Tenger Breakfast service and Concierge SANCHIR, ZUI and ERIC were Exceptional!

KK Bar Service was poor.

My stay at Kempinski was wonderful and convenient for what my trip needed. As I arrived the front staff took care of my luggage, quickly checked me in, and explained the area of interest. They were also helpful to a lot currency and add it to my room bill for taxi fare. Tours that operate in the area will pick you up from this location. The convenience of a coffee stand in the lobby and restaurants make the transition of travel so nice. Especially when it is all thought for you. Spa services exist here as well. Facials/ massages are offered especially needed after a long hike in the desert or mountains.

Only problem I encountered was when I put out my breakfast order for room service on the door but it was never picked up. I had an early flight I was trying to prepare for. However, the hotel crew went above and beyond to make things right.

After a long, traffic snarled drive from the airport, we were warmly welcomed to the hotel by kind and helpful staff, and then found that our room and the amenities very much exceeded our expectations. And the food !!! No wonder one of the UB visitor websites said the Kempinski had the best Mongolian foods in the city.

At first we thought we were on the utility’s of town, and were concerned about travelling to the heart of the city. On the contrary, the location was ideal for our day-trips out to the impressive Chingus Khan statue AND for our trip to Tenaji National Park. When we did decide to head to the main square and surrounding attractions the taxi arrangements by the hotel were quick and efficient.

It was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. The restaurants were good. The value for money was extremely good. There was one particular receptionist (Bilguun, I hope I’ve spelt her name correctly) who was super and so helpful when our arrival was delayed due to issues with our flights.

We used a driver for our airport transfer and transportation to an attraction outside the city. He was quite an aggressive driver even by Mongolian standards. I should add that the driver who transferred us to the airport at the end of our stay was a different man and a very good driver and I felt very safe with his driving.

1. Location - the traffic jams outside forced us to walk to the hotel after getting off our taxi and the baggage arrived at least 45 minutes later! 2. Reception didn't look spacious and appealing enough 3. Though only 2-3 kms from Sukhbatar square, it takes 30-45 minutes to walk to Sukhbatar square where all the places of interest are. Even if you take a transport, the traffic jams outside will not help reach any place quicker.

The facilities were relatively new, including a new rain-style shower head in my bathroom. I sensed that the management keeps things very well maintained. The staff were professional and attentive, especially a young woman at the breakfast area who spoke multiple languages and was eager to serve.

The surrounding area isn’t very exciting. I walked around the streets a bit one morning and saw some restaurants and karaoke bars but there wasn’t much to offer immediately in the area (as far as I saw). On top of this, it’s a traffic-filled drive from the airport to eastern Ulaanbaatar.

Comfortable room; good breakfast (international) and staff in general friendly; spa was nice (we had a good massage)

Location ok but there are not so many good restaurants in walking distance; hotel stay was good but dinner at the sushi bar restaurant was catastrophic as the service was rude and slow even though we were the only guests in the restaurant we waited 15-20 min for our drinks order (wouldn’t recommend it)

The interior of the hotel was very pleasant, the room was spacious and the staff would try and accommodate everything you needed. There is a restaurant on the bottom floor that has a vast menu, and the prices are very affordable.

The breakfast was very bland and boring, the pastry options were always the same jam or marmalade, no croissants or cholocalte croissant, they also didn't taste freshly cooked.

Great customer service. The staff was incredible. They fulfilled all our needs and more. We liked our hotel driver, Mr. LUTSAIKHAN, so much that we canceled a tour to see the sights with him. My husband loves his massage. Room service was excellent. It was very tasty. Breakfast was a very good selection. However, the hotel needs to be remodeled. It has old furnishings and an old lobby.

The breakfast was a lovely Buffet with many options. But what makes this hotel extraordinary is the staff! Without exception- thoughtful, polished courteous and helpful. Whoever is doing the staff selection and training (probably the wonderful Front of Hotel manager (whom I met)) is selecting brilliantly. Well done Kempinski. I have stayed here before and will come again!

More water in the rooms?- but I was always provided more when I requested it.
