staff, very clean, with a lovely homely & nostalgic feel. The rooftop restaurant Agashiye is in a beautiful setting with mouth-wateringly delicious food served by friendly & efficient staff, along with melodic live music. Great location to roam the old streets & tour the amazing heritage sights of old ahmedabad.

Service could be better at the green house restaurant (where breakfast is served) - the waiters are poor at attending to guests. Our accommodation was a beautiful spacious suite, but unfortunately the sound of the TV & chatter from the room next door kept us up all night - the soundproofing is very poor, which I suppose is to be expected from such an old building.

The property itself is beautiful and my room was spacious, well-appointed, with nice linens. Everyone working there, from the front desk to room cleaning was very helpful and congenial - someone at the front desk even helped me locate a hair salon and the general post office.

This hotel is special and I will stay here again when I return to Ahmedabad. My problem has to do with the loud noise of pots and pans banging between 11 and 12 every night. My room (314) was not near the kitchen so I really do not understand where the noise was coming from. If the noise was gone, I would rate House of MG a 9 or 9.5.

The hotel is like a beautiful museum, I appreciate such a tribute to history. Good staff, regular cleaning. Very nice beverages like mixed juices and lassies.

The room service staff regularly made mistakes with orders or did not understand English. Also, the service was sometimes very slow (once they never brought us a cola). Some rooms do not match the photos on booking and are located in the basement. We thank the hotel staff for changing the room at our request.

The hotel is beautiful and immaculately designed, furnished, maintained and looked after. The food is excellent - we had the Gujarati thali in the terrace restaurant - Agassi. And also had dinner in The Green House It felt luxurious.

The staff are polite but it is often not clear whether what has been agreed is actually going to take effect and a couple of times the end result took far too long to be achieved. But, the major disappointment was being woken up at 4:45 am and then again at 5:47 am by hammering/banging and heavy items being moved on the floor from what appeared to be a room above. Our visit otherwise would have been 10/10.

We liked that this was a locally owned property because the options we considered were the chain hotels. The hotel is ideally located where the new city meets the old. The staff and the ambiance were great. We participated in the morning heritage walk which was exceptional value. The restaurant, food and staff are very welcoming and accommodating and we had to do our best to limit our intake! The efforts by the owners to maintain and share their pride in the local heritage is something that spoke to us. We were very happy that we chose this hotel for our stay.

Nice location that can walk to explore old city area, easy to take taxi to many place. The staff really helpful espeacialy when you have to follow the state regulation or some document issue.

Because is renovate from the house to hotel , some room planning is too big or too small, too much variety of room layout and many waste space around you. Some furniture for example the working chair- is not practicle and have a high level match with table. It can’t useful. Our room the door lock broken from the first day that we are there. Just some not practicle thing follow the building vondition make you not smooth when you stay. Other is nice

Excellent location, amazing textile museum, rooftop restaurant and the "Lotus Pool" is unforgettable. Old city of Ahmenabad is such an outstandig yet unspoiled by tourists place. I loved it very much. Especially the stepwell, Sarkez Roza Mosque, Sidi Zayed Mosque, Bazars, MOIN Samoza

I ordered a taxi via the hotel and although I showed the night receptionist the ticket, he was not able to instruct the taxi driver correctly, so I finally missed my train to Udaipur and an experience of train travelling, which was a pity, I than went, organized by my son, who had an Indian cell phone by taxi/uber.

Absolutely superb heritage hotel. Our suite was amazing, and staff went out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Food at Green house restaurant was just fantastic. If you are planning to stay in Ahmedabad, this has to be the place.

On night we booked to go to Agashiye, the person at Agashiye desk was rude and kept on talking to another staff about his personal life instead of focusing on customer. Apart from that, there was not another thing we did not like.
