For the type of accommodation it is, this place was perfect for a few nights' stay! Clean, warm, nothing special or luxurious but it was still very good and with a great price for a single room+ensuite bathroom. The location just around the corner from the train station was amazing as I had many day trips planned and also arrived/left with heavy luggage. Would definitely stay again!

There were almost no toiletries, luckily I did bring my own. There were wifi issues - I ended up not having it 2 nights in a row. One of the receptionists didn't speak English, Spanish, or French, I tried it all :D He was really nice, but it was a bit frustrating, especially when I had issues to solve and limited time.

The entry in Booking.com said it was near Brignole Station, and it certainly was. Less than a few minutes walk. The albergo is on the 5th floor, but the lift is efficient and readily available. The stairs are also wide, and clean! Antonio and the staff are friendly and eager to assist. As well as being close to the railway station (on the direct route to the Cinque Terre towns), the albergo is located on a major shopping street, and is well served by buses and the Metro. Yet this busyness does not distract from getting a good night's sleep - very quiet. There is a fridge, and a kettle, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom large.

No daily room cleaning.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel, which is located right in the heart of the city. The building itself is a charming, historic structure, adding a lot of character to the overall experience. It's just a 3-minute walk from the train station, making it incredibly convenient for travelers. The accommodation was comfortable, with a very cozy bed that ensured a good night's sleep. While the furniture was a bit dated, it still fit the overall charm of the place, and everything was in good working condition. One of the highlights is definitely the neighborhood. It’s a beautiful part of the city, full of lovely streets to explore, and plenty of great cafes and shops nearby. All in all, it's a great choice if you're looking for a central location, a unique setting, and a comfortable stay for night or two.

The furniture in the room was a bit older, giving the space a somewhat dated feel. The bathroom, while clean, also looked quite old and could benefit from some updates to match the charm of the building.

The albergo is very close to Brignole station and has a central location. Our room was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated, we even had a balcony. The receptionist does not speak much English, but we managed to understand each other in mixed italiano and English. He was very helpful and the reception is open 24/7.

The room was a bit cold, we couldn't get the air conditioner to provide efficient heating, but the blankets were warm, so for a one night stay it was not really a problem.

Albergo Astro is a hotel with a great location, in the main street of Genova, 10min walking from the main square. We stayed with our dog and the staff was so kind, they gave her dog cookies, cuddles and we felt very welcomed. Even though it's on the main street, there was no noise from the cars or fireworks (we were staying there for New Year's Eve). The bed was comfortable, and the room had everything we needed. Highly recommend and we'll for sure come back!

My room was very large, clean and comfortable. It also had a balcony. The hotel staff are wonderful. Very warm and friendly. The hotel itself is located on the 5th floor of a spectacular historic building…do take time to admire the beautiful entrance and the magnificent staircase (cool photo opportunity looking from ground floor up and vice versa) The location of the hotel is also great as you are close to the historic centre on foot but also have metro/ bus nearby. All in all I loved my stay and I highly recommend Hotel Astro

Nothing it was all great

I had a quick city break in Genova. I wanted to thank you to Claudino and Anthonio for such a great and kind welcome. I felt well looked after and safe. I was in the room with plenty of cats photos knowing that I have two real cats on my own so it was a bonus :) The room has everything you need for a city break. Mine had a terrace which was lovely. Thank you again and I hope I can be back.

The staff was friendly and welcoming. The location was good, with breakfast, food and drinks, shopping options nearby. Overall good long weekend stay. I would stay again when in town.

The Internet could have been more stable. It would drop at times, and lose connectivity, to the point where I had to use cellular data and hotspot.

Great location, nice staff and affordable prices! the bed was SO comfortable! The building where the hotel is located was pretty cool too, with a majestic staircase and awesome architecture. Supermarket and restaurants nearby, as well as train and bus station. A great place for a nights rest before travelling elsewhere in Italy.

Noise from the metallic blinds and the placement of the toilet 😂 It’s not so much as a “I didn’t like it”, it’s more of an observation. Had to sit sideways, no room in front of the toilet 😂

Great location. In the centre of Genoa with a Mcdonald’s located right around the corner which is convenient. Comfortable bed with air conditioning.

It’s a very old school hotel located at the top of a building which contains other businesses - but we actually enjoyed the character and dated decor! Not a negative for us but an observation. Our only criticism would be that the front door is hollow so we could hear other guests.
