This place is in a nice location, close to a lot of restaurants and convenience stores. Perhaps the biggest plus of this place is the lady running it. Does not speak a lot of English but is very kind. She drove me both to the cheese factory and to furano station without me even asking. The room is very comfortable. Even if it gets super cold you're reinforced with multiple layers of blankets and a heat pad (there is a heater in the room as well).
The shower does take a couple minutes for hot water to start flowing. There also is no central heating, so the hotel tends to get quite cold during the evening. Each room is equipped with a space heater.

The hostess is fantastic - she offers to drive you to the ski rental shop, train or bus station, though you need to be precise on your destination as she speaks little English. The rooms are spacious and include everything you might need. There is a very large hot tub to soak in after skiing. The bed is very large and comes with two heavy blankets and an electric blanket so no need for the gas heater while sleeping.
I wish the heater in the room was electric and not gas. There is a common area table where some people like to linger during late hours when all you need is rest for the next ski day.

We had the absolute best stay here. We stayed in the gorgeous tatami room with garden view (which was snow view since it was snow season). It was on the ground floor, next to the entrance where the host lives. The room had its own fridge, freezer and microwave. The host, an older Japanese woman, was extremely attentive and lovely. She didn't really speak English but was patient with our Google Translate communication. We were the only guests there, and she gave us lifts to the ski resort and even accompanied us to hire ski gear on the way. She will give you a 30% off coupon for your ski lift pass. She even made up our rooms every day as if we were in a 5-star hotel, and turned on the bedroom heater before we returned each night. The guest house is so cosy and comfortable, there are little touches everywhere that show how well looked after this place is. There is even a hot tub to soak in. The location is great, walking distance to multiple great dining options (we loved the local izakaya Fukinotou), a great value ski gear hire shop (Waves) and Furano station. We didn't want to leave and we look forward to staying here next time!
We loved everything! For people who need a lot of privacy and want to be left alone their whole stay, this probably isn't compatible. For us, it was a wonderful and valuable authentic travel experience.

The owner is very friendly and helpful. The room and the place are clean and comfortable. They have a 'huge' bathtub in the shower room for guest to have a ' private onsen'. When I ask for the places I can visit in Furano by bike (there are free bikes for guests to use), they suggested a few places for me to visit in Furano. The place is like a home for me during my stay at Furano. The lady manager there even fetched me to the train station when I checked out. Definitely will come back to this Ryokan in the future when I visit Furano again.
So far nope.

I stayed in a large room for one, which had a two-seater sofa, a table, shelves, and hangers. It's comfortable enough for a longer stay. There is one bathroom and two toilets for everyone. Even with all the rooms booked, I found I could use them when I wanted to. The owner of the ryokan made my stay very enjoyable. She was thoughtful, considerate, and kind. We spent quite a bit of time communicating on Google Translate since neither of us spoke the other's language. I was also lucky that the owner had time to drive me to a few places. I was not expecting this and was incredibly grateful. In terms of facilities, there is a dining area and some kitchen facilities: a microwave and fridge. There's unlimited tea and coffee if you fancy it. The owner told me about the nearby Navo vegan cafe restaurant. It's fantastic and worth going to Furano for! I stayed at the ryokan four nights and would happily have stayed longer.
The Wi-Fi is fine for normal usage. I found it a little slow because I was uploading lots of photos.

Very homey and cosy place, the lady is incredibly sweet and helpful. The shower and toilets are incredible, Worth the sharing with others! The bed was comfy and the room had everything we need. The owner even helped us with laundry after a week of hiking in the mountains which was amazing!
Just the heat. There was a small electrical cooler in the room which was a bit noisy, and a fan. it did the trick over night but during the hot August days it was a bit too hot, especially in the common area which is a pity. Other than that, no complaints at all

Hot water refilled all day long; heaters turned on, slippers put out for guests and kind management from the senior lady. Quiet, peaceful and the rooms were comfortable. The beds had heated blankets and heaters in each room, and a fridge as well. Fresh towels placed in the room daily and beds made daily as well.

I had an excellent experience staying at Ryokan Sansui. The location is very convenient, close to the supermarket and a good variety of restaurants. The owner is also extremely kind and helpful! She gave me a lift up to the ski hill and dropped me off to catch my bus so I didn’t have to walk with my luggage, and also helped me make a few phone calls. Plus, the hot tub is so nice for a relaxing soak after a day of skiing!

It is old world charm, very reasonably priced. The host was a beautiful Japanese lady who was very attentive. It was a very Japanese experience- like living in a true Japanese guest house. It was authentic Japan in a cute village in the snow. A great place to stay whilst skiing. Old fashioned great service.
It was a bit old- but the price and amenities were great!

We extended our stay because we truly loved this place and the wonderful woman who runs it. She was incredibly kind and hosted us magnificently. The house was very comfortable, and our room was spacious enough for all our belongings. We also enjoyed exploring this charming little town. Highly recommended!
