The grounds, the pool with swim up bar, and loads of loungers, umbrellas etc. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. A great place to stay while you're doing your shopping etc in Legian. The entrance is right on the main strip, between the ice bar, and another fun little place called Foodies story, but once you walk past the reception building, you are in a quiet tropical paradise. They can take care of everything, laundry, massage, safe deposit boxes, whatever you need, it's here, and very reasonably priced.

Nothing to dislike, if we stayed again, which we will, we would get a ground floor unit, as the stairs are quite steep.

The beds were comfortable and clean, location close to everything, shopping, restaurants, and the beach (1km walk) but we loved being able to walk everywhere. The breakfast was delicious, try the dragon fruit smoothie! The gardens and grounds were spacious and well maintained, great space to walk and play with the children and excellent sized pool.

Staff walking into our room at night, need to knock first if they had the worng room. Also walked in on me whenI was on the toilet during check out. Again, need to learn to knock!

We had a room in the new building in a garden view room for 11 days, then upgraded to a suite which was amazing! The staff where always so friendly and helpful, and the rooms very clean. Location was perfect to walk everywhere. The property grounds were beautifully maintained and traditional.

Overall we were very happy with everything to be honest, but if I had to say something it would be that the breakfast menu got a bit same same after awhile. Saying that, there are plenty of restaurants and warungs outside the hotel to choose from :)

The property is hidden away from the main street. So we heard nothing from the main street which was noisey when you were on it. You don’t expect it from the front, but it is absolutely beautiful once you are inside the property. The layout is nicely done so you don’t feel like you are on top of everyone and crammed in. We got an upgraded room to a suite which was absolutely beautiful. If I go here again I would spend the money to get this room. The rain shower and huge bath was amazing in the bathroom. Lots of storage space in the room. There are lots of plugs in the room and usb ports in the wall on each side of the beds. The pool wasn’t as big as I thought based on the pictures, but it was a lovely setting. Huge gardens although we didn’t get much into the gardens itself. Room was huge and spacious. The views over the pool from the restaurant and bar is beautiful and peaceful. The spa is just by the pool and you can hear the fountains from inside the spa. The breakfast options were good. The staff were amazing as usual and went out of their way to accommodate.

The bed was way too hard. The menu is not very big on options and would have liked to see a lot more options on the drinks side especially cocktails since there is a swim up bar. The towels were horrendous. Had I known, I would have taken my own. The aircon dripped in our room which wasn’t too much of an issue except it was directly in the passageway so we had to put a towel down. I asked for a hairdryer for the last day and honestly could have used a hand held fan which would have been more effective. The shower screen needed to extend out as when you used the rain shower the floor got overly soaked.

Everything. The staff is the hidden gem of this place. The pool, bar, and surrounds make life effortless

I stayed in one of the new renovated rooms. It was clean with nice decor and a lovely terrace out the front. It was also quiet but close to the main street. At the back there is a wide open garden area and I had a lovely $15 massage by the pool

The grounds are a little old and the front reception could do with an update. But when booking you need to specify that you want one of the newer rooms because I saw the older ones and the bathrooms are old and basic

Was not sure about this one due to Google map picture, shown as an old building at the front. But decided to go a head and was wowed once entering the hotel area. It was really not as I'd expected. It has huge garden area with plenty beautiful trees. Yes the building looks old with Balinese Architecture touch, but the room is spacious and modern yet very clean. Bed is super comfortable. Shower with hot water. Breakfast was really delicious, my kids love all the menus Swimming pool is considerably large and it is super clean. Around the pool is green view of the garden, it is very well maintained Location: prime - right at busy street of Legian with many restaurant, bars and hotels. We stayed during weekend and was lot of fun just to walk around the area. I will definitely recommend and return to this hotel You get what you paid for

The front facade of hotel & lobby can use some renovation. It looks dark and old. Looks sad actually. With the potential behind it, am sure this hotel can do much more

If you like a resort style hotel but without large crowds, Matahari Bungalow is the place for a chilled holiday. Walking distance to Beach Walk shopping centre, the beach and even a convenience store directly opposite hotel. Staff were great and received even better service than I have had at other 5 star resorts. I will return to this property.

Some rooms are not refurbished that will deter some however freshly renovated rooms are available for a little extra. Rooms do not have opening windows so can get stuffy if you don’t like using the air con.

Bed was comfy with a lovely pool and swim up bar.. Great location close to everything. Grounds were k ept well. Staff were friendly. Room was cleaned each day.

A lot of the rooms looking a little tired. We had paid for one of the more expensive rooms but it was really tired looking and had a gap in the door where mosquitoes could get in. Staff were great and moved us to a renovated room which was better but definitely not worth the full asking price on their website. We had booked through booking.com and got a good rate.

Beautiful hotel in Kuta, quiet behind the busy areas. Giant lovely pool, and beautiful garden. this was a treasure hidden away! the room size was fine for a few days and service was very friendly from all the staff. i would stay here again if staying in Kuta. food was good and always available- with 24 reception who help when needed. the pictures on booking.com are correct
