We loved the view every morning when we had our breakfast on the terrace. Our host was amazing and very helpful. She arranged taxis for us to and from the airport but also back from the theatre one night. The house was amazing and the garden beautiful. The bedroom was just fine and there was always plenty of hot water for a lovely shower. Although the beach was a 10 minute walk from the house, it was still manageable and worth it when we got there! It was easy to get a bus into Palermo when we needed to.

Not sure really. It would have been nicer to be closer to the beach but that would take away from the view we had every morning. This has nothing to do with our host or the property, but we thought the town of Mondello could do with a tidy up. I don't think the local council do a very good job as the streets are quite dirty. However, the beach was very clean as was the water!

Our delightful host Silvana ran the first B&B in Mondello, 50 years ago. This is the only place in our one month Italian holiday where breakfast is included and what a treat it is to sit on her shaded deck, with a gorgeous view of the bay, sipping coffee and eating scrambled eggs, or pastry or whatever you desire. The suite was so comfortable and quiet, away from the bustle of the waterfront, with a fantastic supermarket and restaurants nearby.

People hoping for a bath should take note that these photos are out of date, as the bath has been removed. It was still lovely though. Note that as the property is perched high on the hill, it’s a fair climb to get there… perfect for working off that gelato :)

Absolutely magnificent Italian style villa with amazing garden. We loved our stay, host Silvana make you feel truly like part of the family during your stay in Mondello. Room is well equipped, has everything you need like fridge, hair dryer, fan, and its own terrace. Delicious breakfast with fresh croissants, fruits, coffee and local cheeses& prosciutto. Beach is 7 minute walk, and this part of the beach is the best, full of restaurants, bars, local shops and great grocery store. I will recommend this place to all family and friend because it’s really worth visiting:)

Breakfast was excellent as it was and flexible if you found something missing. Coffee, tea, juice, fruit, cheese, meat, bread, butter, homemade jams, pastries and access to eggs from the backyard hens if you'd like. Silvana, Francesca and everyone else helping around the house were wonderful! Like family. The location is perfect. Up on the hill overlooking Mondello town and beach. It's a 5-7 minute stroll to the main square and restaurants. There is a short, steep hill on your way back to the house which I was worried about because I have a calf injury but it was not an issue at all. I went up and down 3-4 times everyday easily. I loved wandering through the neighbourhoods and I felt safe as a solo traveller. Arriving back to the house felt like home. Comfortable, private, spotlessly clean. Cute dog and 2 cats. The gardens on the property are magical. Really worth wandering through. Overall, the entire experience was SO charming. Highly recommend!

Nothing, perfect!

This is a truly special place for a number of reasons: location - close to Mondello but at the same time very peaceful, amazing view over the bay both from the terrace and the room we stayed in, the general vibe of the house, covered in wisteria and vine, tastefully decorated, cozy room with all the necessary facilites. But what makes it truly exceptional are the owners, lovely, welcoming, helpful, catering to your every need and doing everything to make you feel at home. I'd come back to Glicine sul Golfo in a heartbeat. Thank you Silvana, Francesca & Eugenio!

Like in all Sicily parking space is very limited, so drivers - do not rent a larger car :)

A very traditional and comfortable place with a beautiful terrace for breakfast. Our room had a small balcony with wisteria growing around it which meant the beautiful scent filled the air around.

The breakfast was very limited and a bit disappointing - typical Sicilian fare of coffee/tea/juice and croissants and some fruit. Other options were available but had to be requested from the host who was then happy to provide. The quality of the food was generally not great.

I am being extremely picky here, I have rated this property a 10 and it is however if it was to go to an even higher level they could invest in a new mattress in the room we stayed in, it was a bit soft and springy. Also I have an extremely sensitive sense of smell and it smelled a little dusty, now it wasn’t dusty the room was spotless but it was potentially from the age of the furnishings as everything is so vintage and antique including the room rugs

What a great place! The hosts were wonderful, Silvana was a joy, the accommodations were clean and comfortable, the views were stunning, and the breakfast every morning was lovely. The house is a brief uphill walk from the beautiful Mondello Beach. I highly recommended staying here and hope to return some day!

The House has a lot of charm and the suite we stayed in was lovely. The Host was a fascinating lady who spoke reasonable English. Breakfast was a good range of foods and they are flexible with tastes. The area is beautiful and a good place away from the capital (25 mins) to explore the East Side of the island. A friendly comfortable place to stay.

We liked Everything, no problems or complaints.

We were very impressed be the host and staff. They where absolutely fantastic very very friendly people with a smile face every single day. We felt like one big family. Best b&b ever!!!

There were noting what we didn’t like honestly great place. We Recommend it to everyone.
