Friendly staff, perfect location at the beach, swimming pool and rooftop terrace.

Construction works nearby and all over the island.

Location was great, but no beach is far on Ukulhas. Staff was very nice, friendly, helpful. Everything was relaxed. Many restaurants on the island, most with similar prices ( somewhat cheaper than Europe/USA). 4th floor Ocean View rooms are wonderful. Beachtowels, snorkeling equipment, wifi, coffee, tea, water is included, so is pickup and drop at ferry terminal ( speedboat is of course extra). Houseriff great for snorkeling and shore dives. Divers: Ukulhas Divers was great, just 3 min walk.

At the time of our stay, beach was eroding somewhat directly at the hotel but that didn't make the stay any less wonderful. Breakfast is okay, if you stay longer than a week it might get monotonous.

Everything amazing. Staff, food, services, location…

The rooms were very well equipped, the beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked very well. The pictures reflect what we get on the spot. There is a very nice Polish woman working in the hotel - who is very helpful, gave valuable tips. Location very close to bikini beach. Currently there are many buildings under construction around the hotel. The hotel has a restaurant where we can eat really delicious dishes. The hotel has snoorkeling equipment that can be rented free of charge. The sunsets at the rooftop pool are impressive!

The location and the service, however the best part is that the people who work there are all very hardworking, friendly, creative and very kind people. I would go back just to see their friendly and smiley faces!

The size of the rooms, uncomfortable beds. No lounge área for indoor relaxation. Or the sofa’s by the reception are not private enough and also busy with a lot of movement. Drink offered for full/half board is cordial, they should include fresh juice.

With Ranthari you almost have the resort experience of the Maldives. The hotel is a 10 in all aspects, new and regularly maintained and cleaned. The staff is very professional and kind, ready to take care of anything you need. The restaurant is spotless, great breakfast and a la carte menu, with both western and local dishes.. The location is on of the best things about the hotel, you are right at the best part of the bikini beach, which is very long. You can use the sunbeds and towels of the hotel for free, or you can go 50m further to one of the beach bars. The snorkeling on the beach is unbelievable, and is on par with any snorkeling excursions. We were visiting during the rainy season when the weather can change quickly, so its great being so close to the hotel on the beach. In September we only had 1 full rainy day out of the 7 day stay. Ula and Ingvar were amazing, we went on Coral and Manta snorkeling trips with them and it was beautiful. The staff will book your speed boat from/to the airport or other islands. They pick you and your luggage up in a coach so you don't have to haul everything through the sandy roads.

Bring mosquito repellant or buy the Soffel brand on the island. The island is inhabitated so you should prepare some dresses which cover the knees/shoulders or have a scarf handy if you're walking around the island just so you stay polite. On the Ranthari beach you don't have to think about that much though :)

Nice management and scandinavian owner, good position on the beach, free Coffee, free Water. Good for kids. Lot of excursions.

Breakfast could be better and regulary refilled... 70% of the tourists on the island are Czech, Slovak and Polish it is similar to vacation in Croatia in the summer, so if you prefer privacy, you must search on other island, but this is not mistake of the hotel...

The hotel was one of the bests on the island of Ukulhas. Staff very friendly. Breakfast excellent, also local island breakfast was available on demand.

Lunch/Dinner menue card could have had more local dishes, was more international dishes. The carpet in the room hallway had a smell, that was not so good. The prices for excursions way to high. Apart of that the hotel met our expectations. Side comments about the island Ukulhas which is called to be the cleanest island on the Maledives - which is totally untrue. The hotel and the hotel beach was clean, the rest of the island is dirty, I pulled out every day a lot of plastic and baby napkin from the ocean during Monsun time. The quotes on the internet about Ukulhas island to be the most clean and sustainable island is simply not true. See my pictures I posted- just a 'few' examples.

It was our first visit to Maldives and we did not wanted any surprise. For 2 weeks. Ukulhas Ranthari was best choice because of the owner (from Nordic), helpful staff, clean environment, rich breakfast, direct access to shore (just in front of main entrance), availability of snorkels, fins, sea shoes and other equipment for snorkeling and many other reasons. Staff is always helpful, and available at reception for any of your questions. They take your case induvidual and make sure that you get great value from it. And yes, having pool on top of building was the best part of kids since even in not good weathers they could enjoy the open air pool. Unlimited and always available hot water, tea and coffee (americano, espresso) is like coming from paradize. You always feel covered for your thirst. I will advice Ranthari to my friends planning to Maldives. If it is your first visit to Maldives, Ranthari is always great choice. If I visit Maldives again I will definitely spend a week at Ranthari.

It is hard to find something that I did not like. But here can be some comments to make Ranthari always on top. - Even do the variety at breakfast is great, variation could be improved. It was the same set of items every day. - Restaurant prices for dinner/lunch were above the average Island price for 30-50% in average. I wish that the difference is not that much. Other than those wishes nothing to address.

We liked everything and all the staff (especially Mr. Mahinda Head of Operations and Owner Mr. Ingvar) were super friendly and helpful. ROOM: Very clean, cleaned every day (if you liked it to be) and with everything you need in terms of comfort. LOCATION: Ukulhas is a very small island so in theory anywhere you stay is close to everything, however Ranthari is basically 2 min from the main fantastic beach of the island. FOOD: We chose half board and it was enough for us. The dinner menu includes a variety of dishes, mostly European, cooked in a fancy manner and tasting great. If you stay a long time you might get bored but we chose everything, knew what we liked and ate our preferred dishes every day. ROOFTOP POOL: The view from the rooftop is brilliant and you can also see the beach and ocean from the pool itself. we always thought it is stupid to go to a pool when you go to a location at sea, but the Ranthari rooftop pool was fantastic especially for the last 3 days when we got tired of the beach and it's hotness and spent the evenings in the warm pool water gazing at the sunsets.

It is definitely not a 4 star hotel by European standards but my understanding from some people we talked to (tourists that have stayed in other places) is that it may be 5 star according to Maldivian standards as other accommodations are really sub-par. There are some things that were not perfect like internet in the room not working all the time or other small stuff like sometimes waiting a bit longer for the food to arrive but overall we left from Ranthari super relaxed an enjoyed every minute at the hotel.
