Super comfortable bed and ample space for the clothes. Also we liked the communal seating area with large bay windows, we spend a lot of time there. The lodge is located on the outskirts of the village, but we actually preferred that, seeing how crowded Niseko has become. Lawsons is just across the street, and a couple of nice restaurants right next door.

Not cheap. Also breakfast wasn’t included and would cost us 1500 yen extra per person. We opted for Lawsons food. Also there was no coffee supplied for the guests, and all the toiletries had to be purchased from the vending machine. Convenient, without a doubt, but for nearly $300 per night I feel some basics should have been included.

Beds are fantastically comfortable and warm. Our room had a little mezzanine area, which was great for storing our stuff and stretching.we could use the breakfast/ dining area to get a bit of work done, and also use the ‘kitchen’/family room, e which is Sunny and has a nice outlook, so it feels not at all crowded. The host Igs also extremely friendly and helpful. Parking is super convenient. Has a ski room with a bench for waxing ski gear, and some tools, iron etc.

Occasionally had problems with the hot water.

We arrived quite late, it was snowing and we were really cold (but loving it!). We stepped inside the house and it was everything we needed and more! It was so beautifully warm, our room was really cosy and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was substantial and sustained us for the whole day! Staff were really attentive and friendly. It was a really memorable and special experience for us, we highly recommend and would love stay there again one day.

This hotel was great and the owners were so kind and even offered to drop us off to the Hirafu welcome centre to catch our bus in the early morning. Me and my friend had an amazing time staying here on our ski trip. Would definitely come back!

Okashi-san is an exemplary host, kind, and smiling. Each day he happily shuttled us to and from the slopes with The Beatles seemingly on loop in the car. Our room was bigger than expected from the photos and included a mezzanine space which we used for storage. The bedroom and en-suite were simple but perfectly comfortable for our needs. The guest kitchen/living room is a nice space and perfect if you want to prepare something simple at home rather than eat out. The washer/dryer is a nice touch if you're staying longer. The breakfast was simple but lovely. Small selection of cereals, bread, pastries with a hot dish (typically eggs + meat).

A minor quibble but the provided towels (1 small bath + 1 hand per person) are only replaced on request after 5 days. We made do just fine but I'd probably pack a bath towel when staying again.

Pension Locomotion was amazing! It is very comfortable and a lot of care is taken to treat guests individually. I found the breakfast excellent and it was prepared only when each guest was ready. The staff are helpful and caring. We arrived by a bus to the main stop in the city and were prepared to walk to Locomotion but they came and picked us up anyway. It is also well located to the slopes of Hirafu. We could walk to the chairlifts each day. I would recommend the walk for snowboarders or skiiers with normal shoes and hire a locker at the mountain for the day to change to ski boots (cheap lockers). However, there is also the free Hirafu shuttle just nearby Locomotion so this is also an option.

Cozy and cute pension in Hirafu. Location is very good: Close to restaurants, convenient stores and also the free shuttle to Hirafu Welcome Center is just few meters away. a nice faculties for a snow week: there’s a ski room downstairs. nice common areas: breakfast lounge downstairs and there’s a kitchen and lounge upstairs which I have used quite a lot for doing some remote working. we booked the maisonette room which has two beds downstair and two futons in the loft plus a private bathroom. room was very cozy and clean, bathroom very basic but functional and clean. considering high prices in Niseko, this was very good value for a family (we are 4). highly recommended

it’s a pension so do not expect anything luxurious but we did not find anything we did not like.

The location wasn't too far from Hirafu main street. 5 minutes walk to Lawson and roughly 15-20 minutes walk to Hirafu Gondola. There is also free shuttle bus to Hirafu Gondola right in front of NAC (literally 1-2 minutes walk from lodge). What I love about the place is the owners are very friendly and welcoming. The storage room has iron and wax scraper if you need a quick wax for your ski or snowboard (bring your own wax). The best part is the common room where you can meet people from all over the world and have your meals there. Included in the common room is toys and lego for family with kids, microwave, fridge, washing machine and dryer. I highly recommend Pension Locomotion for your Niseko trip!

3 of us shared a very comfortable heated room with 2 western style bed and 1 mattress on the attic (very spacious). The mattress on the attic which I used was more on the softer side so it did sink in a little bit. I didn't really mind that much as I had good sleep after a full day on the slopes.

By far my favourite place to stay in Japan. it’s very clean and quiet and cozy. A family run b&b that they obviously take very good care of. the breakfast in the morning was delicious and perfect for a day on the ski hill. the private rooms were very well equipped with a tv, wifi, little kitchenette, bathroom and towels. the room and rest of the building was very clean. The bed was very comfortable and it was a quiet area. it was only about a 5 minute walk into the bars and about 8-10mins to the welcome centre or gondola. I will definitely stay here again and recommend anyone going to stay here!

the bathroom wasn’t heated so it was quiet cold if you had to pee in the middle of the night, but that’s very common in Japan so I wouldn’t hold it against this place. fantastic facilities, location, and staff!

Great location and premises. Room was a good size , clean and comfortable. Good little heater kept the temperature perfect and easy to adjust. The host Akihiro was great.

The toilet had a basin in the top of it, the tap came on automatically with any flush and ran on for too long. No frige in the room.
