Came here on a tourist trip from NZ staying in all kinds of weird and wonderful places. This place far exceeded our expectations. Awesome remote location. Superb food. Gracious/humorous staff+locals. 11/10 do recommend

If you don’t have a car it’s a bit hard to get places as it’s out in the boonies. There is a school bus you can use in the morning

Koba and his team, the staff, were incredibly helpful and lovely people. The breakfast and dinner were truly organic, and the hot spring was so cozy, providing a relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay. I would confidently say that staying there was the highlight of our trip to Japan.

Food was amazing and cheap. The small store located inside was very convenient. Staff did everything they could to help even with a language barrier. It was our first time using a public onsen, very clean and locals were super nice explaining how to use. Overall very scenic and beautiful cabins.

Beautiful spot. We had a magical time driving here. Our cabin was very cool and the restaurant and little craft beer setup were a pleasant surprise.

A few more pedestal fans in the room would be great.

It's a beautiful spot. The cabins (the villas) are nice log cabins as long as you are ready to sleep Japanese style (futon on the floor) after you climbed a steep slippery ladder to the sleeping area. It's not a resort! It's what we will call a caravan park with cabins. Their website emphasises the meals & the good local produce used so it was a disappointment to arrive & find there is non available when we arrived (i guess it's available only in their busy period), check ahead. It's 15-20min Mt road drive to the nearest place you can eat. Breakfast was available at a modest cost & it was a humble japanese style. I will definitely go back there

Just be clear about the sleeping & food details & availability. We met a mature couple from Europe who were bit upset after spending the night without dinner...and i can't imagine them going down that ladder at night time if they needed to visit the toilet, it's actually very dangerous.

Very clean and quiet. We were looking for a place to getaway and relax in a peaceful place and this was perfect.

The cabins are intended for bring things from home, i.e. no cookware or even coffee cups. Things can be rented.

We booked a cabin in a lovely forest

It was advertised as having a kitchenette however there were no plates or cutlery and as we had purchased the coals for cooking 2,000 yen we had nothing to serve our food on. Spoke to management and was told this was not a service they provide. Wanted me to purchase throw away plates. The fridge also had no shelving. Stove but no pots??
