Fall in love with Taormina with your base at Villa Astoria. The view from our bedroom was gorgeous. Access to the beach was very easy with the cable cars (€10 return Taormina - Mazzarò). We reserved parking on the premises which was very convenient. Parking in town is not at all easy, so this was very helpful. Walking to the old town was fast and there are many beautiful stores to visit. Hidden bars and restaurants sprinkled all over town. And of course you can walk past the White Lotus hotel. Maybe you'll spot the ghost of Tanya McQuoid in her Miss Piggy outfit.

Loved my stay here. Being just out of the old town made it a lovely quiet oasis to come home to. Beautiful views. Comfortable room. Nice, happy, helpful staff. Close to the cable car, so easy to go down for a swim, a short, easy walk into the old town. Being directly across the road from the bus station makes it easy to get to other places.

The view from our room (24) was spectacular. This small hotel is a gem with very helpful staff, a beautiful courtyard that comes with a friendly dog and our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast included the usual pastries plus eggs, yogurts, bacon and fruit. Coffee was delicious and made as ordered. The hotel is across the street from the bus station and well located within Taormina.

The location is fantastic. It’s across from the bus terminal which is handy for travelling to and from the airport - I didn’t have to traipse luggage around. It’s about a 10 minute walk to Corso Umberto and a short walk to the funicular which takes you to and from the beach. My room had a lovely view which I appreciated each morning when I woke up. The room itself was quite basic, and could have been improved with a few upgrades such as new shower doors, soap holder etc in the shower. The shower doors would get stuck on me each time, and the soap holder was hanging off a little. However, none of these things really mattered because I was so delighted with the hotel overall, and I was so happy to be in Taormina. My room was beautifully cleaned every day and smelled like fresh lemons when I arrived back after a few hours at the beach. I think it’s the staff which makes this place truly special. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. After checking out, I learned that there were bus strikes and no buses were going to the airport. I was obviously panicked as I didn’t want to miss my fight. It was pouring with rain and after about 30 mins I went back to reception at the hotel who called a local taxi for me and two other guests who were also flying home. They kept updating us with arrival times for the taxi too. I really felt taken care of. I would definitely stay again and I’d be happy to recommend this place to friends.

The location of the hotel was amazing with spectacular views , we stayed in the small superior double room. Whilst the room was small the view and balcony made up for it . Comfy beds , room cleaned daily . Very happy with our choice. A 5 minute walk to the cable cars to take you down to the local beach . However we preferred to take a 15 min bus ride into Giardini Naxos , which had a lovely sand beach and sunbeds with an umbrella at 20 Euros . A simple 10 minute stroll takes you right into town. Could not fault it . Luca and the staff were friendly , helpful and welcoming. Lucy the hotel dog stole everyone's hearts. Breakfast was fruit , cereal , toast and boiled /scranbled eggs , bacon, hams ,cheeses and yogurts. Perfect to start your day with . Honestly was so happy with our choice and being opposite the bus terminal made arriving , departing and getting around the island easy ❤️

Excellent location with a couple of minutes walk into the city centre and directly opposite the bus station. The staff were very helpful with providing recommendations and assisting with bookings. Wr had s lovely room with a balcony overlooking the sea. Just gorgeous

The breakfast was below standard. The scrambled eggs were green in colour in sections (inedible), and the boiled eggs did not look fresh. They served plums that were rotting, the same bowl 3 days in a row. They served the same Olives bowl three days in a row without even filling it up. The pastries were very dark in color, it looked like they reheated yesterday's leftovers.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Astoria with our family. The building itself is absolutely stunning and gorgeously renovated. Each of our rooms was well appointed, spotlessly clean, and each had a balcony with spectacular ocean views. Sunrises were amazing! The staff were awesome! Our first encounter was with Luca who stayed up well past the usual check in time to greet us at midnight (and our hire vehicle- a small bus!) He and Mauro were great fun and a great help with information, maps, and tour bookings during our stay. They even helped our young adult children out with where the popular nightspots were. This beautiful villa truly is 2 mins walk to the cablecar down to the gorgeous beaches below, and a 5 minute walk to where all the action is of the beautiful streets and laneways of the Old Town. We loved Taormina's charm so much, and it was made all the more perfect being able to come home to this gorgeous little Italian Villa with its own delightful charm and personality.

The location was the best ever! You don’t need a car. You can take the bus everywhere and it is right across the street. You can even buy water and snacks there. You are also very close to the gondola which takes you down to the beach. You are in the ideal location. The view from our room was amazing from our little balcony. Breakfast in the morning was simple but good. Nice variety of fresh breads, cereal, cold cuts, eggs, fresh juices and great coffee. Giuseppe and his associates at the front desk were very helpful. They made special arrangements for us to arrive late, a parking space for our car (20eu a night) and bookings for activities. A simple clean and friendly hotel. Should we return we would definitely stay here again.

Our stay at Villa Astoria was nothing short of relaxing and met all our expectations. Firstly the location is perfect. It’s right across the street from the bus terminal so if you get the public bus from Catania airport to Taormina it will stop you right in front of the hotel. The hotel is about a short 5 minute walk from Corso Umberto, the main street in Taormina so quite central but far enough from the hustle and bustle. The hotel its self is lovely. We stayed in the superior room with a balcony and seaview and it did not disappoint. Enjoyed unwinding watching the view of Mazzaro bay after a day walking the streets of Taormina and at the beach. The room was spotless, very clean. The air conditioning worked well, the bed was comfy and the room also had a mini fridge so you can keep some cool drinks for after exploring the city in the summer heat. The bathroom was big with a good sized comfortable shower. Breakfast was nice with a decent selection of sweet pastries, fruits and eggs and bacon. The staff were lovely. Really friendly and attentive. They even gave us a map and went over the main city attractions and suggested some restaurants as well.

Nothing really bad to say. The only thing I can think of which could be an issue for some is that there was no elevator. However that said the hotel is not that big. We walked about 5 flights of stairs to get to our room as it was at the top but for us it wasn’t really an issue.
