Ideal location just outside the city wall, a couple of minutes walk from the heart of all you'd want to see. The house is full of history and character in many ways. Our room was very clean and kept to a high standard throughout our stay. Comfortable beds, which is always a good thing when you've been on your feet all day taking in the sites.

If you're staying more than a couple of days you might find breakfast a little repetitive as it's virtually the same every day. Having said that, it is a lovely breakfast of fresh breads, fruit, cold meats and eggs. We stayed in the room that I think was over the kitchen; at first I thought there was drilling happening early, 6ish, every day. We later thought it was part of breakfast being prepared - maybe oranges being juiced?

Nice location right outside of the historic old city- just a 5-minute walk over the railroad bridge and you are at the front gate of Lucca. Room is kept in the older original state, but upkeep is good. Very nice garden in the back that you look at during breakfast. Price was a little high for the amenities. Luckily, there was one available parking place for us, as you are on a busy street outside. A/C in room was very nice during the summer heat wave we experienced.

Higher price than some other properties. Location to the busy street, as you literally stepped into the bike lane when exiting the front door.

Breakfast was brilliant. It was a proper, not a packaged breakfast; eggs, prosciutto, yoghurt, croissant and more. The location couldn’t be bettered. You just had to cross a bridge over the railway and you were outside St Pietro gate. The room was really cool (August , 36 degrees). And it was a lovely spacious room overlooking the garden with a huge bathroom. And, we could easily park outside.

There was nothing we didn’t like. Maybe a fridge in the room, but that’s a minor quibble.

My wife Christine and I have always wanted to visit Lucca and this property was on our list after reading other peoples reviews and we were not disappointed. We were made welcome by Francesco and Giovanna into their family home, a beautiful old villa full of charm and lovingly cared for. The exceptional breakfast of so many choices was a lovely surprise, all served to us in the lovely garden room.

There is nothing to dislike about the property.

Absolutely beautiful B&B in a location close by Lucca train station. Francesco was very friendly and welcoming and allowed us to leave our luggage there after check out. Our room was upgraded and we had a beautiful balcony. The bed was super comfy with great sheets and pillows, and the shower was exceptional… the breakfast prepared by Giovanna was absolutely delicious, we couldn’t recommend this B&B more highly!

Location is excellent, just outside of a city gate. Breakfast was ample and made fresh. parking was adequate; they have three spaces. The view outside is of neat landscaping with fruit trees. It was quiet. We wanted to sleep with the window open but with no screens, we were concerned about mosquitoes.

Nothing. Lucca is an enjoyable destination.

Cozy small city hotel (B&B) beautifully decorated and in a great location to explore the city. 5 minutes walk to the old town. Nice rooms with well equipped bathrooms, large terrace overlooking the garden. Very good quality of the bed linen and towers, we slept really well and were able to relax and enjoy the typical Tuscany feeling the hotel offers. Great breakfast in the winter garden of the house, nicely presented and served. Extremely nice and helpful owners who take great care of all your needs. Lovely place I would highly recommend.

Everything was great!

Location perfect, just outside the walls and short walk to station. A beautiful property with a lovely owner Giovanna, who was very friendly and helpful. My room was perfect, overlooking the garden. The bed was very comfortable, with beautiful linen. Large bathroom with really good shower, toiletries and luxurious towels. Breakfast amazing!, eggs, fruit, ham, yogurt and bread/pastries etc. I stayed 5 nights but wish it had been longer, will definitely stay again when back in Lucca.

We stayed for 7 nights Giovanna, Francesco and all the staff were so friendly helpful , nothing was too much trouble . They took time to ask us each day what our plans were and gave us lots of tips to make the day and stay our best holiday yet . We will return . Thank you

This is my second visit to Al Porto do Lucca. I returned with another friend and found our home for 3 days. Francesco and Giovanna were just wonderful as before. They are a delightful couple who enjoy their guests also. All types of meats and cheeses for breakfast and terrific scrambled eggs and cheese. You will be pleased. I love this property… so comfortable and lovely antiques to view.
