beautiful house and setup we felt comfortable and at home. quiet place and easy to access buses trains or taxis. the onset setup was fantastic and we used it every day. beautiful home all round.

towels are very small for westerners - almost like a large flannel rather than a large fully towel. we could not turn the cooker on .

The machiya was very spacious and very charming. Plenty of room for our family of 4. The bath was bigger then we expected and can comfortably fit multiple people. It also opens into the garden so you can get a bit of an outdoor experience while winding down from a day of sightseeing.. There is also floor heating in multiple rooms which was a godsend in the winter. Highly recommended.

Kitchen supplies for preparing food is very limited. No toaster, rice cooker or cooking utensils. Pots and pans were very beat up. Kitchen is really only setup for reheating things in the microwave or making tea.

Large and comfortable traditional house with lots of space for a family. Great to be able to cook at home and do laundry. Showers and bathrooms were very spacious. Accommodation was close to the station

Could have been cleaned better - but the hosts came to clean as soon as we mentioned the issue. No heating in the downstairs bedroom which was a bit cold during the winter

The house is amazing and clean. Very comfortable and cozy. Great for a short experience in a Machiya.

The bathtub filled just a bit, and after that stopped. We tried to change the configuration but it didn't work and had to leave the shower handle in the bath to fill it to the top. There were a couple of broken objects before we checked in, and had to inform the staff about it. For the amount of money paid, the staff should be on top of those things and pre-check before any new booking.

Comfortable beds, lively large bath, heated floors, nice traditional feel.

Towels too small, no tea towels provided, small rubbish bin and water in taps wasn’t hot enough. Ran a bath that was barely worth it because of temperature

Traditional Japanese style ryokan, making for an unforgettable and memorable stay in Kyoto. Very spacious and clean facilities. Really good location right next to the bus line 50 that stops right in front.

AC upstairs was broken/did not turn on.

The host was excellent to allow us to leave our luggages at the reception and they were helpful to bring it to the house while we were out sightseeing

Better instructions to use the bath tub, water was too hot and we were not able to add cold water to the bath tub. The GF bathroom sink only has cold water, was unable to get any hot water

It was wonderful having our own space in a great location in Kyoto. The traditional house was wonderful for our time in Kyoto. We loved the private onsen.

The house was beautiful and immaculately clean. Everything was very traditional and delicate. The location was superb. I wish we could have stayed longer!

The only difficult part of thr process was checking in at a coffee shop that was a bit far from the actual house.
