B&B La Fonte is in a lovely area, 30-40 minutes or so drive from Florence. It's down a steepish road but perfectly manageable, except perhaps in snow! The whole area is hilly so one has to be prepared for this. Has lovely views (there is a motorway in the distant front but it's not particularly noticeable. Unfortunately we were only able to enjoy the lovely pool one day, due to the weather. The room was spacious if a bit dark, Macchiavelli room is the best I think. To make this a top destination, we all felt a few things would have made a big difference. A kettle and tea/ coffee in the room, or very easy access to this in a downstairs lounge, as we experienced elsewhere. There is a breakfast room and in theory access to drinks, and perhaps coffee/tea during the day, but the room was closed most of the time. An honesty bar and ability to sit downstairs in that room would have been nice, particularly when it was raining. It wasn't obvious how to easily get hold of Simone, although he was very pleasant when around. Breakfast was fine if not outstanding - omelette, bacon, bread, croissant and sweet yoghurt and fruit juice. I don't eat pork and would have preferred some cheese or plain, unsweetened yoghurt. We went to two restaurants nearby. One, Il Borgo Macchiavelli is the top of the road, is walkable (if you don't mind puffing a bit uphill), and takes about 5-7 minutes. Absolutely outstanding, whether you are vegetarian or a meat eater. Another, Simone recommended, was a short drive away, very different but also excellent. Bottom line, you are spoilt for good food! This place is great for good weather, a bit less so in bad, and could be improved very easily (suggestions above) but we enjoyed ourselves overall!

This is a very lovely little B & B in a beautiful spot with fabulous views. Even though the room was on the small side , it was completely clean, comfortable with the terrace just outside where we had breakfast overlooking the rolling hills. Excellent shower in the. bathroom too. And, the pool is really lovely-cool, refreshing -we had it to ourselves each morning. Simone does all he can to help you-he very kindly dropped us at the bus stop to return to Florence as we didnt have a car on this very short trip.
There is nothing that i would wish to fault.

I loved how nice and remote it was. It was extremely rustic and nicely traditionally Italian. Although its self catering, the place is huge, and there is a lots of beautiful history and antiques. The Host and the family there was so nice as well. They made me feel so welcome and even give me a lift when I was stranded.
I pretty much loved everything. But it’s difficult to travel to if you are using public transport, but the majority of people drive cars.

Lovely sized room that had two chairs that could be made into beds, plenty of storage, wifi. It was in an idylic location down a dirt track that gave me the tranquility I was looking for tucked amongst vineyards and with an excellent view from outside the property. Breakfast was plentiful and the delciious Italian coffee was hot! The bed was huge and super comfy and I had the best nights sleep for a long time. I enjoyed a dip in the pool.
I would have liked a kettle and T bags/ coffee in the room, and whilst the bathroom was clean, it was looking a little tired and in need of re grouting/ modernising.

Very close to all cities like Florence, San Gimignano, Siena, Volterra, but in amazing peaceful vine area with great restaurant and vine tasting facility on top of the hill.
I like everything but just an advice if you have a low car, it is a farms road down hill to the facility ( like 300 m) and you need to drive slow and careful. I come here 15 years each year for few days, so am use to it.

Simone, the host, was very gracious and helpful. The facilities were adequate. The rooms were comfortable and the beds were more than good enough for a good night's rest. The breakfast was good. The coffee, the croissants, the cheese, the butter, the jams and the ham, sausages and eggs made for a very satisfactory morning fare. It is a wonderful place for a quiet Tuscan rural getaway. About 500 meters from hotel is an excellent restaurant, the Saracens, which serves the most delicious pasta, vegetables and beef steaks of different kinds. Make sure to make reservations, because it gets full, especially on weekends. Rural Tuscany is extremely charming, and this place is only a 40 minute drive away from Florence!
The place is a bit isolated and can be difficult to find. But, it's accessible by car or taxi. Besides, for a rural getaway, isn't solitude a refreshing change of pace?

Exceptional place, in the middle of a pittoresque, typical Tuscan scenery with vineyards, like from movie. The room was spacious and clean. In the morning, you wake up with the beautiful Tuscan landscape in front of your door. Very good breakfast. There is a possibility to buy a bottle of quality wine from the region at the reception. Around 30 min car drive distance from Florence. For lunch or dinner, the closest little town (San Casciano in Val di Pesa) is 6 min drive away and has many restaurants. Overall, our stay exceeded our expectations.
The road to get there is not ideal, the place is reachable by car but slow drive required

A stunning location. Beautiful vineyards with local bistros and villages nearby ripe for exploring. The pool was very nice and overall, this place is great value and great service. The drive to Florence is easy too!
The beds weren’t the most comfortable, could do with replacing.

Wonderful location, great views, fantastic breakfast, great host, lovely room.
Very minor point, would be helpful if check in instructions were sent out prior to the visit just in case no one is available at the property.

Beautiful setting in the Tuscan hills - quaint, clean room with comfortable bed. Close to a very good restaurant by foot and 20 min by car from Firenze yet you are completely in the countryside. The pool is clean, spacious and a great addition to cool off in the summer. AC was a definite plus in this heat as well. Good breakfast options.
Nothing :)
