The staff in the hotel were very helpful with us, they let us check in early after a long flight and even helped us find the best excursion options in Hulhumale. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was served downstairs at a buffet, lunch and dinner were chosen from a fixed menu, with not many options, but the food was well prepared and tasty.

We booked “all-inclusive”, which I’m not sure if it provided much more than “full board” would have, each person only got to choose one type of food per meal served with one drink. Not necessarily a problem, but not a classic all-inclusive service.

Stayed here for 8 days comfortably. Fundamentally, the room was clean, the staff was professional, and they had a good selection of food. It's also close to the beach and you can easily catch the bus from the nearby stops to go anywhere. Oh and a bonus - THEY HAVE A LIFT. This last point is a bit one because there's a bunch in Hulhumale without it, which forces you to carry your luggage.

There was hardly anything to dislike. The staff made a few minor mistakes, like not bringing towels to my room on the first day. But they quickly rectified it once informed. Beyond this, the price might be a sticky point. But it's still one of the few places in Hulhumale where you'll find real value with clean rooms and staff that guarantee a comfortable stay just as the other reviews state. Definitely would reconsider staying here if I visit Hulhumale again.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Star Shell for a night before heading to our next resort after landing in Male City late in the evening. The property was good overall. While the price might feel a bit high compared to other countries, it was worth it. The room was small but perfectly suitable for an overnight stay before transferring to our resort the next day. Breakfast was included, which was a nice touch. Plus, 2-3 minutes walk to the beach is also good way to choose the Star Shell.

Booking.com stated 88 USD for 2 night - finally it was 120 USD, a big difference, would have chosen other location. Final price should clearly be indicated - not some misleading partial price! TV had only may be 5 poor channels (locals). - Of course one is not there for the TV but if TV is there and many tourists from abroad, should be different. Receiving any info (e.g. about surrounding islands or additional program options etc.) from staff was nothing but concrete and useful.....

It’s a basic and convenient hotel. The staff are attentive and very friendly. We would stay again.

We’ve stayed at this hotel a couple of times before or after a flight. The rooms can smell a bit musty, depending on the room you get. The bathrooms are ok, just ventilation isn’t the best. The bed is a touch small for a couple.

It is near to the airport and convenient to see other restaurants nearby

Nothing so far. I waited for 5 minutes before check in . Though I requested in advance for early check in and pay but still waited for few minutes. I was offered twin bed on single occupancy instead so I can rest. It is fine, no big deal. but I like a single room with big window so I can see the road.

Easily check in and out, friendly staff, the beach so close. Airport is close.

The pillows were so big, these can be smaller. The walls are really slim, so the noise was big.

Staff really friendly and helpful. Check in process was smooth and the room had everything needed for a short stay.

Windows in the room had small gaps in the frame when closed so traffic noise could be heard.

1. The staff are well behaved and accommodating. Kept all our requests and then some 2. The rooms are cozy and comfortable 3. The restaurant serves good food and we had all our three meals here 4. Airport shuttle was very convenient and although it was a bit late on our arrival, we got it right on time for our departure on a very short notice 5. Hulhumale beach is right at the back. It was a big value adder.

1. The toilet tank took a lot of time to get full. Water leaked from the bottom 2. The WiFi connection is a hassle. Need to log in every time and room didn’t get strong connection.

When i arrive at the airport! I contact the hotel to be picked up from the airport .the said to me no problem! the manager arranged for me too be picked up on a short notices without me making reservations to be picked up from the airport.. sean as i arrive to the the hotel i was greathing from all of the team member's help me with all of my luggage.. everyone was so & very happy & the welcome was all good vibes.. & so respectful! My room was very clean.. great location less than 20 minutes from the airport less than 5 minutes walk to the beach stores restaurant only footsteps away.the breakfast was great what I like the most about it ..was the fruits! In the a.m.. i enjoyed the dinner the most,of all. the menu had a mix variety! Of food choices the vegetarian meaI & the fruit drinks & Shakes was delicious!The chef is the best!! I had the breakfast & dinner. Packet! My 6 days stay was very comfortable & the price is reasonable !!!! i got more for my money!! I recommend the big star!! Shell!! Hotel🥰
