We stayed in this lovely Riad for 4 days and it was a beautiful experience! Welcoming since the moment we stepped foot in the Riad itself. Big shotout to Said,whom welcomed us with traditional moroccan tea along with some delicious treats and pastries. He recommended us places we could visit in Marrakech,adventures and much more. We had also the opportunity to have breakfast on the rooftop one of the days we were staying there,and breakfast was indeed amazing,with a bunch of varities! The location of the Riad is very central and super close to the Medina. Definitely would come back :) thank you!

The staff were great. In particular Marwuan (just guessing how to spell his name) always had time and a smile for us, and Mahammad gave us more advice than we knew what to do with! The pool is perfect for keeping cool on a hot day or warm evening, and for soaking your souk-weary feet. The whole riad is wonderfully quiet compared to the bustling streets outside which makes for good sleep or afternoon naps.

There was a bit of drain smell in the bathroom, but the housekeeping did us the favour of leaving the extractor fan running when we were out. Other than that, it's hard to fault it. Perhaps the breakfast was _too_ big? We could never finish it all. The pool was a little dusty, but Marrakech is pretty dusty, so cleaning it must be a neverending task!

The Riad is beautiful & traditional and we really loved our stay. Mohamed, Said & Marounae were very kind & helpful and they went out of their way to make our trip special. We loved drinking tea & playing card games with them, learning about the Moroccan cultures & they also made my friends birthday very special. As a travel agent I visit many places around the world and stay in different types of accommodation. Astra Damus is simple but very unique & in the words of Said “welcome home”, that’s exactly how it felt every day when we returned. I can’t recommend this place enough. Great location, it is quiet despite being in the centre, the breakfast is good and the staff are amazing. Love Kirsty & Ruvimbo xx

We loved everything

The riad was very comfortable and clean. The staff was amazing, kind, and courteous! Said stayed up til 2:00ish am to receive us when it took us three hours to clear custom! He even helped to get us the mint tea when we weren't familiar with the directions! Mohammed took care of the ride for us to the airport and printed our boarding passes! He replied to my text messages in a prompt fashion. The riad is conveniently located near the Medina and other attractions! Great value for what we paid. Overall, we felt at ease! We had an unforgettable stay at Astra Damus! The riad is clean, wonderfully cozy, and perfectly captures the charm of Marrakech. Its location is fantastic, with the attractions just a short walk away, and the breakfast was delicious and enough to keep us energized throughout the day. What truly sets Astra Damus apart is its exceptional team. Mohammad, Said, and Marwan went above and beyond to make our stay extraordinary. When my wife fell ill, they immediately stepped in with genuine care and concern, offering tea, freshly squeezed juice, checking which pharmacies were open, etc. They provided incredible support and made us feel like we weren’t just guests but part of the family. Their proactive care and thoughtful gestures turned what could have been a stressful situation into one of comfort and reassurance. The Astra Damus team also gave us many valuable advices proactively, ensuring our trip was seamless and enjoyable. Some of my favorite moments were spent on the riad’s terrace, sipping tea and enjoying delightful conversations with the hosts. Their warmth, and hospitality created an atmosphere that felt welcoming and personal, something you rarely find in other accommodations. While some reviews mention minor issues like lower privacy, occasional smells, or cold terrace, we personally did not experience any of these issues. It's important to remember that staying in a riad comes with its own unique character and quirks, but what truly matters, and what Astra Damus excels at, is how the hosts handle any situation. I am assured they will move heaven and earth to address your concerns and ensure your stay is comfortable, pleasant, and exceptional. They truly excel at ensuring their guests’ comfort and happiness. Astra Damus is not just a place to stay, it’s an experience filled with heart and soul. This was our first visit to Marrakech, but it certainly won’t be our last.

Astra Damus Hotel is a lovely and homey Riad right in the middle of Marrakech’s Medina. Every detail inside is just beautiful. But the most impressive is how we were received by Said and Marouane. They treated us like family, made us feel special and welcomed. They even prepare a surprise for my daughter for her 19th birthday because I mentioned that this trip was her birthday present when we arrived (although her birthday was during Summer!). They borrowed us local cash when we arrived, they went with us - early morning - to our pickup point for our trip to Ouzoud waterfalls. They care about their guests in the sweetest way! Totally recommend

From the start, communication with the hotel was quick and easy. They arranged a taxi to collect us at the airport and someone met us where the taxi stopped to walk us to the riad, which made the journey stressless. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special; they were extremely accommodating made some excellent recommendations. Mohammed in particular was super friendly and helpful and even pulled some strings to get us a dinner reservation at a fully booked restaurant. The breakfast varied every day and was very good and the location of the hotel was excellent - central and a short walking distance from all the sites and souks. The room was lovely and the bed comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

The rooms on the ground floor opened directly onto the main courtyard and I felt like they didn’t offer as much privacy as the ones on the other floors. Next time I would request a room on a higher floor.

The riad was absolutely lovely and it looked just like the photos. Perfect central location. The roof terrace was gorgeous. We were served a tasty and generous breakfast every day including breads, pastries, pancakes, fruit, yoghurts, coffee and mint tea. The staff were all lovely too, kind and helpful. Clean and very quiet bedroom with comfortable, spacious beds, great air conditioning - we all slept so well! When we hung out at the riad, we were offered free mint tea too which was very sweet. Used the plunge pool on a hot afternoon which was great (when we mentioned that we planned to use it, they cleaned it for us especially). Very smooth, stress-free airport transfers. Would highly recommend!

I would give this riad 10/10, apart from only one thing - which was that in our bedroom for three, our toilet and shower was only separated from the bedroom by a thin shower curtain - so there was zero privacy for the bathroom. As two of the three of us were afflicted by poorly stomachs (possibly a dodgy meal on day one), this would have been pretty awful as there was effectively zero separation between the toilet and the beds - HOWEVER, we were saved by a communal toilet, with a lockable solid door, in the main lobby. This was a godsend (and unfortunately we spent more time than we would have wanted in there!)! If our room hadn't happened to be right next to this external toilet, it would have been a bit of a nightmare!

Location is very central in the Medina. The quality of the matras was very good. The team was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was personal and everyday slightly different. They organised a cake, coffee, music and decoration for my mums 70th birthday which was really nice.

There was a rooster making noise very early in the morning which woke us up. As it is a Riad, it can be noisy at times. To get to the location with bigger suitcase may be a slight challenge as the taxi can’t get too close so walking for 10 minutes is required to get to the location.

Many thanks to the hosts in the Riad, Said, Marouane, and Mohamed, for their warmth and hospitality. They were always ready to help, making us feel truly welcome during our stay. The riad had an incredible atmosphere, and the terrace was simply beautiful. Everything was clean and organized, and the Moroccan breakfast was delicious—far exceeding our expectations and even better than what we experienced at other riads. We felt very well cared for in this riad, and the tea was absolutely fantastic. Said speaks excellent German, so if anyone has difficulty with English, he can explain everything clearly.
