I loved our room! So spacious and beautifully decorated and full of natural light. Gorgeous bathroom too. Hotel is very clean and communal areas are also well kept and beautiful. Staff were excellent. Friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. Loved the meal at the Canopy. The large chess and beautiful gardens on the grounds. An osos not far from Cork City.

I was a little disappointed with the pool and sauna/steam room areas. The lockers were all out of order in the changing rooms at the time. The pool area was VERY hot even by swimming pool standards. I thought the sauna/steam room area would have been a little more glamorous. Had lovely times in the pool and jacuzzi, just a few notes.

A superb venue. I can only echo previous positive reviews. The professional hand of the management is evident everywhere. From the staff who are many and lovely, engaging you by a greeting, everyone you met with. It was very noticeable and welcome and is widely practiced and I noticed it because of its absence in many other hotels. We stayed in room 125 incidentally. Beautiful, great space all you need and more. Bars, breakfast and dinner were superb, as indeed all public areas and outside space. Such a charming venue, as you only get in Ireland. It's obviously not cheap but you can see where your money is going. A lovely few days spent over new year 2023. Treat yourself.

Everything was great, the room was huge with separate dressing room, terrace and huge bathroom. The hotel felt quiet even though it was busy which is a testament to its layout and having plenty of dining & lounge areas. We ate in the Hunted Hog which was typical but good bar food and in the Canopy restaurant which was delicious. For lunch we ate in the hotel bar and again the food was great. We didn’t use the spa but used the leisure facilities, they are a bit smaller so you wouldn’t spend much time there. Lovely grounds for walks or a bike ride.

We did feel that in comparison to every other staff member the man in the Hunted Hog, who could be the manager was unfriendly to us both times we went in, we actually left without staying the second time after he was rude to us. It’s a shame that the stellar customer service & friendliness of the staff in the resort is not reflected there, although all the other staff members there were lovely. It doesn’t hurt to be nice, even if busy and if they prefer the locals there then maybe they should separate themselves from the resort or else treat everyone equally as paying customers.

Clean , quiet, luxurious

The receptionist accidentally charged me €346 instead of €349 at check in, I hadn’t noticed. When we were leaving I checked to make sure there were no extra charges and they said I owed €3 ! When I asked what was the charge for, after a few minutes of checking they said that they accidentally charged me €3 below what I should have paid! Just thought it was the receptionist error and it was only €3 ! And it took some time for them to figure out what it was for. Was a little disappointed that this €3 wasn’t waived

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The facilities were just perfect for us. We enjoyed the Knights Bar for some mind blowing cocktails and also afternoon lunch at the clubhouse with an astonishing view of the golf course and sunset. The dinner at the canopy restaurant was 5 star. The room we stayed in was spacious and comfortable.

We wished we had stayed longer. The only thing we disliked was that the smart tv couldn’t mirror from our smart phones to watch Netflix or YouTube. Regardless we enjoyed the stay and did not both us that much.

We have just returned from a week's stay at the Castlemartyr Hotel and Resort. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable week. The estate is very attractive with its own golf course and nice woodland walks close by. Our room in the hotel was very pleasant and very comfortable, as comfortable as we have had anywhere in the world. The attention to detail at the hotel is quite impressive. The decor is very attractive. The building is a nice mixture between old and new, so it provides very pleasant rooms, such as the Library, and at the same time the swimming, the other sports facilities and spa are very good too. There are small touches both in the hotel building and outside which makes for an interesting environment. We have seldom seen hotels with so many fresh flowers and indoor plants. The garden that immediately surrounds the hotel building is attractive with some very quirky sculpture. The food served in the hotel is of a particularly good standard and they appear to use a lot of fresh ingredients. BUT the thing that sets this hotel apart is the staff. Every single member of staff we met was so helpful and so pleasant, from the staff at the main door, the staff at the bar, the staff at the pool and spa, to the staff in the restaurant, to the cleaning staff. We would love to name them all but that would take too long. Well done, Team Castlemartyr, and thank you.

The grounds of the hotel were excellent. Lovely walks beautiful buildings and art works. The room was a good size with lovely en-suite. The bed was very comfy and the hotel restaurant excellent. You need to book a table if dining in the restaurant or the Hunted Hog as both book out quickly. The Gold Club which is within walking distance also serves good food in their restaurant.

The Bar was very quiet for a bank holiday weekend. We expected some music in the bar on a Saturday night but there was none.

We booked Castlemartyr Resort for a midweek short break. We stayed in the Manor State Room and could not have been more impressed, the entrench corridor, walk-in wardrobe, bedroom. The amazing bathroom with a marble topped bath and sauna, the sauna was unexpected and not even listed in the room facilities. First night we eat in the canopy restaurant which was great but my wife had booked the Terre restaurant the following night for a birthday treat. Hard to put into words how fabulous this restaurant is. The taster menu with wine pairing was not only the best food we have ever had but a full immersive experience as dishes were finished at table side with the different chefs describing the ingredients. The wine selection for each of the courses was also an excellent experience with the waiter describing the vineyards and wine making process. Massive thanks to Chef Vincent Crepel and the whole team at Terre for an unforgettable experience. We had a couples massage in a private suite which was a first for us and fully fabulous relaxing time, thanks to the Spa team.

breakfast was excellent, good choice of healthy options, very well stafffed room excellent, clean, very spacious and included so many extras you often have to ask for in other hotels e.g. iron/ironing board, hair dryer Pool facilities good, cleaned regularly, Generally the staff in hotel were really excellent, friendly, always available and helpful, a huge asset to the hotel and a credit to their managers and training. Grounds are beautiful and very well maintained.

food and drinks were overpriced and the food a little fussy. However staff were helpful if minor changes to the dish were asked for, e.g. oysters to be served with just a slice of lemon. A bottle of Argentinian Melbec €45 we do not pay that in Dublin restaurants. The cost of two drinks in the bar at €20? no wonder we were the only couple there at 11pm on a Tuesday night. Also perhaps some simple evening entertainent, eg musican for a couple of hours would add to the atmosphere in the bar.

My husband and I have done many hotels in Ireland and all were lovely experiences but we both agree that Castlemartyr has been our best to date . The rooms especially was stunning and large very clean, so comfortable. I would highly recommend castlemartyer to anyone, couples & family friendly for a great 5 star treatment. Their staff are also are so proffesinal friendly and cordial and do a excellent job in maintaining the hotel to the level that it has become . We will definitely be back for a longer stay .

I didn't get to stay another night ..
