Take oversVery nice people who take care of the premise, very close to every attraction without the noice. Taxis and Uber are cheap, and fast. Floors are very clean, linen is also. I like being close to Montejo and centro, it's a very large living area, with a dinner table for about 6 people. The staff I met was great, Herman and Pancho. Great breakfast place nearby. El Barrio. One block down you are in the great Montejo, where horse drawn carriages are a beautiful way to see it all. Anthropology museum is a few yards away. I like being in the middle of things, but in a quiet place. This area was very safe. I used an Uber to get to Progreso BEACH, It was about 8.00 dollars, then I stayed for 34.00 for 1 night. I would rent this apartment again. But read the next part and go prepared, it's an apartment, don't expect hotel service. But you will be rewarded with kindness, and helpful locals. I travel to be with locals, I love Merida and I choose Casitas, rather than hotels, it helps the locals, not the rich corporate, foreign take overs.

This is an explanation of what others should know when visiting. I would go back. And as always on long stays, go buy what you need. The furniture is outdated, and the curtains are of the fabric that retains food smells. So open windows when cooking. (Buy Febreeze and leave it when you check out) You have to pay extra to get clean sheets and towels, and I just bought some cheap ones as back up. I finally asked for clean sheets after 2 weeks, for the towels 3 weeks. I don't mind, as I like to conserve water, but there is no mention of this on the Booking site. Take your own hair products, they had a small one, but they don't give you anymore. The kitchen spatulas are the cheap plastic ones full of burn marks, very hard to keep clean. Most people don't want to cook anyway. Food is excellent and you get big portions, bring left overs home, and put them in the refrigerator. For later. Our room had 2 beds, supposedly full size, we could not fit, so we had to move the furniture around and put the beds together. The beds in all of Mexico, South and Central America, as well as most of Europe are very small and the pillows are hard as a rock, in older RESIDENCES. I bring pillow protectors when I travel, and extra travel blankets. I also would bring sponges for washing dishes, dish soap, drying dish towel, laundry detergent, a laundry line with clothes pin to hand wash your clothes...crawl out the window and figure out how to hang the clothes to dry. I'm very much use to this, as I travel to many parts of Mexico, so I know to assess upon arrival, go to a Walmart near by, and spend about 35.00 on the items I need. ***This is not critical, its so you don't have high expectations coming in and are disappointed. Come prepare, and leave gifts for others that come in. The pictures on the app don't show the aging furniture.

The gas oven exploded on my face. It burned my whole hand and had to put it on ice for the night; couldn't sleep. The reaction of the staff was surprising: they did not care about my burn and suggested they would check it out.
