The staff were very kind and friendly and they could speak English quite fluently. The room was quite old.

The view of Mount Fuji is absolutely breathtaking. We had the view from our balcony. There's also a public bath that is quite fine too.

It is a bit far from everything. It's convenient if you go by car. I'm not sure if it's a good choice if you go by other means of transportation.

Just spent three nights at this wonderful hotel. They are so welcoming and gave us such amazing service! The owner was so great and made us feel right at home with tea and treats after a long car ride. One lovely man helped us park and took our bags up the flights of stairs. We found the beds very comfortable and the view from the room, Onsen and roof top are beautiful. The Onsen was a highlight after a long day of exploring, I looked so forward to soaking and it being open all through the night and early morning was great for me because not used to the time change I would soak 3:00 in the morning. Thank you Shoji Lake Hotel for an amazing stay!

I cannot recommend this property more and we will definitely be back! The host is so gracious and kind, greeted us at the door and helped us take photos The rooms are utterly beautiful with traditional tatami mats and a stunning view of Mt Fuji Very modern, specious bathroom with great toilet Private onsen Can hire kayaks on the lake Also close by is the most stunning hike ever There were barely any tourists around and it felt so peaceful and serene.

Not that I didn’t like it, but good to be aware that it is fairly isolated from the main area. There is one restaurant and convenience store within walking distance, which was delicious, but would advise bringing some convenience store meals to reheat as well. The idea transport would be to drive, otherwise there is a bus that drives past 4 times a day.

The hotel is truly wonderful. Its situated near the most beautiful lake I’ve seen and the Fuji Mountain View is just amazing from there. Mr. Kobayash (hopefully I write it correctly) the place’s owner is very friendly, hospitable and nice person. The whole hotel staff taked care of us and treated us like they’re best guests. I would definitely come back here. It’s about 20 min on a bus from the nearest big city or you can rent a bike in the hotel to ride around the town. Very peaceful place and the hotel also has hot tub with thermal water which was a huge plus for us💚

I’m so glad I chose this place! We stayed for four nights while exploring the Mount Fuji area, and the experience was amazing. The owner was incredibly welcoming and helpful with everything. Our tatami room was beautiful and clean, and we had an amazing view of Mount Fuji right from our window. There’s plenty of parking, and the outdoor onsen is modern, with stunning Fuji views—open all night! Plus, they provide a free yukata to use during the stay, which was a nice bonus!

The hotel is a bit old, especially in the halls, but the room and bathroom are fully remodeled and feel brand new. Everything else was so great that it didn’t even bother us!

Beautifully located!!! Just for that worthy to stay (at least one night). Better to go by car, but in case that’s not possible, you can go by regular bus, as there’s a stop in front of the hotel. There’s a restaurant walking distance. Amazing and friendly staff, the owner welcomes you when you arrive, even ask your camera to take pictures of you with Fuji Mt. They don’t speak english very well (normal in Japan), but they do their best to fill your needs. The hotel offers 2 different baths (open and closed), and it’s divided by men/women (from 3pm to very late at night). They dont have lift. The ground floor was remodeled, so very new, the rooms are a bit old.

It’s a very interesting experience to sleep in a traditional japonese room, but it’s not the most comfortable. For one night I think it’s ok. Bed a bit hard, pillows are hard too. No blackout curtains, so the room lights up when the sun comes.

We loved and enjoyed every minute of our stay here, from the warm welcome and service of the staff (we were personally welcomed by the owner 🥰) to the cozy and best futon beds I ever sleep on. I had the best sleep here during our trip! The view of our room is spectacular. Unblocked and best view of the Mt. Fuji for me. The owner was so sweet to take a lot of pictures for us. I also loved their open bath (onsen). Peaceful and quiet. One of a kind experience. Already booked our next winter trip here. The place has a number of camping site activities good for couples and families. Our stay is indeed a remarkable experience and I highly recommend this place.

One should note the last bus schedule coming from shin-fuji station which is at 2pm. Beyond that you need to take a taxi.

Very friendly and helpful staff, Location was superb. View from the rooms and rooftop terrace look out over the lake and Mount Fuji, which was beautiful. Hotel felt calm and relaxing. Lovely onsen facilities.

Rooms are dated, and could do with some renovations, but it looks like these are in progress. Breakfast was more of a picnic lunch, but still delicious. Very limited food options for dinner as the hotel does not currently offer, and the two nearby restaurants were closed. They did warn us tho, and able to bring food with us and use their microwave.

My mum and I stayed for two nights in this hotel and it was a wonderful stay. As we got off the bus the wonderful owner came and greeted us and welcomed us with tea and check in instructions. We were fortunate enough to have clear sky and the reflection on the lake of Fuji San is incredible. The room had the most amazing view of Fuji San, space, comfort and amenities. The lake location has two small cafe/restaurants that we visited. We also had one dinner in the common area, as the restaurants close early, again with an amazing view. They also sell drinks and snacks/ramen in reception too. The onsens are open until late and are very wonderful. A gorgeous panoramic 1 hour hike can be found 5 minutes walk from the hotel. All in all the stay was very lovely, the most memorable take away has to be the kind staff who were lovely to chat too, attentive and kind. The owner, a wonderful man who made us feel most welcome in his hotel. Would love to visit again.
