What an amazing Charme hotel. The pictures don't do it justice in my opinion as you feel welcome, cozy as well as posh all at the same time. My sister and I shared a room - so spacious (twin bed in a separate space and a queen canopy bed) and included the rooftop private patio. A bonus we did not expect! My father's room was queen and equally charming. The rooms and common areas are well-appointed. You are in a high-end place with reasonable prices- considering the location. The breakfast is amazing. The prunes- INSANE. From made-to-order omelets to fruit and meats/cheese/yogurt and beverages. 10 out of 10. The servers are top-notch and are very attentive. The front desk made several recommendations for restaurants- one, about a 5 min walk from the hotel (same street- just a few mins away) was our favorite meal. Close to everything - yet quiet and peaceful, THIS is the place to be.

The breakfast was lovely. All the waiters were very helpful and welcoming. They were always smiling and very efficient. The hotel was lovely. Everything you need and more. The decor is lovely and very peaceful. The sight from the balcony overlooking the sea is breathtaking. I could not have been looked after better by Marcello and Denise. They certainly were amazing. I will definitely come back and highly recommend. Thank you everyone at the hotel x

The two room suite we stayed in, with 3 adults, worked well for our family. It was elegant and comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

The person at the front desk recommended a not so good restaurant for us for dinner. We think it would be good to have a few really nice recommendations for your guests.

We had a great stay here -- Ortigia is so small that everything is within walking distance, but was nice to be right on the water and in a calm area of town. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They do offer valet parking, which is helpful because you can't park right outside of the hotel, so definitely be aware. There is also a parking lot relatively close that you can park in for a daily rate.

Our room was lovely, but it was definitely smaller than what we were expecting after looking at pictures online, so felt a little tight, but we were out and about most of the time anyhow.

The hotel is a very charming renovated palace, with old world touches, and many sitting areas in which to relax. The hotel location is perfect. Right next to the sea, but also very close to the town center. We had a Superior Double room which was ideal. Our room faced a small street, but we had a beautiful view of the sea from our small balcony. The decor in our room was charming, the room was a comfortable size for 2 of us, the bathroom was clean and nicely appointed.

The breakfast was a little disappointing. The bowl of scrambled eggs were piled on top of other foods in the warming tray, and were not replaced when empty. The breakfast selection was not as good as other luxury hotels, very limited, fresh cooked, warmed food and fresh fruit options. The server was very friendly and responsive, but I think she was handling all the breakfast guests alone -- the breakfast service could have used more staff. Overall, the hotel's service wasn't what I would expect from a luxury hotel. Staff were very pleasant, but they seemed a bit frazzled and busy. Often, there was no one at the front desk to answer questions, we weren't offered help with our bags on arrival or departure.

Hotel is located in a old converted building. In fact there are 2 of them opposite from eachother. We had booked a family suite for 4 persons and we got an immense room. In fact there were multiple rooms, all nicely decorated. Also very convenient to have 2 bathrooms (most familyrooms in hotels only have 1) and 2 complete double beds (elsewhere often a couch, bunkbed or smaller single beds). It was 110% luxury!!!

We only stayed one night to explore Syracuse. Should have decided to book 2 nights because the city is equally impressive. But it will burn a hole in your budget:)

The rooms were nice — our group had a lovely corner sea view room, another sea view room, and the two bedroom apartment in the adjacent building, all of which were lovely. Breakfast was delicious — fresh, huge selection, abundant, delicious cappuccinos. Staff was very helpful and accommodating before and during our stay. Concierge helped with dinner reservations, local information, private car transport, private boat tour, everything. Would absolutely recommend for a nice stay in a charming, boutique hotel in Ortigia!

The Algilà Ortigia Charme Hotel truly won us over with its impressively friendly and helpful concierge, making our stay seamless and delightful. The hotel's location in the heart of Ortigia couldn't have been better for exploring the city's enchanting streets. Additionally, we were smitten by the hotel's exquisite blend of architectural charm and modern amenities, all presented with an admirable level of cleanliness.

A minor drawback was the sound isolation in the rooms; the energetic echoes of children playing in the corridors were occasionally noticeable. That said, we understand this is often a characteristic of historical buildings, and it did not significantly detract from our overall enjoyment of the stay.

The one bar only had seats for about 10-15 people which is too small as over 50 bedrooms. They should set up a bar in the second building ( where our bedroom was) as it has a lovely and large lounge.- but empty. Transferring from the bar to the empty lounge is not fun Also the hairdryer in the bedroom is fixed to the bathroom wall ( damp room makes hair frizzy) and is too basic a model

Excellent, high caliber hotel. It was previously a palace and has been completely renovated. Comfortable rooms, excellent beds and showers. Centrally located. Delicious breakfast buffet. We will return.

Breakfast service was a bit slow; appear to be understaffed. Our room had several steps (including 3 downward steps immediately upon opening the door) and check-in staff didn’t alert us.
