Villa Rossi is a real gem! We had a wonderful time especially with the great hospitality of Paola and her mum! The house is really big, clean and dotted with lovely antiques. It's located in a private park with beautiful views. It took us less than 10min to Lucca (a car is needed though) which we loved! This property was very welcoming for us as a young family! Thank you so much, we hope to be back in the future !

The only thing not ideal for us was that there wasn't a grass area for our baby to crawl on

You arrive at massive old gates and proceed up a long plant lined driveway. The setting of the house is lovely in amongst beautiful trees. Breakfast was plentiful with hot and cold selections. Nona’s daily homemade cakes were a wonderful treat! The bed was very comfortable which is rare. This family run B & B makes you feel like you are a guest of friends.

We absolutely loved the property and the owners are really adorable. They catered to our every needs. Lots of tips, including for visiting Rome. The place is stunning and ideal to disconnect with busy life. The rooms are big and comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped. There is a private terrace with a lovely view on a small lake. And lots of space to safely park your car.

We loved everything! Nothing to complain about.

Breakfast was good, juice, fruits, bread, cheese and ham, coffee, tea, cereals, yoghurt and cakes:) Beautiful old country home and surrounding garden. We enjoyed the privacy and quiet location. Most helpful and friendly staff. The spirit of history was there and you could imagine what the ’noble life’ -even though we stayed at servants’ house-was several hundreds years ago here. Many interesting historical points like furniture, costumes, paintings and even an instrument was visible. Easy to access with car and only 10 min from Lucca!

Wifi could be stronger.

The impressive gates give you a taste of what to expect. Within a stunning 13th century building, our room, Prima Vera, was huge and exquisite, with dual aspect gothic windows, antique furniture and designer decor. The ensuite bathroom was equally spacious. Paola (lovely lady) runs a quirky guesthouse in the grounds of her family's grand mansion. Breakfast is buffet style, enjoyed in the shared kitchen or outside on the terrace. The conservatory pool is deep and a lovely treat on a hot day and the patio is a wonderful place to sit with a book in the sun. Conversations with other guests, happily bounced between 4 languages. The recommended Osteria delivered tasty and affordable food. Would return to this guesthouse, tomorrow!

You need to be alert, driving down the narrow lanes to access the property.

The location is ideal if you have a car. It's just outside Lucca (10min) in a very peaceful and beautiful green setting right next to a gorgeous old Tuscan villa, which the offered us a free tour through! Our room was really big, with beautiful views. Breakfast with home made fresh cakes, fresh fruits and plenty more, so very nice. Restaurant recommendation of a nice typical and fare priced dinner was very useful.

Bed is too soft. We left with back aches (also partly due to the beds we slept in before our stay at this hotel). The pool appears in the pictures, but was not mentioned to us at our arrival and did not seem in use (looked very dusty).

We are delighted with this villa. When we arrived and saw the large columns and the huge wrought iron gate that slowly opened and we entered the park, I felt like I was in some other world. A forgotten world, a world of fairy tales. The builders have tried to capture every bit of the past. Every single room is like a museum. So beautiful with preserved old furniture, dishes, fireplaces, books, clothing, a symbol of wealth in the time of the Renaissance. You really are transported to another world. The villa itself from the outside and the huge park are stunning. When you are here you can imagine and feel the atmosphere of the then kings, queens and all such wealthy people.the cherry on the cake was Paola who welcomed us so warmly, prepared a delicious breakfast and one evening when we were hungry and the little one saw a delicious cake in the oven, Paola allowed us to eat. Thank you Paola for this amazing unforgettable vacation

Don't expect a luxurious hotel, but a charming B&B in a mansion's annex. Like all old Italian buildings, the place inherited from her well-known grandfather needs renovation, but Paola looks after it - and her guests - with a lot of heart. She masters the art of being both discreet and well available, and we felt warmly welcomed. Our room and bathroom were very big, the beds good, and the English-Continental-Italian-mix breakfast varied, with home-made cake and strawberries. We loved the calmness of the place after the visits of Lucca, Pisa, the beach and natural parks, which are all well-accessible by car. Make sure to follow her local restaurant tips, it's worth it.

It's good to know that there are unattached (but apparently nice) big dogs in the beautiful park surrounding the villa, but this did not disturb us since it was quite cool when we were there.

The staff were really very friendly and offered additional information and tips about things to do in the area, were more than happy to accommodate us arriving and leaving early and the property itself is original and pleasant. I would highly recommend it if looking for peace and quiet.

The hostess let us know about dogs running free on the property, and although we are used to dogs, we were not so happy about how they circled us and barked at us until the owner came to take them away when coming back from an evening walk.
