Amazing views from higher floors (we were on floor 17), good breakfast with great variety, friendly staff, good beds, despite being a little hard. Great location in Dostyk avenue, frim where you can get to many touristic sights.

The hotel is well maintained, but could use some more little maintenance. Sometimes quite long waiting time at the elevators, but makes sense as there are many floors and tye hotel seemed to be fully booked when we were there. The staff situation doesn’t seem to be very efficient. There is way too much staff for the work that needs to be done (restaurant for example), which leads then to “hang around” instead of work. Some staff, especially younger girls are too much on their phones, which to me personally doesn’t look very professional. Suggestion: less staff needed for waitressing work and teach them other tasks. Also it could be a good idea to provide staff with basic knowledge of English, as there are more and more international tourists coming.

The location was good. The rooms were clean and basic toiletries were provided.

We had booked a queen suite with 2 rooms and we were shocked to see that one room had no AC . On complaining we were told that they can only give us a table fan but even that was not provided.. we somehow managed to spend 2 nights by keeping the ac on really cool so that the non ac room could feel a little cool. The 2 who slept in the ac room had to bear with the extra cold effect! This should have been specified in the details on the site. The other issue was that the bathtub was so high that it was difficult for senior citizens to get in and out! And the lifts were so complicated that it used to take us ages to go up or down!

Accessible to restaurants and tourist spots. We got the refurbished room.

Room is on the cozier/small side Buffet breakfast- the coffee machine should be removed from where the reception/hostess is. This must be moved to where the other coffee machine is.This is blocking access and causing huge queue. Food- good that there is variety bu Improve the quality and taste of the food ie pasta lacks sauce, some food are bland. Provide and be quick in replenishments of plates. As breakfast gets busy, ensure adequate staff to promptly clean tables and replenish cutleries etc. Provide alternative milks or lactose free milk for lactose intolerant guests. Remove the security scanner and the barrier as it its just an obstacle. No security checking people coming in anyways.

Excellent location in the city centre, all points of interest in walking distance. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Friendly hotel staff. Comfortable bed, great view over the mountains. All in all a nice and cozy room. Coffee and tea provided in the rooms, free water provided.

The by far biggest disadvantage at the beginning: There is a big and noisy party area in the first floor with massive bass boxes and extreme loud music. Parties during every night of our stay until the morning hours. Absolutely impossible to sleep with windows opened. The AC in our room always had the same power and temperature and it was not possible to adjust it. The furniture in our bathroom almost fell apart and it was not possible to turn off the bathroom heater.

My room was on the 25th floor but I expect all rooms have pretty great views. The design of the hotel is magnificent and I wish they still built them that way. The architecture of the arrival sequence makes you feel important! the breakfast is fantastic and served in a very nice, cheerful mezzanine area overlooking the lobby. I dined at two of the returants that are associated with the hotel, Ziyafet and Noodles. Both were very good.

As I understand, some rooms have been modernized. I believe I was accommodated in one that hadn't been and, although very comfortable, it felt a bit austere and dated. Being directly beneath the top floor restaurant/bar, I could hear a bit of noise coming from upstairs.

The location of the hotel is perfect it’s near all the important attractions . Staff was helpful specially Farman he helped us a lot all through the trip. We had a pleasant stay and it was a good value for money. I liked that they had a money exchange within the hotel that’s a smart move.

The room is very small I wish it was a bit bigger. I really wished that they had a spa. If they renew the hotel it would be perfect. At night it was really hard to get any kind of room service. The breakfast could use more varieties.

The rooms are very comfortable. Big breakfast buffet. Very competent receptionists. Mini market in the hotel for great convenience. The view from the room on Kim Tobe was very nice. The location is very central. It’s cool to stay in a hotel which is one of almatys biggest sights :)

The hotel doesn’t have a pool and also roof top is only accessible with a dress code and entrance fee. The warm water broke down for a day when we were there which left us with a cold shower. In general it took over 5 minutes to get warm water in the shower. The fridge in the room was super loud but luckily I could turn it off manually.

Fantastic historical hotel. Our room was in a great state, freshly renovated. The view over Almaty was breathtaking. The personnel at the reception are exceptionally kind. The absolute highlight was the breakfast, the buffet they provide is royal in its abundance, variety, and flavors, I've never seen anything like it. A lot of choices for vegans, too.

The only problem was when we tried to order dinner from the restaurant at 8 in the evening. Not only did they not have a lot of the dishes on the menu (not even lentil soup or tea), the personnel on the phone was rude, could not offer anything vegan and did not even attempt to satisfy our needs. They basically just hanged up on us without a word of apology.

Neat hotel with lots of character and interesting architecture and history; great location near Metro and lots of places to eat or see; very walkable; service of employees was attentive, thorough, and friendly. We loved the historic character of the hotel and its archictecture inside and out. We stayed on two different occasions on our trip, between visiting other places, each time with two rooms for us and adult daughter. First room recently remodeled, very clean and in great shape,nice decor, and excellent shower with great water pressure. Our daughter's room was similar but her water pressure in shower was weak. Beds in these rooms very comfortable. Second pair of rooms was higher up near top floor, for rooms with better views but not recently remodeled (we knew that in advance as staff explained to us). Room was fine, however, decor was slightly worn but still nice, beds less comfortable than in first rooms but still nice. Views good but no mountain view as requested - although city view was nice. Overall, the location and height gave nice views in any direction. Good breakfast buffet with lots of items and overall great selection and good quality, plus a nice eating area with indoor eating around balcony overlooking lobby, plus nice partly covered outdoor seating which was very pleasant. Free parking for car.

Rooms are a bit small. Breakfast buffet was not consistent about which items were available or always with respect to the quality of items.

Staff, when we arrived the desk staff was dealing with a very rude and demanding customer. It was obvious that the customer was just bullying the staff member but the reception staff never lost their cool or argued but stayed calm and courteous. The staff is very professional and patient, I applaud them for their efforts, I would not have been able to deal with such a rude customer. Room, Many independent hotels are not updated or decorated very nicely. However, this hotel was updated very nicely and looked absolutely amazing inside the room. It is rare to find a non-chain hotel that is this nicely updated.

Although the two room suite was amazingly decorated and very large the A/C only cooled one room which made it a bit uncomfortable.
