Location is ideal, being very close to the train station and a 10 minute walk from the historical centre, which made it well situated for a quick pit stop before travelling onwards the next morning. Also close to a bunch of less touristy restaurants. Hotel decor and ambiance is very nice.

No tattoos in the gym or onsen, even covered up with patches - if this affects you, I recommend staying at one of the tourist hotels that caters to this culture difference. Obviously this taboo is still commonplace in Japan but many hotels don't abide by it when they know they attract many foreign tourists.

The location first of all. The hotel is visible from the train station. The entrance is stylish and the foyer as well. The staff was polite and efficient. There was a nice smell in the foyer. We were given a room with a limited view, but we could open the window to let some fresh air in. The room was of average size, but it was comfortable. We loved the public bath, hot water tub was a nice addition. It was never crowded when I used it and is well organised. The breakfast area had a beautiful view and could be accessed during the day to have a drink.

The small dishes served at breakfast had a glad wrap on them.

It's so stylish! I love the big public bath on the11th floor, too! The lounge on the 11th floor has free drinks and nice view. I also enjoyed the free local sake/wine (only the first one, and the second one onwards are 100 yen only) tasting 😁 Great way to try out local sake and wine! Love their service overall :)

It was a bit difficult to find the hotel from the station. The entrance is in a bit run-down shopping arcade, which I wasn't expecting. There are only two washier/dryer and they were always used...I had to wait for 2-3 hours until my turn comes around..

The hotel is in a wonderful location - the hotel can be accessed directly from the center street shortcut tunnel to the Bikan Historical quarter, right across the street from the train station. Rooms were very well equipped, beds were quite comfortable. Appreciated the local touches in the rooms, i.e. canvas/textile goods. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Very much enjoyed the upper floor view lounge, not only the panoramic view but also the varied and well presented drink amenities. The public bath was wonderful, nicely equipped and spacious. Very much enjoyed our stay and would love to return!

Wish we could have planned ahead better and made sure we did breakfast at the hotel.

Excellent value for the money. Location is great: you can walk to and from the train station undercover almost the entire way (great for rainy days), there is a big Marunaka supermarket close by, and the Bikan quarter is only about a 10 min. walk away. The room is spacious, the breakfast buffet is very good, and there is a large public bath. Breakfast is available until 10:00am and checkout is until 11:00am.

The public bath had annoying pop music playing in it, which made it less relaxing. There was no view from my room. There is only a shower in the room, no bathtub, so if you want to take a bath and don’t like public baths that might be a problem.

The hotel was quite impressive right from the lobby entry - a nicely done pond feature and welcoming lounge with pool table and sofas. The whole hotel feels new and fresh, with a sedate blue-grey theme. The rooms were well thought-out and all elements felt good-quality. The spa is very nice, well equipped and clean (I loved the tubs!). The breakfast room is lovely and airy, with views over Kurashiki. Breakfast was tasty, with a fresh cooked dish as well as the buffet options. There's also complimentary drinks outside of breakfast time. It's a short, mostly covered walk to the historic area, and only a few mins to the train station. We enjoyed our stay a lot, especially Kurashiki itself!

My window looked onto a nearby building wall, so the room was quite dark (though peaceful to sleep in). My father's room was lighter as it had a front window. If I'm being very picky, I didn't think the superior rooms felt particularly spacious, one side of the bed was still butted up to the wall. It might have felt small if sharing with another person. Overall, still great value and I would certainly stay again.

Stayed for a week with a ten year old and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Location perfect, between the station and historical area with plenty of restaurants, cafes, convenience stores within short walking distance and open until late. Also a chemist right out front. Information provided by the hotel staff was great. Limited English and a European with broken English was able to assist. Bicycles available for daily hire ($5AUD). Hotel as pictured, everything new and very clean. Firm beds, great sheets and adjustable room temperature. Pajama’s and many amenities provided. **Except coffee and milk. As a coffee lover I was dissappointed that the top floor complimentary coffee machine was only available to those who had pre booked breakfast, or after 3pm. A quick fix solved with a 7 Eleven a few minutes walk each morning whilst kiddo slept in. There are also vending machines with snacks and drinks on the top floor available 24/7, next to the two washing machines/ dryers. Onsen (guest public baths) was just amazing and opening hours provided morning and evenings. Loved that the TV provided washing machine and public bath status!

Loved most things, every travellers needs are different, but as a suggestion: - allow guests access to one coffee each morning (maybe provide a coffee pass as a takeaway option or coffee only area for those not wanting a full breakfast? - small breakfast option for ¥700-1000 including toast or cereal & a coffee/tea and we would have been there daily instead of once

This is a thoughly-modern, western-style hotel, right on the shopping street which abuts Kurashiki's Historic District. Many of the front desk staff were fluent in english. The hotel has many amenities which far exceed the room rates, such as sake-tasting and a pool table in the lobby. There is a free group bath, and coin laundry which share the top floor with the restaurant. I bought the breakfast for 1650yen, and it was delicious -- part buffet, with an additional cooked plate. The wet-bathroom had a big tub, and new fitments. They even gave us free water bottles and instant-green tea packets.

Truly, I can't think of anything I could have reasonably asked for. This place is a sure-win if you're visiting Kurashiki.

The onsen up in 11F was appreciated after days of walking heaps. Location is great! Access to tea, coffee, water, matcha from 3pm-11pm was great for a night cap! There is a gym on site, free pool table and sake tasting (first sake is free).

Nothing much. Minor thing we experienced was the carpeted room reeked a bit of that "old steamed carpet smell" at the start of our stay when we switched the AC from heating to cooling but quickly disappeared - we used the dehumidifier included in the room.

Vadim from reception was so friendly and helpful, so already at check in we felt so welcome in this hotel. Unfortunately we didn't have time to check out the onsen area on the 11th floor but it looked very nice. The room was very clean, again not very big, which wasn't a problem at all. The bathroom was also a delight. They even have a little heater behind the mirror so that it's never getting "foggy" which I found very cool. We booked the place instead of staying in Hiroshima because we wanted to see this cute little town which was definitely worth visiting. From the hotel you're in 10 minutes in the heart of the old town.

Nothing.
