Our room was very large and clean (including cleaning during the day while we were out). The baths are easy to book online and the other amenities such as a massage chair, board games and free coffee / tea during the day were great. We ate breakfast one morning at the stay, which was beautifully presented and affordable in price. As English speakers with limited vocabulary in Japanese, the staff was very accommodating and easy to communicate with.

There are lovely onsen baths and showers that can be booked, but some travelers may find it odd to not be able to quickly take a shower without a reservation. We did not have an issue though as the baths were typically available when we wanted to use them and the booking was very easy.

I had such a lovely stay! Some of the staff were Taiwanese so communication was no problem in English and Chinese. Very friendly! Also the owner (I think) was accommodating and let me use the Onsen outside of the reservation times because there were not many guests at the time. The onsen was very relaxing and the online booking system for it was easy and convenient. My tatami room was very cute and cozy and they made my stay very comfortable with providing hot water thermal pot refills and answering any questions I had. The breakfast was delicious and held in the dining hall with other guests at 8am. The owner was kind enough to even play a projection video in English when I arrived to eat since he knew I was an English speaker. I felt very included! Everything was clean and tidy. Well kept and organized. They have a great system going here. The cherry on top was they had a PS5 which I enjoyed playing!! There’s some restaurants down the road and a super market too so very convenient. A close walk to the coastline where you can go hiking with a gorgeous view! At my checkout, the owner so kindly offered to drop me off at the station too. Very kind! I had a wonderful stay!

The only two things that were difficult for me were not really their fault: - since I stayed in winter (December) the room was very dry because of the heater AC so it was hard for me to breath. I have asthma so it was tough. I asked if they had any humidifiers but they didn’t, so I went to Daiso down the road to pick one up and sleep with it next to my face to survive the night. - sleeping on the futon on the tatami floor isn’t the most comfortable so my body was a bit achey. But that’s understandable since I’m simply not used to that.

Gigantic room which could comfortably have fit about 8 people. Staff were very accommodating, and were kind enough to give us a lift to the Jogasaki coast on our departure. Quality of the meals was excellent, and proportions were extremely generous. We thought the online system for booking out time in the baths was efficient and easy to use, and certainly better than the first-come first-served system that seems to dominate elsewhere.

Ryokan is very clean and well kept, but the facilities are on the older side. Service was also a touch more hands off than some of the other ryokan we stayed in on our trip, which is to be expected at this price point. It also overlooks a main road, though the noise in our experience was quite minimal.

The room was so big for the price my two friends and I paid and the facilities were great. We could reserve a specific bath time and there’s a cozy lobby area. But above all, the owner was so kind. He recommended going to Mt. Omuro which we didn’t even know about and he offered to drive us there. When we were coming back down from the mountain that had an amazing view of fuji by the way, we realized we couldn’t make the bus we were planning on taking, so he also kindly picked us up and drove us back to the train station. This is the best hospitality I have ever received anywhere and I will definitely be coming back again!

During my recent stay at this ryokan, I was delighted by its convenient location, just a short walk from the Izu-Kogen train station. The owner's hospitality was exceptional; he kindly offered to pick us up and was even willing to drive us to various local attractions. This ryokan became our base for exploring Izu, using the nearby station to get to places like Shimoda, Atagawa, and Kawazu. The ryokan itself was impeccably clean, providing spacious and comfortable rooms that felt like a serene retreat. It was fun to pick out our own yukatas. One of the highlights was the online booking system for the onsens. This user-friendly feature allowed us to reserve up to an hour for each session, which was a perfect way to unwind after a chilly day spent exploring. The warm, soothing waters of the onsen were just what we needed to rejuvenate.

This place is amazing, a must stay if you are staying in Ito area. We got twin room, so spacious and gorgeous tatami mats. You can request the owner to pick you up from the Izu Kogen Station on their website. A short walk and drive to the ryokan. They have Yukata available and 2 bath houses you can use. You can reserve you time slot for private bath use using the QR code they give you when you stay. The environment was very homey and relaxing. The staff there are very helpful and will assist with anything you need. Best to use Google translate for communication, but ehy do understand some English. The owner will take you to any attractions nearby, he drove to Izu-Shaboten zoo, next to it was also the lift to take you up the green mountain. We spent 3 hours at zoo and lift experience takes an hour. The best Japanese breakfast they served us each morning. Fresh ingredients from nearby areas. I will stay here again given the chance. Suspension bridge 15 min walk, buddhist temple to min walk, train station 10 min walk away. Best ryokan experience even if your japanese is not good.

The facilities were clean and beautiful (tatami floors) also they lend you yukatas to wear inside but you can also take them out if you want. The meals were delicious, we tried both breakfasts and the plentiful dinner. The personal was very attentive and helpful, always at hand whenever we needed help, and also with good english level so communication was not a problem. They also gave us a ride to the coast and to the train stations. The bath was wonderful, private and easy to reserve. The beds (futon) were very comfortable and the room was well conditioned and with beautiful traditional panels. 10/10 experience

A terrific stay in a fabulous hotel. Hiyoshi went out of his way to look after us, from giving us lifts to helping in advance with our plan to catch the Suruga Ferry when we left. The staff were fantastic, and a delicious breakfast fed us until a dinner which was sumptuous! And we haven’t even mentioned the onsen :):):) or the massage chair! or the lovely rooms. We stayed 2 nights which included outings to Jogasaki trail, Mt Omuro, Kawazu falls and Shimoda.

Can’t think of a thing.

The hospitality was amazing! The owner is incredibly kind; he picked me up from Izu Kogen Station for check-in and went out of his way to show me around the area—dropping me off at Mt. Omuro on day 1 and the trail to Kadowaki Bridge on day 2 after I had checked out, and even sending me to the nearest station after I finished the short walking trail. The meals are delicious, with many little dishes to try, and the menu changes daily. The room is exactly as advertised—clean and cozy, giving the feeling of staying at a Japanese friend's house. In your room, there's a QR code to book the shower/onsen area. Everything has Japanese, English, and Chinese labels or explanations, which is great for international tourists like me. The staff were friendly and helpful. The accommodation is a 7-minute walk to the Izu Kogen station south exit, with convenience stores nearby and a bus stop right next to it. I highly recommend it if you're planning to visit this area; it's laid back and relaxing. I truly enjoyed my stay and exploring the nearby attractions.

We only stayed for one night, but would have loved to stay longer as a jumping off point for exploring the Izu peninsula. The staff was very friendly and exceptionally accommodating. They proactively asked us where we were going to visit/explore, and jumped at the chance to give us a ride to the desired location. It's a relatively small operation, but really seemed like a well-greased system. The premises were old, but kept up really well and clean. The staff member we spoke to grew up at that very location, as his grandfather founded to the ryokan back in the 1930's. You can tell that they know what they're doing. The bathroom, and I do mean bath-rooms, that you reserve for private use were well stocked and clean, and a perfect end to a day full of outdoors and hiking around.
