We have visited Mannheim several times during the last years, and have also stayed in this hotel before. The Intercity Hotel is located directly next to the main train station. The air-conditioned room was not facing the train station which meant that it was quieter than others. The room was clean and sufficiently spacious for two; this was also true for the bathroom. The breakfast buffet offers a wide selection of food and is fairly competitively priced at 19 EUR (I initially thought this was expensive but spent roughly 15 EUR on a smaller breakfast in a cafe in the city). Staff was generally very friendly and attentive. Hotel prices in Mannheim are generally on the low side compared to other German cities, and I would stay here again if the price is right. If you look for parking, the least expensive parking garage is the "Parkgarage Universität Mensa" - not much further to walk than the parking garages maintained by the city of Mannheim but half the price.

Some minor points: (1) The air condition seemed to work but the temperature in the room was clearly higher than that on the display. (2) The water temperature in the shower was difficult to regulate. (3) Some people might find the mattress of the beds quite hard.

The location is magnificent! It is right next to the central station and it took only 10 minutes walk to the city center. The staff was really helpful both during check-in and check-out, the rooms are spacious and clean. The AC in the room is more than enough.

Although this is not the hotel's fault, since it is right next to the central station (which is a big plus) there were maintenance at the station every single night after midnight. The windows are good enough to keep the noise outside, but that means you have to sleep windows closed. So get a room across the building if possible :)

The staff are very polite and helpful, the room is clean, has great air conditioning and the windows completely block any sound coming from the tram station nearby.

The Ironing service can definitely be improved. Its an 11 story hotel and only a few Iron/Ironing tables and they literally gave me the devices in the last minutes before I had to leave. It would have been better if they had an ironing room instead so that people could use it and leave rather than holding the devices hostage in their own room. The drain in the shower was also slow and needed unblocking. The breakfast was also mediocre specially for its price

Location was perfect for our needs. Staff friendly and helpful.

The water adjustment in the shower was not good. Very difficult to get something other than very cold or very hot. We told the staff and the person who deals with these things just said he was aware that some of the showers still needed repair. When we checked out the staff made no mention of that, but when they asked how everything was and we told them again, if was just acknowledged with a "yes we know..." A little "apology of sorts" would be more effective... Otherwise very nice.

This is a familiar haunt of mine when I am in the area both for it's proximity to the nearby mainline railway station but also because it is a high standard Intercity hotel. Particulary of note is the great choice of fayre in the breakfast room! I spent two separate nights here and found the staff on both occasions to be most obliging.

The short answer really is nothing.

Room was clean, location is excelent, breakfast is tasty.

The last payment I had to do was unsuccessful for some reason (maybe internet connection), second attempt as well, than it worked the third time but by paying to the POS device.

IntercityHotel Mannheim is the best price for money I know in Mannheim. It's located very near the train station with a lot of public transportation connections but also parkings are very nearby. Around the corner there are many small and good priced restaurants to eat. The check in and check out went extremely smoot.

Good value for money, the room was clean and comfortable and the reception staff were polite and friendly. The hotel is situated right next to the train station within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the tram line. We were a little concerned it would be a noisy at night being so central but we were up on the 6th floor and couldn't hear anything! The air con kept the room nice and cool and the beds were very comfortable.

My mum and I requested a twin room with separate single beds but as the room was quite small the beds were right next to each other so didn't allow for a lot of space. The cost for breakfast was very expensive at 17 euros per person so we decided to grab a pastry and coffee at a lovely cafe across the road instead for more than half the price!

Location was amazing. Couldn’t be better. Room abit small but still ok. Clean and comfortable

Room had no water kettle. The room was too grey in tone, no warmth, just felt like a business hotel

Ultra convenient for train or bus travels. A short walk from the city center. I had a great corner room with lots of light and views. Room was clean and bathroom spotless.

Breakfast variety could be better.
