Barnabrow House is set in an idyllic rural location, yet only a short drive away from Ballymaloe/Midleton/Ballycotton/Garryvoe, etc. We stayed in the lovely renovated stables, and after a wet and windy night, sat outside in glorious early February sunshine on the morning of our departure. We didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on that aspect. The rooms were quaint and comfortable, with tea and a nespresso-type coffee machine and a large shower. There were goats and donkeys nearby, which kids would love. We got a good deal for our one-night stay, which is always a bonus!

The bed was very high, which would not be suitable for people with limited mobility. I stayed on a wet and windy night, and wind was coming under the door, but the duvet was lovely and warm so there was no problem. One of the bathroom floor tiles was loose. Otherwise no issues.

The property is laid out in extensive grounds with many areas for sitting and enjoying the exterior. As a wedding venue it presumably works well. In terms of location for someone visiting the Cork area this was good especially if like being out in the country. The room, whilst very eclectic lacked areas to hang your towel and easy to use mirrors but otherwise was very nice. The bed was very comfortable and a good nights sleep was enjoyed.

When it came time to pay we realised that we had been overcharged. The lady who took payment could not resolve it as she was only able to go by the list provided to her by the manager, who was not there. It took a few messages to resolve this situation after we had left the hotel so for anyone staying there the message is check the bill carefully.

The old world charm of the rooms. Attention to detail. Its such a pretty place. I could have spent my time just examining the period pieces.

Rhe buildings are a bit all over the place, with lots of steps between reception and the main house. Going back we would drop our luggage in front of the main house instead of going to the carpark. The ahowe was a bit slippy. The news were comfy, but so high! Im not tall and could have done with a step!

The beds were very comfy. The shower was great. Excellent value for money. We stayed only one night while attending a wedding nearby so we didn't get to spend a lot of time at the property overall - but the time we did spend there, was very pleasant in a lovely setting.

Personally I like there to be hand soap in the bathroom, but I've noticed a lot of properties not providing this anymore. Maybe since COVID? There are shower toiletries as you would expect. There was some sort of mosquito net (?) around the bed which was a bit annoying to sleep with and perhaps unnecessary at the time of year that we stayed (April). Granted, coming in late after a wedding, I wasn't going to spending too much time trying to figure it out.

Location was lovely, beautiful grounds, pleasant, friendly staff. Lovely cosy bedroom. Facilities really clean.

Each time you walked on the bathroom floor at the entrance to the bedroom, water oozed up from under the tiles....even before we used the shower. Bed is very very high. I am tall so had no issue, but for anyone who is of small stature it could be. People should be made aware of this. Now the bed was very comfortable.

The atmosphere of this country home was beautiful. The grounds were gorgeous and a lot of fun to explore. It felt like a great escape to the countryside! The staff was really accommodating with any issue we had and our room was extremely clean!

There was no air conditioning and the windows wouldn’t stand up on their own, so the room felt very stuffy but thankfully we were able to prop the window up to get some air in! There were a few issues with which room we were supposed to be in and the shower but the staff was always ready to help happily.

Breakfast beautifully presented, delicious, plenty of it. First course was totally unexpected and a very pleasant surprise. What a treat!

We loved it but if I must pick something - door knobs (springs in them), in room need attention - they were difficult to open on a couple of occasions. May not be noticed by staff if not opening and closing frequently from both sides.

Our stay was only for a night but it was beautiful. Our room was very bright and very relaxing. It was very well equipped and it was spotless. the breakfast was delicious and served by very nice staff. Overall i could'nt fault it and i would love to go back another time. Its also a tea rooms on Saturday and Sunday and i have no doubt it is excellent.

Nothing.
