This hotel is a complete gem. Nicely appointed and in a great location on the river. All of the staff were very kind and helpful, which was much appreciated given we do not speak Japanese. The breakfasts included in the room price were bountiful and amazing. We were also pleasantly surprised by the additional complimentary items such as a bath salt bar, hair and shampoo bar, and a glass of red wine and venison curry in the restaurant each night. All of these items were sampled and thoroughly enjoyed. Well done to the management and staff!

Nothing comes to mind

It's clearly more a business hotel than a tourism hotel, but they've come up with many smart and fun ideas, and free stuff, and goodies, which are original and unexpected, and therefore significantly enhance the experience.

Unfortunately, there's no restaurant for dinner so grabbing some food from the vending machine (and, to be honest, the free half-serving of venison that was one of the free goodies, together with red wine) was a bit of a low in an otherwise good experience. But the real issue was when we realized we had overlooked the booking of the breakfasts - we thought we could fix that easily, but we were almost frog-marched out of the restaurant and it took the reception employee half an hour to solve the problem!

This Hotel has the best view of of the Kushiro town. It was very relaxing and quiet and peaceful place. Staff at the hotel will go above and beyond to ensure you have a relaxing stay. Facilities and Rooms are good and comfortable. Room and Bathroom was really clean. I booked Japanese style room which had small cute garden in the balcony and it was great experience. there was shampoo, pillow and aroma bar which you can select. it was great experience and I will definitely stay here again.

If I really have to pick on something then I would say Hot water pressure in the shower was not strong. But it didn't bother me as Japanese style room comes with large bath tub and you can get free bath salt from lobby and choose from several options.

This is an old-school Japanese hotel - in a good way! All of the staff - especially Kaori-san were very polite and helpful. The room I booked was a very good size. The bathroom had a very nice shower. Breakfast was superb, a choice of main course with a good buffet. There's a nice lounge area with complementary wine and a venison curry-rice in the evening.

There was a smoking room next to the lounge area - so at times cigarette smoke could be smelt in the lounge area. The hotel Wi-Fi was quite slow and the signal was weak in some parts of the hotel

- spacious room and great location (central food area is across the bridge) - you can see the hotel put great care in the furnishing and food - awesome breakfast - right beside the main river where the scenery is very nice - cool castle building design and theme

- The closest convenient store is more than 5 minutes away - Shower water pressure is not very good; water temperature is barely adjustable (knob was stuck)

Everything! On arrival we were told our room had been upgraded to a king sized bedroom, and things just kept getting better. We were told free red wine (and other soft drinks) was available in the lounge, free venison curry would also be served there (which was delicious). There was a choice of free bath salts and a pillow bar. The room was fabulous, lots of space and storage, and a full size bath tub to enjoy the salts in. No onsen, but the bath tub and other freebie’s more than compensated. For breakfast there was a choice of ‘boxes’. We opted for the steak option. This came in addition to the buffet offerings of salads, dim sum, cereals, nuts, cakes, puddings, etc etc. Over our four weeks in Japan, this breakfast was by far the best, without needing to compromise by adding bacon and egg. The hotel was a very straightforward 15-20 minute walk from the station to the harbour area.

Particularly like the personalised breakfast with super good selection. Unfortunately for breakfast we can't find a piece of bread or toast which we found it strange.

The bathroom is extremely dangerous, to me it is a haphazard for elderly because the step from bathroom to bedroom floor is like 400mm or more than 1.5 feet tall without a holding bar or a proper step to step down. I think this type of bathroom is very dangerous and unfit for elderly to use it as this high step down is haphazard in most if not all western countries. Hope some immediate action can be taken by the hotel management.

The staff was lovely. They offer us lots of help. There were plenty of complementary, over-the-top services: a shampoo bar and pillow bar to choose what you like, a cosy lounge with free tea, juice, coffee and red wine. Breakfast was amazing: delicious Japanese/Western set meals with some buffet items. Made us feel safe and at home in this deserted city

The Double room was really small. It could barely fit one piece of luggage. And lots of rearrangement had to be made to fit two

Loved the seafood sashimi breakfast box - but all the set breakfasts were good with lots of food. We booked a deluxe room & it was nice to have a separate tub & shower room from the toilet & basin. Good air con. The lounge was great with complimentary soda , water & red wine.

The layout of the room was a bit cramped - but hey, this is Japan where rooms are much smaller anyway.

Spacious room which was well-designed, balcony area with a reclining chair, room oversees the Nasumi Bridge. Futons were comfortable and room was well-equipped. Hotel offers choice of pillows, a range of shampoo and conditioner to choose from, including bath salts. Cafe lounge to hang out and enjoy complimentary drinks and half-sized venison curry with rice. The buffet breakfast was delicious with a good spread too.
