We loved our stay at KyuKyu Hotel. We loved the tatami and futon on the floor for me. My three kids had a single bed each. There was a low table and we sat on the floor, Japanese style. (This would not suit older Westerners who can't get up and down easily.) It was a short walk from Minowa Metro Station (with a lift to ground level). There were more than three supermarkets on the same block plus two convenience stores (even more if you exit from the other end of the station). We stayed in room 701 up the top with a balcony. It was perfect. It was quiet, especially on the weekend. We stayed seven nights and found the staff always accommodating. If I emailed a question or request, they responded within an hour, which was great. They changed my towels (I was a long stay), even my sheets, mattress protector and doona cover (after a child accident), plus collected mail for me two times. They lent us umbrellas too on our final rainy day, and even other days to go to the convenience store. They also stored our luggage, and called for a taxi when we left for Nippori Station. The room was modern and in great condition. The laundry washing detergent liquid was beautiful! I already miss that scent. Love, love, loved it! There was a vacuum cleaner in the room, and a portable clothesline. I bought some hanging clips from the 100yen shop to hang socks, etc. I put my line out on the balcony, and the clothes dried easily. The shower worked well and was warm. It is Japanese style. The toilet was modern and with a seat warmer. And the toilet room was separate from the shower room, which was perfect. The sink area was modern and clean with a good light and storage space. there are a few clothes hangers and hooks to hang a couple shirts. I would love to return to this apartment hotel.

I found hairs on the tatami and under the mattress. I used the vacuum cleaner to clean them up myself. The vacuum cleaner smelt really bad, but at least we had one to keep our room clean. There was a stain on my sheets. I got anxiety over sorting the recyclable rubbish. I tried very hard to sort all our rubbish into only two bags. Maybe I did it wrong, but I tried but very hard.

Location was right near Minowa station, with convenience stores close by, as well as various places (Sukiya, Dominos) to eat. Beds were comfortable, covers were just right. Washing machine was a delightful bonus. Tatami sitting area added a lot of space to the room. A room this large in Tokyo would normally be much more expensive. Room was clean and neat. Water pressure in the shower was excellent. No traffic noise overnight. No noise from other guests.

Not a lot to improve for this budget place. The recycling/trash setup was a bit of a challenge, but soon worked it out. Carpet was looking a little stained in a couple of places, but now I'm just nitpicking. Would happily recommend Kyukyu Hotel!

It's a very nice affordable place for a group of five (It's really really hard to find any other place that accommodate that many people, and also not being a capsule hotel). We have our own bathroom (with a bathtub!!!) and a washing machine which is so good for long travels. There is a post office right opposite the hotel, which is convenient for us to mail those extra luggages back.

I'd blame google for this as google kept recommending us to get on a bus to transit here; but we have so many luggages, so we'd rather not. A suggestion would be to get on Keisei skyliner (If you are from Narita) and get to Ueno station, then take the Hibiya line metro to Minowa station. The hotel is just a walk away from Minowa station. We struggle a little with the garbage disposal and the categorization, but it all worked out eventually...

The staff were really helpful with receiving our luggage and getting us taxis. The location is close to a grocery store and a few convenience stores and ~10 min walk to subway station. The room is a good size and equipped with washer and a good size fridge with freezer - good value for what you pay for.

There is only one subway line that will get you to the location of the hotel with reasonable walking time. You just need to be prepared for longer commute time depending on area of the city you'd want to go to. The AC is finicky at the hotel and took awhile for it to work. There is a guidebook in the suite that tells you how to troubleshoot it... but it's quite troublesome for the first time. It does work properly afterwards and is strong enough during the hottest of days.

Staff speaks English so zero problems! 2 suites per floor, but couldn't hear a thing 2 elevators for easy mobility Tourist cards in lobby for those who want to know what's around.

Due to no fault of the property owner, the location wasn't ideal, but is only 2 subway stops from Ueno station! Shower was not meant for tall people, but that's a me problem. For the 4 person room, be prepared to set up the table and put it away frequently due to limited space. Is that really a bad thing? No, just a note for when you come back super tired and need to move things to set up a futon.

There is no stove to cook.

We loved the location, near to the station and we loved taking walks to the Skytree/Asakusa and two convenience stores nearby. The room was nice and clean.

I found it quite uncomfortable that it was hard to contact the front desk. Most of the times noone was there and I had to call on the number given there. There was no reaction to our notice that washing machine was leaking quite a lot. Vacuum cleaner was not available. The room was far from quiet since there was a kindergarten under our window and from early hours they had outside time that included constant screaming and crying that made it impossible to sleep in the morning.

Only about 5 minutes walk from Minowa Station on Hibiya Line, to name a few, Akihabara, Ueno, Tsukiji and Ginza stations are on this line, which make travelling easy. There is a local supermarket on the way back from Minowa Station, an AEON convenience store opposite and a 7-11 just stone throw away. Bus T-08 from Tashita SamChome bus stop (4 minutes walk) brings us straight to Asakusa and Tokyo Sky Tree in less than 30 minutes. Spacious room for my family of 3. The young gentleman at the front desk is a cheerful and helpful guy, and he tried his best to answer our queries and help us with our requests.

It was very convenient to have a washing machine inside the room. the space was bigger than usual hotels in Tokyo. Minowa station which was near the hotel has elevators — very helpful for those with luggage.

It was not that bad, but we had to sort out our garbage and bring them down to the lobby. The hotel could also not take care of a broken luggage we wanted to throw away. We were being asked to pay 2,000 yen to dispose of the luggage. We ended up leaving the broken bag with the shop where we bought a new one.

Our room was very cozy and clean. I loved the beds and especially the pillows! The location was very convenient near where my son lives as well as not far from the Senso-ji Temple. Would definitely stay here again if we are back in the area.

Other than having to find someone to check in when we got there, the hotel was perfect.
