From the smiling welcome every morning, to the careful attention to our vegan dietary requirements the WakaGangga staff did everything to make our Christmas break (20-27 December) feel tailored and memorable. Beautifully maintained rooms, facilities and surroundings cleaned regularly throughout the day. Incredible and reasonably-priced options with lots of variety at their in-house restaurant meant we did not get bored once. Highly recommend the vegetarian Nasi Goreng for breakfast! The free shuttle to nearby landmarks was a real bonus since the location is quite a distance from anything else. There are a few bars and restaurants down the beach worth checking out too! The Christmas Dinner with live gamelan music was such a highlight for us and so thoughtful considering Christmas isn't really celebrated on the island. Absolute bliss from start to finish, even with the biblical rain on a few occasions. Thank you to the whole team, we genuinely didn't want to leave!

Possibly not in the remit of the hotel but the surrounding beach is in a bit of a sorry state in terms of litter / cleanliness. You definitely wouldn't want to come here for a beach holiday. Still, hearing the waves crashing adds to serene atmosphere along with the sounds of the other local wildlife. Wouldn't give up the location for anything!

It's a beautiful place in a remote area so it is perfect for those seeking peace and quiet. The staff was exceptionally helpful and kind and I loved that the room was cleaned everyday. All of my requests have been addressed in no time and with kindness. The transfer to Canggu is also convenient and I used it multiple times. The rooms are very spacious and villas are extremely private so you will not even know there are other guests. The spa offers variety of treatments. I would highly recommend staying in WakaGangga to everyone.

The equipmemt in the gym could be improved and I would appreciate if the room was more spacious - the gym was one of the criteria that played a big role when I decided which accommodation in Bali to book but I ended up using the gym just once because there was barely any functional equipment there. The location of the resort can be both an advantage and disadvantage. I was travelling around the island a lot and every company charged me extra because the resort is located too far for most tour operators. For short or one way trips i recommed using Gojek app. However those are still minor deficiencies which did not impact my great experience in WakaGangga.

I loved everything about this beautiful accommodation! It’s away from the busy areas: nice and quiet, so serene. And if you want to go for some shopping they provide a shuttle service to Changgu everyday. The restaurant serves nice food, both Indonesian and western kitchen. The staff goes out of their way to make your stay as convenient and luxurious as possible! I also loved the architecture of the resort, with respect to the old Balinese style, so tasteful. My villa had a private pool and ocean view, and it was completely private; couldn’t see any neighbors nor people walking by. I will definitely come back again!

Everything was incredible. The staff were sensational, I’ve never experienced such friendly and professional hospitality. The villa was stunning, the resort was so beautiful and the views from the restaurant were a welcomed surprise. If you want a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of life then go here. The holiday of a lifetime, I’d go back in a heartbeat.

There is nothing negative to say

Our villa was beautiful, so close to the beach we could hear the ocean from our bed. Staff exceptionally friendly, but most do not speak english. Reception staff have to learn english, as communication was difficult & missunderstandings occur.

Near by temple's blasting songs / talking over & over well up to 10.30pm every night. The restaurant serves sub par food. Due to there location, if you don't have transport, you are forced to either eat at the restaurant or at Cliffhanger Restaurant who only serve western style food. (respectable quality) The beach is poluted, both water & the locals (spot the tourist so far north) don't respect there beautiful beach & leave there trash everywhere.

It was quiet listening to all the native birds by the pool having a private pool was lovely, the last couple of days we swam in the large pool that was amazing got to do a few laps, the grounds were beautiful so we’re the staff the meals were amazing I ate from the vegan menu it was all delicious. Had 2 spa days which were very relaxing and serene. I loved how the beach view was so close while eating In restaurant and walking to the temple was so close while viewing the sunset. I loved Waka in every way we didn’t want to leave. Thank you for a beautiful stay.

Nothing about the property, only one of the activities we did - the horse riding was not a good experience and overpriced for what we got. The horse I had Kiki kept biting the pony in front so I was constantly pulling her up with reigns during the whole trip to the beach. Once there she didn’t want to walk along the beach kept stopping and as we left she reared back and she almost hit me in the head with hers as we went up a slight incline. I was too scared to ride her after that. And got a lift back on the motorcycle. My husband also wanted to ride along the beach by himself and they wouldn’t let him and he was experienced at riding.

The bungalow was truly amazing - it was spacious and had plenty of room to move around. The beds were comfortable, and the little private garden was a fantastic addition. The outdoor shower was also a great touch. I would love to go back just to spend more time sleeping in that incredible large bed. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, always willing to assist with any needs. They even offer bike rentals, which is a convenient way to explore the area. Aaaand, the spa was fantastic: 100 out of 10!

Given that the location is a bit far from shops, it's recommended that you book a room with breakfast included to ensure convenience. Plus, you'll also receive afternoon tea and other stuff, so it's worth considering an all-inclusive package to enjoy all the perks.

This place is perfect. If you are looking for a relaxing, authentic, and comfortable stay, stay here! Classic friendly Balinese hospitality. Everyone was helpful, kind, and wonderful. Yes, outside there are bugs, Mozzies, little spiders, and lizards. Bali is a tropical island, and the balinese live in harmony with these little creatures. It is not a good reason for poor reviews, so please dont let those reviews colour your opinion. If you keep your door closed, then the bugs don't come inside 🥰 The restaurant has 6 or 7 different menus that span over the day, brekkie, brunch, lunch, tapas, vego, dinner, kids. I ate something amazing and delicious and different every meal at the resort. Eating in the restaurant was something else. I could have sat there forever, staring at the ocean. The villas are very well temperature controlled. They are only slightly dated as they use traditional wood doors and furniture. When living in a humid environment, it is very normal for wood to swell with the humidity, so a firm tug on a draw may be required, but this does not deflect from the paradise you will find yourself in. Wifi can come and go a little bit. However, if you have decided to work at this resort instead of turning off and relaxing, there is a business centre with very strong wifi. The spa is wonderful. I suggest going down, meeting the ladies, and discussing the best service for you. They are friendly and want to give you the best service. The pricing is very, very good. The turnaround time and customer service were next level. Quick responses to my messages. My check-in and check-out experience were superior. And I left and arrived at very inconvenient times. I was still provided with warm hospitality. Waka is 45 mins in good traffic from the airport. But it's worth it. You are out of the hustle and bustle, and you fall asleep to the sound of waves. It is not terribly isolated, canggu is 15 mins away.

Small, beautiful and very quite hotel with an amazingly friendly staff. The area around the hotel was also more accessible than expected, with great opportunities for some short hikes and a decent amount of restaurants in the area. We wish we could have stayed longer.

The only two small things that could have been better were the breakfast option (3 a la carte menues got boring quite fast) and the shuttle bus timings (we wish that they would have had an option to visit canggu at more flexible times than just 10 to 2. We were very happy with our stay none the less!

Beautiful property in quite a remote location. Great if you want to relax and be away from the crowds. Spa was lovely. Lovely big villa. Friendly staff.

Just little things. Wifi wasn’t great. TV didn’t have English channels.
