It's a traditional style guesthouse with tatami floors and low beds, very nice experience! Room and facilities were clean, on the ground level there is a common area with kitchen and fridge, available for guests, as well as some games. They have some leaflets about the city and tours available. Excelent, Nara is my favorite city in Japan so far!

Honestly, there are no real complaints. If anything, I'd say that it's quite funny to have a glass door separating the room from the toilet, so if you are traveling with someone, you better be comfortable doing your business in front of them (or go to the ground level common toilet)

Easy place to stay near the train station in Nara. The host was very friendly and let us leave our bags before check in while we explored during the day. We were able to hire out a couple of bikes from the accommodation, which made it so much easier to get around Nara. All the main attractions are close by, as well as places to eat. The room was spacious enough for two people and was very clean. Lots of amenities provided and places to sit in the common areas. Thanks again for having us!

If you have inconsiderate noisy neighbours, it can be very loud, especially being woken up at 5am by them as the walls are quite thin. We could also hear them snoring during the night. This isn’t the properties fault, just to note.

Guesthouse Nara Komachi is close to Nara JR station, and not far from the deer park, especially if you use the provided bikes. There are convenience stores and an Aeon within a 10 minute walk. There are also restaurants and bars near by, though I didn't eat at any of the ones directly near the hotel. I found the room to be to my liking. The style of the room was good for breaking up the monotony of business hotels that I had been staying at. Everything was clean and more or less what you expect. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. Check in was easy, and the hostess who oversaw my stay was both helpful and available. I think she was the only person working there, but this was never an issue with my stay.

Keep in mind that if you are looking to go to the Nara deer park, that the town is basically one long slope. This means you will be biking up hill to get there. I had a blast going downhill on my way back to the hotel, but its definitely something to consider if you can't exert yourself in bursts.

We received a very warm welcome when we arrived and we found them very friendly. We booked the Japanese style room and really liked it. We found it to be a good size compared to other places we had stayed and actually found the bed to be more comfortable than the Western style beds. The location was great as it was near to the JR station and also a large supermarket. We found the use of the well equipped kitchen to be a great help too Overall we enjoyed our stay and found it good value for money.

Nothing really to dislike. A minor point but the bathroom sink was extremely small making it difficult even to brush your teeth but perhaps the sinks are small in Japanese style rooms.

The guesthouse is located in a quiet residential area, at a walking distance from Nara JR station. The owner was very nice and friendly, the room was clean and with traditional Tatami style bed, which was very comfortable. The bathroom was small, but also very clean and fully equipped. The guesthouse offers shared spaces with kitchenette, table-games, comics and video-games. Wi-Fi and AC in the room were both working well. We appreciated that they have let us leave the luggage before check-in.

The bathroom was very small, especially the sink. The room is bright and blinds do not cover the light sufficiently in the morning.

This is a reasonably priced ryokan providing a traditional room with private bathroom, and a public space that offers a kitchenette and eating counter. If you were traveling with a group you could gather in the entry room and have a meal and conversation. I am elderly and found the futon pretty uncomfortable, and my room did not have a chair, though my friend's did. If I were younger I would have found this place sufficiently comfortable. it is reasonably close to the JR station, less so from the other station.

I would have liked a western bed, but I did choose this! I just did not anticipate the firmness of the futon.

The style of the room was modern, relaxing with a traditional Japanese feel! About a 4 minute walk away we ate the most delicious ramen before taking a 20 minute stroll in to the town. The location was perfect. The following day we went to visit the famous nara deers and too our surprise there were a couple 30 seconds away from the accommodation. The deer park it's self is only a short 20 minute walk away. The host was warming and welcoming. The accommodation also offered a small communal kitchen which included a microwave, kettle, fridge and mini hob.

The property is very well-connected, making it easy to get around the city. Additionally, it was very pleasant and comfortable. The staff speaks English and is exceptionally friendly

The property is quite small; they economize and make use of every space, which makes it difficult to move around with luggage without making noise. Additionally, there is no elevator, so you need to carry your suitcases up a very narrow staircase quietly to avoid disturbing other guests

The guesthouse is in a very convenient location and it's a very comfortable base. It's easy to get to from the JR train station and it's also easy to get to Nara Park and the main shopping area.We really enjoyed our stay and we didn't want to leave! You can hire bikes from the guesthouse which looked fun but we didn't get time to do so. We would recommend it.

Having stayed there in the past,we were a bit disappointed to find that there isn't usually anyone on the front desk any more, like there used to be;we enjoyed interacting with the reception team in the past. Otherwise it's a great guesthouse and we really enjoyed staying there;we would definitely stay there again.

Clean room, comfy bed and pillow. Tv in room which was good and little chairs to sit on. En-suite was nice- we found the glass door interesting but there was a curtain for privacy so no complaints. Free tea and coffee downstairs and a small kitchen. Near to station and short walk to Nara Park

Not a 24 hour reception for checkin but this is explained on booking.com and an email reminder is sent out a few days before, so not a problem for us.
