The location is great, everything is very clean, our room was big, the terace was beautiful. The breakfast was fabulous. But the best thing about our stay was definitely the host family. They helped us with everything we needed, provided us with lot of information. I would recommend this place to everybody who is looking for home away from home. :)

- The breakfast was delicious - How friendly the staff was always willing to help with a big smile - The very comfortable mattress - The location was nice, in middle of town with connection to the busses going yo the beaches

- The stairs to go to the second floor. My mom had to crawl up and it made hurt her knee each time. - We had a hard time looking for the hotel itself, no sign nor bell. - The room was very small, there was no space nor cupboard for the luggage. - The hotel dog peed on my bag while I was taking my breakfast! He certainly smelled that I am a dog owner and marked his territory. It's not his fault, but the staff should pay more attention to him!

The hotel was a clean relaxing oasis! Breakfast was to die for!!! The neighborhood is safe with families and entertainment in the neighboring park. There are lots of wonderful restaurants to walk to. The owner is the most kind person ever! She always asked about my day and helped me when I wanted to book a tour. The whole place is immaculately clean and quiet. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I’m so glad I stayed there!!!

It is about a 30 minute drive from the hotel to the area where a lot of scuba, snorkeling, and whale shark tours start.

It is an unexpected gem in Cancun. Totally surprised by the attention to the details of the internal colorful decor. The staff is incredibly friendly from the welcoming tour to the ladies bringing Breakfast.. The breakfast was a complete surprise with fresh fruit and freshly made eggs and muffins. The room was just perfect, spacious with an amazing view to the internal garden. The 24h open pool was lovely. The location is perfect, super close to the market Square full of people, street food and games options. The recommended restaurant is 3 minutes walking and it is just a must. We felt welcome on our first day to Mexico.

Despite the instructions we had a few seconds of panic since we did not understand which was the door of the hotel and the number to call was not working. As a suggestion you could send some pictures via booking.com so that the guests understand the door to Knock to and give a WhatsApp number for live chat on urgent needs. Also, we perceived an overuse of the air-conditioning for the guests rooms. The temperature and humidity outside are challenging, however we need to be more sensitive for our environment and use the air-conditioning wisely. My suggestion would be to switch it on only a few hours before the guests arrive so that the room stays fresh and use it at higher temperatures (21 °C is definitely too cold if outside there are perceived 38 °C)

Amazing service, beautiful hotel, friendly staff!!

Pros: location, close to downtown & zona hotelera. Easy to find, good security. Beautifully decorated, peaceful. We had a room with a small balcony & view to the pool, spacious, comfortable bed, hot water & had many good amenities (soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels, robes, slippers, hair dryer). Monica & Alberto are welcoming. They let us check in early so we could explore on our last day and they were there to help us checkout at 5AM! It is close to a park that has many food options and a couple of local bars. We enjoyed dinner at a place called Habichuela, walking distance from location. We only stayed for one night before our departure flight, but would deff stay again!

This family run bed and breakfast was amazing, we wish we could have stayed longer. It's downtown near lots of restaurants and shops and a park with food stands which is very convenient. It's just a short bus (or taxi) ride to the beach which the owner helped us organise. The place is charming with lots of plants and ornaments, and some great places to relax. Breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit, guacamole, muffins and eggs. The staff are friendly and helpful, and their dog is fun to play with.

Everything was great for us. The stairs and pool (which has no steps) would be a problem for someone with mobility difficulties.

The Quetzal, is like a little paradise. It is very colourful with lots of leafy plants in the garden, surrounding the pool. Please note the pool does not have a step ladder and I found it easy to get in but difficult to get out of the water. The room was lovely and clean and adequate. The upstairs rooms ( where we were ) are accessible by a narrow spiral staircase. Our hostess Monica, arranged for her boys to carry our luggage up and at 4.30am when we left, down again. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Monica arranged for a takeaway breakfast when we left early, when we checked out. Monica is a fabulous hostess and looked after us very well. We highly recommend staying at The Quetzal.

We stayed at The Quetzal twice. Everything was perfect. The hotel is lovingly decorated and Monica the owner helps with everything (we ran out of pesos for the taxi, had food poisoning and were able to check in early). The breakfast with fresh fruit, eggs, avocado toast and chocolate rolls is very delicous. Rooms are large with comfortable beds and air conditioning. Shower with hot water. The area around is quite. There are restaurants and bars in walking distance. We will gladly come back and can highly recommend to stay at the Quetzal.

The Quetzal is a real gem in Cancun. it is perfectly located in Cancun downtown at walking distance from restaurant, bars and the ADO station. The place is wonderful, with genuine decoration, nice pool, vivid garden and typical architecture. It really makes the difference compared to the rest of the charmless Cancun resort hotels. Monica is an incredible hostess and made our stay perfect: very caring, giving us tips for restaurants, how to get to the hotel, and serving us a delicious homemade breakfast. Honestly we were speechless and that night made our first day in Mexico perfect. (do not listen to other complaining comments, they’re not founded, the place is lovely and quiet)
