It was very clean, the room was spacious, the bed had cotton sheets which is always a bonus and the location was good.. a nice quiet street but only a 10 minute walk to Paseo Montejo. Wifi was good and it’s pet-friendly 😊

We checked-in but were then given a different, smaller economy double room, not the deluxe king we had booked. We were quite disappointed as we’d chosen this property over others because of the size of the room we’d booked. We explained this to the check-in staff and they managed to give us the room we had booked - so everything was good in the end 😊

Our room was very dark and if we wanted to open the windows anybody could see us A lot of noise coming from outside the room, we don’t really know where from exactly (a washing machine? Not sure) No hot water in the shower, glad it was very hot outside, it was refreshing ! Continental breakfast a bit too simple, but not so bad. The buffet looked good but you have to pay for it.

I met the most wonderful people who were doing amazing adventures. I really enjoyed the location which was walking distance to the best areas in the city.

You cant cook meat here but they don’t mind if you eat it.

The front desk staff was exceptional. Breakfast was good, the location was amazing, I got to really walk through Mérida. Loved it!

The room was in a separate venue. Away from the main building When booking.com said that I could upgrade the room, I really thought it would be in the main building.

The location is ideal for many things! The king room I had was spacious, air conditioning worked great and plenty of hot water. Traveling with a small dog was no problem, and there were no extra charges. Very reasonable price for the size of the room.

The breakfast room is in a separate hotel just around the corner. A small inconvenience.

Honestly I never actually stay at Casa San Juan as when I checked in I was offered a free upgrade to the Hotel Boutique Real San Juan. This said, ALL of the staff were very professional & friendly (front desk, housekeeping, restaurant), and the included breakfast was a great bonus - fresh fruit, yogurt, juice & coffee. These points would apply to both properties. As for the actual room where I stayed, it was spotlessly clean, super comfortable, spacious, airy, well ventilated, and tastefully designed. Overall, absolutely fantastic stay.

I liked everything but if you’re a light sleeper it could get noisy. I’m a light sleeper but lucky to have respectful people there.
