The kasbah has the best atmosphere and is in a beautiful location and with a terrace over the rose valley, just perfect for sunset! The food is amazing and so is the staff! Aziz, is the best guide, funny, sweet, experienced and willing to help! The interiors are beautiful with many details and made entirely from local Moroccan cooperatives! I have no better words to describe how magic it was out stay there! We miss it, and Inschallah we will be back!

I loved this hotel so much and wish I could have stayed longer! I was warmly welcomed by Mohammad and shown around the hotel. The views of the surrounding areas/old berber houses are breathtaking. There are lounge areas for guests to relax and enjoy the views. My room was cosy yet comfortable, the decor was lovely and shower had hot water. The gardens are stunning and within a short walk, the delicate fragrant roses will tantalise your senses.

My room was located right next to the kitchen, so my sleep was disturbed by people having dinner at midnight. Also the ladies prepared breakfast quite early, so I was woken up by the sound of them chatting. I would have rated the hotel higher, if it wasn't for this. Otherwise it was a wonderful stay :)

Kasbah Assafar, Aziz, Fatima & everyone are wonderful. A great place to break up a trip through the Valley of the Roses & the road of a thousand Kasbahs. For us it was a unique opportunity to stay in a very luxurious Berber Kasbah & stroll through the type of garden valley typical around here that has sustained life for the locals for centuries. The food, from the local gardens, was excellent. Aziz runs trips & I'm sure is a great guide as well as being very invested in helping his community & share his knowledge & love of traditional ways while being firmly planted in the 21st Century. Thankyou. Well signed, we found it fine after dark. Cell phones work & a Taxi from Kalaat M"Gouna shouldnt cost very much.

Place is clean and comfortable. Aziz is very welcoming and chilled, he gave me a lot of tips on what to do and was very accommodating. Ideal place to relax and plan your hikes and itineraries around the Atlas or desert, with or without Aziz who is also a professional guide.

Nice view from the terrace. Warm room. Good breakfast.

The rooms are extremely small. This was not evident from the pictures of the rooms because the pictures shown for the room we booked were showing some larger rooms with a bedroom and a tiny salon as well as tiny rooms with just enough space to fit a 2 person bed. We booked a standard double room (not the "economy double room") thinking this must be the one with bedroom and tiny salon, However, when we reached the property, the owner gave us a tiny room (as mentioned, barely enough to fit a bed) and a tiny bathroom. Paired with the fact that the room was underground, it really felt like being burried in a coffin. The owner also mentioned he gave us a different room than the one we booked because this was easy to heat (for our convenience). The following day (when enough time passed to heat any room) we inquired about the diference in what we saw in pictures on booking and what we were given in reality. The owner explained that in his booking ads, for each room he rents he uploaded pictures of all the rooms of his property, This makes it very confusing, as you can't know what exactly you are booking. Also, our inquiries created some friction with the owner and we hurried our departure to avoid the tension. The location is hard to access (quite remote from the main road). Overall, it has the air of a hostel and it's definitely not suitable for families or single adults who are not after the hostel experience.
