Greeting: When we arrived it was an 'extra' person just inside the building saying 'hi' and giving directions to where to check-in. Pool area: nice pool, felt clean. A lot of pool beds and a relaxed feeling of mixed guests (kids, couples...). Good. Also, if you bought a drink at the pool, it was with nice plastic glasses that they wash over and over again, and not those cheap once. That was also very good. Gym: Good programs on the indoor walking and running machine, that you could follow. They had some fruit you could pick when you were finished with the excise. Beds; nice, comfortable beds. Down pillows. Room: Patio with gate that needed the key to enter = good. Nice sofa with pillows. Could need one more chair outside, since we were 4 persons. Nice furniture in real wood! Good coffee and extra pods were supplied when asked for. Area, restaurants: Extremely nice environment (building, plants, seatings, paths) within the hotel area. The Dinining was Mexican inspired. We ate 2 nights at the hotel. 1 breakfast, in a different area at the hotel. Expensive but good taste and all was served on excellent beuatiful porcelain and they used fine silverware.

The breakfast restaurant: The serving took too long. We wanted to head of to San Diego, but we had to wait a little bit. And of course, everything was very expensive, but what we could expect. Pool area: The bar at the pool closed at 5pm, could have had open for a little longer, since you normally go away and visit the surondings during the day and when you come back you want to relax 1-2 hours by the pool (with a drink :)) and this was not possible now. Restaurant: Too long waiting time the second day. So we 'needed' to by a drink at the bar outside the restarunatn/lobby, and they had strangely different bar menu, So the wine we had the day before from the restaurant - he could not get and fetch that.....

We loved the layout of the hotel. It was close to La Jolla downtown without staying there.

We didn't like the fact that for our entire stay instead of looking over the beautiful we were looking at a large group of people having breakfast and lunch each day. The noise from the set up and the noise of the large group kept us from enjoying a quiet time on our balcony. We did let the desk know and they sent us champagne and a nice note of apology. I would definitely stay again but I would ask about any large parties happening.

Beautiful property, excellent staff, well appointed rooms! I came for LASIK Surgery at a nearby hospital. The Staff was kind and caring. They met me with a wheelchair after I arrived back at the hotel post-surgery and the Staff escorted me back to my room. I felt safe and well cared for as I recovered. Truly one of the best experiences - beyond my expectations! I highly recommend Hotel Estancia for my family, friends, and colleagues!

The rooms were very clean and when I switched rooms because of a noise issue they upgraded me which I appreciated. The valet staff was very attentive and helpful.

It seemed very understaffed. There was always a long line at reception even if you just had a quick question, and while the valet seemed well staffed the majority of the time, on the day of check out there was one poor guy who was running ragged and I ended up having to wait for a very long time and then take my bags myself because I was going to be late for my flight. Also, they definitely needed more menu options on the lunch menu in the restaurant.

Location and cleanliness of the hotel.

The front desk staff did not have a friendly or pleasant expression. He was flat and short with his answers. He just checked us in and did not offer any recommendations when asked. I also asked about any discounts for UCSD students, and he straight out said no, even though the website says they do offer a discount. The staff at checkout was the same, very flat and not friendly at all. I have stayed at Estancia 3 times in the past and even got married here. I always had a very pleasant experience at checkin and check out, but on this visit, I did not feel welcomed at all.

The front desk, restaurant workers and the valet parkers were exceptional!! Great customer service! The food was good. The grounds of the hotel are nice and relaxing. I will be back!

The rooms were clean..but there were some areas where it could have been cleaned better..like finger prints on the small mirror in the bathroom and lipstick and dirt on the door leading to bathroom.This is a nice hotel..guest should see good cleaning in there rooms.upon arrival, not a rush job of cleaning . Overall..it was a nice room. I always bring my bleach wipes anyway when I stay overnight . This was a last minute trip..I will get a different location next time.Too much noise and dogs barking.😳 where I was located .

What a pleasant stay! At the first glance, the facilities are a little dated, but it is all so well kept and comfortable, we couldn’t ask for more. And it had its charm. The most heartfelt thanks for the excellent service - it made the stay particularly enjoyable.

Perhaps the carpet in the room could be replaced at some point.

I think the grounds are amazing Many beautiful spots for photography work to be taken advantage of. The staff behave with excellence, even those staff members who have difficulty speaking english. I will always give an excellent reference for this Resort Hotel.

I loved staying at the Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa. Love its Spanish charm - truly a charming boutique hotel. It has a courtyard with many places to sit and relax if not exploring La Jolla on a beautiful day. There are 2 restaurants on the property as well. The Mustangs & Burros an al fresco setting situated opens for dinner and the Greenfinch Restaurant which is open for brunch. I have dined at both during my stay. All the rooms have a French doors that either open to the garden or the courtyard. I was able to stay in both.

There wasn't anything I didn't like.

The property was absolutely beautiful, very quiet and peaceful. The staff blew us away with their hospitality, everyone we spoke to was helpful and kind. The staff exceeded our expectations.

We did leave our room and removed our “do not disturb” sign hoping that our towels would be replaced and bed made but that didn’t happen. Not the biggest deal, if we really needed it we would have asked.
