The hotel is beautiful full of period features, very clean and warm the staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful, the grounds are stunning.

We stayed in an attic room no 22, the bed was under the eaves and we kept hitting our heads, the room was very bare with no pictures and the only mirror had no socket beside it so you could not dry your hair in the mirror. However it was very clean the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a great big bath. The other issue for me due to mobility, were the stairs leading to the room, they are very steep and hard to navigate.

Noisy in room above. Had to complain after nearly 2 hours of not getting any sleep took me this long as having people above benefit to stop but once hitting midnight... found night man on reception and asked him to have a word with guests above room 7. It took another 20 minutes for them to be quiet. Spoilt my last night.. have stayed here before a few times and slept OK. Shame really this tome was so different. Also noticed carpets not being hoovered properly.. maybe cleaners need a more powerful hoover. But overall great price n food n staff lovely BnB stay..

The wonderful day manager upgraded us - fortunately they have availability. The room we were given was excellent - the size of the room and the location in the main building. The "superior" room met our expectations in its decor, cleanliness and size. We would certainly look to stay again in this room.

The initial room we booked - a garden room, was smaller than described, the view was poor i.e. the garden and outdoor seating looked poor (I accept it was winter) and had a strange smell to it. It was also not part of the main building which was not explained in the description as well.

We had an issue with the first room. The receptionist was so efficient and helpful. By the time my partner had walked up the drive, it was taken care of. All staff were friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts. Not just the quality but also the level of service. The grounds are so peaceful. It really was our little spot of heaven.

In good need of dusting above wardrobe, small fan heaters which helped but took up all of the plug sockets. I would suggest extension leads. The remote in our room was in Spanish, so we couldn't really use it.

The staff - especially the bar man / restaurant waiter and the breakfast waitress were EXCEPTIONAL - thank you x. The food and drink staff went above and beyond and made our stay really personal and special. The two receptionists were excellent also. The food itself at breakfast and dinner was excellent and the cocktails and selection of drinks excellent. The grounds are lovely with a nice path to walk around the little lake, we saw deer in the wooded area and watch birds and ducks on the lake. The location is just 10 minutes in a taxi from slough station and the tube straight into central London. Parking on site is included.

The staff on duty were excellent, but it's clear they could do with extra support in busy periods. Managers needed a little more training in customer service - often seeming to avoid customers or be on their phones! The garden rooms are modern and cosy, but the the manor house rooms have a lot of wear and tear and need a little TLC. BUT they are wonderful historic rooms with great original features. The overall cleanliness could do with improving as carpets often covered in crumbs etc and table tops sticky even when clean. Housekeeping also hit and miss!

Extremely friendly and attentive staff (Joanna and co) who served us breakfast. The guy who checked us in was friendly and proactive. Short and comfy stay.

Dated room but it was expected for a historical building. We had a great first night sleep, but sadly not the second night when other people stayed next to us. Constant slamming on door from 1am onwards till at least 3am. Not the hotel fault, but some door stopper could installed to reduce the door slamming?

A grand historical building with perfect antique decor and furniture. In a rural location and had lovely grounds with a lake. Comfortable room with a small but impressive modern bathroom. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The buffet breakfast was generous and one of the tastiest we’ve had.

The remote for our TV was missing and late evening, no suitable replacement could be found. Not a big issue as it was late and we were only staying 1 night. When leaving the hotel at the gates it proved quite hazardous turning onto a narrowish sometimes busy country road due to vehicle speed and poor visibility.

Very nice place to stay, nice and peaceful and a lovely main building, nice grounds and a lake to have a wander about. I have stayed in the external "chalet" type rooms and they are nice, last time I stayed in the main hotel building and the room was also very nice. Food is good, never had breakfast so can't comment on that.

Rather oddly the room I had in the main hotel building didn't have a shower! It had a bath with one of those old fashioned tap to shower head things, but no where to actually hang it that I could see, so ended up having a bath instead, which wasn't the end of the world but odd that these days a normal shower isn't standard in a hotel like this.

The location , was disappointed with the room, suppose to be executive, tiny room , difficult staircase, the breakfast was ok , and the grounds are excellent, I stayed at this hotel 12/13 years ago before the new owners took over, and must say the facilities were 100% better then.

I think the rooms are overrated for the cost I just paid, the room 21 I’m sure is a standard room in the roof space , very steep and narrow top flight, so not happy what was provided, and because I paid for a upgraded room are disappointed . I will make a formal complaint early next week

Beautiful location, we checked in and took a walk around the lake. Car parking is plentiful even when very busy. We were in town for a funeral, and my family had checked into another hotel, Bayliss House, which turned out to be awful. Fortunately, Stoke Place had another couple of rooms available and was very accommodating about a last-minute booking. Thank you, Volfer. They also ensured that we could have breakfast in a room that my mother could access easily as she has mobility issues. The property is beautiful, and the staff are delightful.

The staff helped save the day from the awful experience my family had at the Bayliss House hotel.
