1/ easy to contact by messages. Very reactive. 2/ WE were transported by car from the station (200m walk) very convenient when you have many luggages. 3/ you feel special from the start to the finish. The personnel were very classy, helpful, polite. 4/ We had the suite with the private onsen. It was a surprise to discover also a private sauna and massage chair. The luxuary in that room is incredible. Worth every yen (and we are not the kind of people that spend much on hotels, it was a luxuary that we granted ourselves for a special occasion and it made it very special) 5/ the breakfast Is top class japanese cuisine 6/ i recommand getting thé dinner (full kaiseki course). Master class delights. We had a proper private dining room for ourselves (i think included with the suit). 7/ the private onsen... Excellent with a good view. 8/ yudanaka IS a very nice village
Nothing. Absolutely perfect

The hotel is somewhat modern and has a touch of the traditional onsen hostel which is neat and quiet. You can tell there are more foreign customers than the locals. The room is right in size and we enjoyed the Mountain View. The stay was comfortable and we had a good sleep (not all Tatami is comfy in my experiences). The onsen was always empty and we decided not to book the private pool as the public one is almost like a private (maybe it’s an off-peak season?)
I do like about the staff understanding English but they seem not as passionate as the family-run hostel, they are friendly though. I wish there are more options of dinners as there were only two prices of options when the staff emailed me while I saw more choices on other Websites.

The staff were amazing and made the stay very memorable. The accommodation was outstanding value offering a large clean Japanese style room and an exceptional breakfast, the location is perfect for snow monkey park visit. Recommend booking the private Onsen and visiting the Sake bar. This property is very easy to access from Tokyo via Shinkansen to Nagano and then local train (200m walk to hotel). There are plenty of transport options within town to visit snow monkeys and lots of great dining options.

The hotel has the Japanese architecture style which is brilliant and the rooms are amazingly spacious. We had mountain views and it was spectacular to wake up and see the snow fall outside our window. The staff members are fabulous and liking to help with anything we asked for. The breakfast is delicious on both options, Japanese and western. Loved everything about this hotel.
The location of the hotel is a little remote from the ski areas. If you stay here and want to get to the snow it’s probably best to rent a car as the bus drive to the pistes and back is long

Great hotel with perfect balance between traditional and modern. The staff and service were out of this world amazing and so were the meals (breakfast and dinner) which were both included. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Great location, very close to station and bus stop to the snow monkeys. The arrival drink and the complementary Sake bar at night made it even more special. Thanks so much to the team at Hotel Tsubakino for the amazing stay!
We liked everything! And felt it was value for money with the amazing dinners included

The hotel is exceptional in every way. Perfect location, close to the station but not noisy at all. The staff was incredibly polite, helpful and professional; they turned our stay in an amazing experience. The facilities at the hotel are great and clean. I would personally recommend the private onsen, the sake bar during the evening and the breakfast. All these things have exceeded any expectations I had, in ways I could have not have thought of. We will always cherish the memories of this brief holiday.

The location is very convenient if you come by train, only five mins walk from the yudanakan station. Staff are all warm and super friendly and helpful. I left my file folder in the nagano express train, the conductor found it and the hotel staff went to the train station to pick up for me. As we moved to another hotel on the second day, they even helped to deliver our luggage there so that we could enjoy our day trip to the monkey park hassle free. The open onsen is a must try experience. There are wine and blue tooth speaker ready! Please do try their home made apple juice, best one I have ever had!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Hotel Tsubakino. The staff were extremely helpful and thoughtful in their service. We enjoyed the very relaxing onsen as well as the evening sake tasting and the delicious breakfast provided. The house apple juice was fantastic and we bought a bottle to take with us. They kept our luggage after check-out while we were visiting monkeys. We would definitely recommend staying here!

I enjoyed Hotel Tsubakino because it was very close to the train station. We were able to walk down a small hill and a around a corner from the train station and there it was! The staff were friendly and had us sit to explain ryokan’s and give us fresh apple juice before showing us to our room. We were able to book the private onset for four people for about $35 USD for an hour and a half. We had two people in the group who are vegetarian and they provided phenomenal traditional Japanese breakfast even with this request. I liked the variety of mushrooms, eggs, soups etc… In the morning we were able to take a taxi to see the snow monkey park. I would stay here again. It was a fun experience!!!
The traditional beds were not as comfortable as beds I am used to but it was okay for a night. Everything else offset this inconvenience.

Beautiful tradition hotel in such a lovely quiet spot. We visited in early December and had the first snow of the season. We loved visiting the Snow Monkeys (5 minute bus away) and the private onsen is a must!! My partner and I booked the private onsen two nights in a row and it had beautiful sunset views of the snowy mountains and we even got engaged while we were there! We will definitely be back!
