nice & quiet rooms, windows keep the street noise outside, great bathrooms, top cleanliness & powerful AC (that's not in each hotel in Indonesia the case), great and very varied breakfast (Indonesian and international, next to the rooftop pool), excellent food quality in the evenings in the rooftop restaurant too, 5 pieces per day laundry for free, 15 mins walk from Braga street, a mall including supermarket and many cafe's and eating places about 5 mins away - the best hotel I have stayed in in Indonesia, really a nice place, not perfect, but pretty high level for a independent hotel not part of any of the big chains - it has really nice/ unique features & strengths which (by far) outweigh the improvable aspects...

The room service appeared sometimes a little unorganized... they show up sometimes fairly early in the morning/ at inconvenient times and would ring the bell several times... English level of the staff besides the reception is often very modest (the receptionists have a fair English level), some Europeans appreciate to be able to take the stairs instead of the lift, unfortunately this was not possible... so you are forced to take the lift for moving between only two floors even (which is a pity for energy use and your physical condition), internet sometimes a bit on a slow side... you hear the people in the neighboring room taking showers a little loudly... but as this typically only takes a few minutes, I did not find it too disturbing

The location is very close to mall, eateries and is quite centralized to many places. The parking valet is very convenience. And all staff are very helpful and hardworking.

I was at room 109. The balcony is facing windows to offices on the next building. The air outlet of the next building is also facing my balcony. Other than just for smoking, you can’t relax or chill at the balcony. And I can’t open the curtains for my room as it is directly facing someone’s office. We can actually see people working in their office. Very close proximity.

Location was great; next to a shopping mall where I can get some essentials and I could walk to Braga St in 10min. Spacious and comfy room. Friendly staff.

Sound isolation wasn't good. I could hear street noise and sound from the bar. I did not get a chance to enjoy the breakfast at rooftop because of the limited space. The hotel's 24-hour accommodation model instead of the usual nightly model means the room may not be ready when you check in, which requires some getting used to.

The design is awesome, which is one of the reasons we chose this hotel. Location is great if you like to be close to Jl Braga, train station and shopping mall with supermarket. Rooftop bar and pool looked great but we didn't have chance to be there except for breakfast unfortunately. Staff were very lovely, helpful and efficient. Room was clean and we liked the design.

I felt that overall the breakfast had lot of options but rather for Indonesian guests. At the time we arrived, there was very little fruit to choose from, no yoghurt and cereals options very limited although that may be due to limited availability in Indonesia. Mirror above the sink could have brigher light. Not suited for make-up users 🙂

I like the 24 hours concept where I can check out based on the time I check in. I love the welcome drinks and they gave me a cheeky question to help me match my mood to the drinks. The staffs are very friendly. I love that the mini fridge in the room serve bintang and kawa-kawa. The room is spacious with awesome industrial interior design. The furniture is minimalist, but has good facilities like hairdryer. I love the huge window. I love the location of the hotel which is very strategic to everywhere (20 mins to train station by walking, close to shopping malls)

The room is not soundproof. I can hear noises from outside my room. I stayed on the 6th floor, and I can hear some machine noises from next building maybe? (not sure where the noise came from). Two of my pillows were a bit too thin.

This time my stay in Janevalla was really good. The rooms are fabulously clean, the beds are comfy and the breakfast is extraordinary. I also like their 24 hour check in/out system. (I would like it better if they had a 12 hour option for a fair price as well.)

One thing that I do not like is that some restaurant staff (not all) always seem to think that I’m running off without paying my bills. Is this because I a female solo traveler? Is it because I’m a foreigner? In any case I never did not pay my bill and I would tip them in the future if they stopped being this panicky.

i think it is more like a 3 star than a 4 star hotel, thankfully I had a discounted price so it was worth it. I wouldnt pay the normal price for this hotel. some minor things that can be better: 1. bathroom amenities was minimal, no lotion, soap was making my skin really dry 2. outside of hotel looked run down with cracks and dirty walls 3. if you like going to the gym, this is not the hotel for your, small and old equipments

The rooftop breakfast area and swimming pool were wonderful! We were away from the noise but still close enough to walk into the main area in the evening. Staff were polite, helpful and professional at all times

The shower floor didn’t drain so remained wet throughout our stay

The 24-hour stay was an interesting experience and made the booking very much worth it since it allows you to maximize your stay experience. Bathroom was clean, toiletries were of good quality, and the breakfast spread is excellent.

Despite being in the same category, some rooms have a better layout and/or view compared to some others. Not a dealbreaker but would be nice if there is another class of rooms with "bad" that can be priced cheaper.

The staff, the ambience, very nice. The staff are very helpfull, The property is also close to various places to culinary and shopping

Needs improvement in breakfast. Especially the temperature of the food served.
