Stayed in the loft room, kitchenette downstairs, bedroom upstairs and large bathroom, great shower, small balcony, tv upstairs and downstairs. Hotel is very quiet but can hear the odd train toot now and then. 2 split system aircon heats up the room well. Stayed here before as location is very good. Great pub meals nearby at table 48, Munster arms (both 1 min walk) and found rusty spud 1 block away for great baked potatoes. Note Macca's is also a short walk. Easy 10 minutes walk to main train station and a Saturday ride into Melbourne was < $8 return. Cheaper than petrol, parking and the stress. Was scheduled roughly hourly and takes under 90 mins to southern cross station.

Shower water overflows outside of shower, pools then drains via a small drain, but makes tiled floor wet.

Very clean. Quality bed. Was quiet. Great location, nice bathroom, good TV. Nice carpet. Kitchenette was very basic, but good. Top 3 motels I've ever been in.

I came in late, in a loud car and had trouble seeing the room numbers as I drove around. It was because it was full and all the other cars were in the way. I tried to come in as quiet as I could, but struggling to see the room numbers in the dark, with the other cars in the way, made me a bit louder than I needed to be. It's a very small thing and I think that it would rarely be an issue.

We had a separate lounge and kitchen. Had everything we needed. It was absolutely perfect. Lovely huge bed. So comfy. Very clean. No low chairs. Seating was very good. It was very quiet. No stairs. Car parking at door. Huge desk and chair to do a bit of work at. Powerpoint locations were important to us, and were just where we needed them. Electric blanket on the bed was so nice. Nice sized table to eat meals. Walk to food outlets and supermarket. You could not fault it. The staff were helpful and very nice and friendly. We will definitely stay there again and recommend it to family/friends.

There was nothing we did not like.

Comfy and clean room. A full-size fridge and a kitchenette (toaster, kettle, microwave, some utensils). We were passing through Ballarat, so only had the overnight stay. There were a few restaurants/dining options nearby, within easy walking distance.

This is quite dangerous and needs to be fixed: the bathroom vanity taps are incorrectly connected in the unit we stayed in. Unit 9. Hot water - and it's very hot! - coming from the cold tap, and cold water from the hot tap.

Central location, good communication regarding check-in/check-out and clean, pretty comfortable facilities.

The bed was ok, but not super comfortable. One of the chairs had a split leg, so when my husband sat on it he fell to the floor - we brought it to the attention of one of the cleaners, so hopefully the chair has been replaced now. It was handy to have toiletries provided, but having individual packages rather than a bulk pack/dispenser is not very eco-friendly these days - this was the first time in some time that we have stayed somewhere with individual toiletries provided in plastic packaging.

Honestly, it exceeded my expectations. I was expecting a room, but it turned out to be a suite with a kitchen and all the necessary kitchen tools, such as a toaster, tea packages, a fridge, two TVs (one in the lobby and one in the bedroom), a private spa, and more. The room, towels, bed, and linen were all quite clean. The hotel is well-located in Ballarat and easily accessible, especially at night when you want to have a drink at bars. You can walk to the hotel without concerns about breaking any driving rules. Parking the car in front of the room made it easy to move our belongings in and out. I highly recommend this hotel, and if I plan another trip to Ballarat, I will definitely choose the same hotel for my stay.

The only negative point was the unavailability of breakfast in the hotel, however was not a big deal.

Exceptional value for money, Great location, set well back off busy street, very quiet.

Prior to check-out time, issue with no water coming to any of taps in the room, also happened with friends staying over other side of facility, I was impatient and didn't shower, apparently if I'd waited 5 more minutes water flow returned to normal (so I was told by my friends over the other side)!? No problem with this at all previous night. Parking was a little tight!

Central location to all Ballarat amenities. Safe and secure parking. Clean, modern, MASSIVE open plan room with super comfy beds and couch and kitchen facilities. Large bathroom - excellent water pressure plus hand bars and a seat inside the shower for people with mobility issues. Friendly and warm customer service at reception desk. We highly recommend The Menzies in Ballarat.. A short not even 10-minute drive to Kryal Castle and less than 10 minutes to Sovereign Hill. A*****

Nothing to dislike. Loved EVERYTHING about The Menzies. It will be our preferred place in Ballarat from here on in. EXCELLENT value for money.

A very spacious room and a very comfortable bed and pillows. The location was good, there was various eating places close by. We walked to a restaurant called Table 48 which was very close by, and the owner and staff were very friendly, and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. We spent an enjoyable day at Sovereign Hill historic Village and a few hours at The Ballarat Botanic Gardens.

There was an electric blanket on the bed and they'd put it on so that the bed was all nice and snug and delightful and - after the 6.5 hour drive I'd had to get there, I could have kissed them for the hot blanket. Also, we needed one of the bunk beds made up at short notice, and they responded to the request within minutes and brought all the bedding really quickly, which was great.

Having to leave. :( Could happily have stayed several days, but - alas - we were only up there for one night.
