Right on a nice long stretch of beach, outside of Tulum city but very near it (Akumal is nearby). Hosts were great, breakfast every morning was delicious. Great bathrooms, some good restaurants in nearby hotels within walking distance. Also, there is a cenote within 5 mins walking. Protected entrance to the road leading to the Casa.

The road leading to the Casa is unpaved and very rough in places. This makes for a not so comfortable in/out travel (I hope they will pave the road in the future). Some of the kayaking/paddling equipment is dated (a kayak paddle broke in use, and the paddle boards fill with water which makes them hard to use if not released - in summary equipment could use upkeep).

It's a beautiful little hotel. We had a beach facing upstairs room with a large balcony - wonderful view. Rooms are large, clean, well decorated with a free water dispenser in the room. Great breakfasts. Nice bathroom with lots of hot water. Short walk to a few excellent restaurants and a decent cenote for swimming or snorkeling. Nice area for long walks on the beach. Owners are very nice and helpful.

Everyone complains about the access road to the area and it was way worse than people said. The good news is that the road was beginning to be repaired the day we left so hopefully that will make it better. That would make it easier to go in or out to go to Tulum for meals or nearby sights. Secondly the beach and water are rocky. You can slide in the water at the shore or walk to the end of pier and slide in. Not a big deal - just be aware.

We loved staying here! We booked it by accident (meant to cancel because I had booked another place the same dates and then thought I had canceled in time but didn't) but so glad we did! From the seemingly private road to the lovely and hospitable staff to the location- it was so wonderful and definitely worth it! We stayed part of our trip at an airbnb that was nearly the same price and not half as nice. It feels private, safe and you're taken care of. Plus stepping out of your room and being on the literal beach in front of the beautiful ocean and pier is unbeatable. Would definitely recommend. Bummed we accidentally spent the extra money on two places but glad we found this place. Initially we just checked in to use the beach but then ended up staying because why wouldn't you want to wake up here! We'll definitely be back. A few minutes out of town and so so much better than the chaotic headache that is the hotel zone beach area where it can be bumper to bumper traffic all day long.

Amazing little affordable quiet place. All you need is there. It makes you want to stay there forever. The place is not that easy to reach by public transportation, renting a car is best but there are taxis near by in case needed. It feels like a bed and breakfast kind of place. You have everything you need in your room and the common areas. Restaurants, a little grocery store and a little cenote are walking distance. It was just amazing.

Prices in Tulum are insane so it's hard to do activities. Luckily, this little gem has everything you need to just chill by the beach.

All of the pictures I've seen don't come close to showing how beautiful this property is. We had 2 rooms: a suite for my young adult sons and a king for me and my husband. Both were clean, comfortable and had amazing views. Our upstairs room had a large terrace that looked out over the water, and our sons' suite opened right onto the beach. Breakfast was good, and they packed brown bag breakfasts for us when we had tours that left early. Several restaurants are within a 5 minute walk. It was recommended that we get a rental car, and I have to agree that it's the best option if you plan to go into Tulum. There is lots of parking, and we always felt safe and cared for.

We enjoyed the breakfasts delivered to our room. The main selection varied each day, was always delicious and was accompanied by flavorful fruit, bread and juice! The trays were presented so beautifully that I usually photographed them. Beautiful views all around. Enjoyed being away from the large hotels. We appreciated all the suggestions Melissa gave us; she was a superb hostess. We really loved meeting the dogs! And Nancy was kind enough to tell us about the concept for and the origin of Casa Colibri.

Everything. The location of Casa Colibri Tankah is not as central as right in the town of Tulum. However, you aren't far from town or ruins. You are quite a ways from Zona Hotelera. Best of all Casa Colibri is right on the beach. It's such a win especially when the sun is beaming and that sea breeze is blowing. Melisa, her mom and her staff were such a delight to interact with. Melisa was also very helpful with suggestions and arranging cabs for me. They were also very transparent about the power and water - the rain and wind took out the power of the area on my first night. The complimentary breakfasts? So delicious and just what you need to get the morning started, especially before a full day of just laying in a hammock.

The only downer was the weather and that is no one's fault but nature's. I can't complain, I got three days of sun and two of rain during my stay. I'd say those are good ratios for booking so close to hurricane season.

The property is beautiful; comfortable, clean and very modern. The pictures do not do it justice. It is located on a private beach with sun loungers, chairs, body boards and Kayaks provided. Everything was in pristine condition. The hosts (Nancy & Melisa) live on the property and their management is superb. They are both lovely women, kind and very generous of their time. We were served a very tasty breakfast in our apartment each morning. I really couldn't find any fault with this property. You do need a car - we had one so not an issue. The property is 10-15mins drive from Tulum. This suited us very well as we found Tulum very busy and touristy, we loved the tranquility of Tankah Bay.

Limited restaurants within walking distance and relatively over priced. However it is a short drive into Tulum.

Casa Colibri is a hidden gem! Melisa, the site manager, was incredibly helpful and attentive. The location is perfect, combining the tranquillity of the jungle with the beauty of the sandy beach. The daily housekeeping and room service/breakfast were a luxurious touch. The little detached houses were cosy and private. Plus, the free kayaks and paddleboards added to the fun. Just remember to bring water shoes for comfortable beach access. Highly recommend!

Beautiful location. It is very peaceful and secluded and a great place to relax and unwind. Melissa and Nancy were very welcoming, and breakfast was served in our room every morning. Great view from our balcony and comfortabe loungers. . Lovely shower and rooms cleaned daily.

Access to the sea is very rocky and you have to walk along the pier (owned by the neighbouring restaurant) to take a dip as too rocky otherwise. This was a real disappointment if I'm honest. Also no refreshments available at the property. The air conditioning could have been more effective.
